    Hmmm... Sausage Rolls
    Sharon S.

... Walked by this place many times but on Saturday as I strolled by their outside chalkboard caught my attention, some breakfast listings and wait for it, a bacon buttie... Yes, the little hungover head thought all my christmas' came at once. Was about 2pm and I skipped into this little small cafe... We'll have 2 bacon butties please (with biggest giddy head on me) and in a flash, my giddiness was replaced with sadness... Sorry, we stop serving them at 12... Ok, fine... But was is it about places leaving their chalkboards out indicating brekkie or brunch options if your no longer serving them... TAKE THE SIGN IN or at least change it to the menu you're now serving. In the end, being a little hungry I turned my eye to their sausage rolls which looked pretty impressive, the lady heated them up and served on a place to us with no condiments or cutlery... Fear not, my legs work so I popped to the counter to get some. After 3-4 bites I was done, it was dry and lacked flavour... Plus both hubby and I had pleasure of them repeating on us all day! First impression done and I'll not be back :-(

Lovely little cupcakes. Very pricey at 2.50 though. We didn't eat in but they have counter seating if you wanted to.

If you're dining in, you order at the counter and get a table number to place wherever you decide to sit. There's plenty of seating inside which is a plus. What I got: -Potato danish- savory; slight salty, crispy flakey layers. -Sausage roll- slightly salty for my preference, but has a very crispy crust and a meaty sausage in the middle. We went back a second time on our trip and got a few more pastries, all of which were very delicious. The pastries were hot, flakey, glistening, delicate, and perfectly sweet on both visits. I would definitely come back if I were to visit Dublin again.

I didn't wait more than 5/10 minutes. I grabbed a couple of different things for us to try -- the focaccia, morning bun, salted caramel roll, and the cinnamon roll. My favorite was easily the focaccia, which could compete with the best I had in Italy -- so good. The morning bun was good, but nothing crazy exciting. The salted caramel roll had to be the least caramel-y caramel roll I've ever had, but it didn't taste bad and the salted part was interesting (in a good way!). The Cinnamon roll was unique, which I appreciate. It had a big glob of cream cheese frosting (too much for me, but I imagine it would float a lot of folks' boats) and some orange flavoring! I quite liked the orange. I wanted to get a matcha to go, but they said they didn't have disposable cups. You could buy a 5 euro reusable one and then if you brought it back you'd get a refund... interesting, but I was leaving that day and wouldn't be back in the area. I can't speak to the ambiance because we were in and out, but it looked like they had a decent amount of space. All in all, I would recommend this place! For me it was a 4, but I'm sure for some it would bop up to a 5.

If you're from the states, do yourself a favor and try these because the ingredients are far superior to anything you would find back home. I'll definitely be back tomorrow for more. It's a small shop, like very small shop so seating is more than extremely limited. That was OK since I knew we would be walking away eating. It's also fun to watch them making donuts right behind the glass in the store. Since there are not to many people inside at any one time and two people behind the counter they are very attentive. I also had a specialty coffee which they make on the spot. There is a great selection of fresh and delicious speciality doughnuts and a "Donut of the day" but we were too late for that. We left and continued our walk only to stop for a minute and use a pail as our table. These donuts are good.... I mean really good. Our need for sweet was satisfied and later I was disappointed that I did not bring back a few more to take on the ship with me. They had so many flavors and styles. Stop in if you're in the area.
