I like how they do my nails. John is really attentive and also is really careful when doing manicure. Other places are really aggressive with the nails and cuticles using those machine they have. However, he is really careful. He remove cuticles manually making sure your nail is not damaged. He also removed the gel with enough patience so my nails were not damaged. read more

Today I went with my mom to get our nails done ..when we walked in I had an okay experience with the man since he did my nails alright..but didn't do them that well since he was in a rush and there was no customers coming besides us ..he left glue under my nails and cuticles..but my nails weren't that bad compared to my mom's nails ..the older lady left her nails looking like blocks and she told her she wanted round nails and not square and kept cutting it as square and said she will fix them . I happened to be in the area so I thought maybe the reviews were old and outdated.. no. Please stay far away. First of all, they don't use the bags for the pedicure bowls- very unsanitary and the towel on the foot holder thing was wet and stained- disgusting. The tools were not pulled out of a fresh wrapping, they were just sitting on his cart. I wish I had walked out right then but I was on a schedule and didn't really have time to go somewhere else. While I was there, a woman and her mother both got pedicures, and the bowl was NOT cleaned between them. It doesn't matter if they're family, that's disgusting and makes me worried about how often they are cleaned. My manicure was rushed, he left paint under my nails and on my skin and didn't shape my nails evenly. Looking more closely now, I can see that he didn't get my whole toe nail or finger nails, and the top corners don't have polish on them. In the middle of my manicure, he asked for my card so I could pay. I felt super awkward because he was in the middle of doing my nails, and no one else was being asked to pay. To top it off, he charged me 25 for my gel manicure. The signage clearly says a gel manicure is 20, but he kept telling me that it's actually 25 because he had to remove the gel polish first, even though it clearly says that polish removal is free if purchasing a manicure. I wish the signs were accurate so I didn't feel like I was being taken advantage of. When I asked about the discrepancy he got really irritated and I feel like that's part of the reason my nails look so bad. If the service had been better quality, I would have been more forgiving of the overcharge. But the lack of sanitary practices and crap quality led me to this review. Easily one of the WORST experiences ever getting a mani + pedi. I only agreed to come here because I am not from the area and failed to read the Yelp reviews on this establishment. Never again. I told the nail tech I had gel on my nails and he said there was a $5 charge to remove it. WTF? I have never been charged that amount to have existing gel removed from my nails. Absurd. He told me I had to let him know right then and there if I didn't want to pay that charge so that he would not continue. My niece was with me getting a pedi, so I begrudgingly told him to continue. He rushed through the job and my nails were a hot mess! The edges were not filled in properly and you could still see the bare nail where there was no gel/polish. I asked him to fix it and he did a poor job. I was pressed for time so I told him I would have to skip out on the pedi, but he insisted it would be fast. This time I got a different tech, and she did an okay job, but the polish she used was cheap and started chipping within a couple of days! Money wasted. At the end, he said he was going to do me a favor and only charge me $3 for having him remove existing gel from my nails. A whopping $2 savings! I'm so honored. Pffftttt. Not coming back. THIS PLACE IS TRASH PERIOD! I can't believe this place is still opened after all the bad reviews and you bet I'm going to get the state board to re evaluate their business. walked in to this "nail shop" Friday afternoon (keep in mind I've been coming here since I was a teen) to get a fresh set of nails. So I walk in with my 5 year old daughter and the first thing I see is a very moody and very unhappy man (nail tech) that rudely approaches me asking what I want, I politely tell him " I need my nails done; full set", I then get approached by a different lady that starts to discuss pricing since I wanted the color acrylic that was on display by their nail polish counter. As she starts to tell me that the color acrylic I want is "too expensive" keep in mind pricing was never my concern; so as I agreed to the $40 for the full set she continues by telling me that she'd look for a gel color so that it matches the acrylic I had already agreed to. So they won't have to use the actual acrylic, I then said "you know what, I'm going to pick a color instead and get basic nails" cause obviously my choice of nails was too complicated for the nail tech to process through his mind. I proceeded by sitting down and as he started doing my nails I told him "please make the nails a bit thicker, the last time I got them done here I had to keep coming back for repairs" (keep in mind, when my nails break I usually get them done for free at every other nail place; this place charges $8 per repair) After that comment was made the nail techs demeanor changed from bad to worse, his reply was "if you want thicker with the color you requested its going to look very very ugly" and he kept rambling about why and how ugly it will look. My demeanor changed as well because .. 1st off I can be very understanding if there's a rush on nails and he doesn't want to take long 2nd off they were dead empty in there on a Friday afternoon which is strange because that's when us ladies /men want to have our nails freshly done or pedis 3rd off nobody asked for his negative opinion let alone nobody needs the bad vibes After hearing Charlie browns teachers voice in the background I then heard "do you understand" and I clearly said " no I don't, so you mean to tell me just because I want you to apply a bit more acrylic to make my nails strong and with the color I picked it's going to look ugly" and he flat out said "yes" (probably in hopes that I'd be like those ladies that give in and ask him to just do whatever he felt suited me... WRONG!!) I Told him, "look if you don't want to do the job because of laziness then bye" and I took my daughter with me and we left; also left the part out where he glued on the nail tips and I ended up taking them off at home. I went to this salon because it's right by my house. There's about a million nail salons around but I gave this lucky place a shot because they had some sign up advertising their low prices. I got a spa pedicure and manicure the and it was okay. I had asked for pink and white toes and had picked red for my nails. As I was reading a magazine I happened to look down and the woman was painting my toes red. I said "NO, I wanted pink and white"... she was very apologetic and offered to re do them and although I was pretty annoyed, I felt bad so I just said it was fine and to leave it. She had thought I wanted pink and white fingers and red toes. Misunderstanding.....other than that my toes and fingers looked great and they gave me a card where after like 9 visits I get a free treatment. 3 weeks later I phoned in to get a full set and pedi, I asked for Nina (the same woman). They told me to come right in. It was Sunday afternoon and there was noone in there. They sat me in a spa chair and I wondered if they were going to be applying my nails at the same time as I'd seen them do with a lady the last time I was in, or maybe they had assumed I wanted Nina to do both my nails and toes? Nope, they were just doing my feet in the spa chair while two other workers sat and chatted. Then the upselling started, so I said sure to the foot scrub +$5.... and I said sure to the leg scrub +$5.... the chair was okay although I'd rather save $5 and get my nails and feet done at once! They didn't give me that option. It was hotter than Hades in there and my back was sweating all over the seat. Another woman finally came in for a pedi and they closed the open door. It didn't get any cooler so I'm unsure if they put on the A/C. I sat uncomfortably watching a vietnamese concert where everyone was dancing in fatigues. Hmm, I didn't know there was vietnamese rappers. Intriguing. Finally, it was time for my acrylics! I was moved to a table and a man "Jonny" began doing my nails. All these people are pretty nice, and although I was happy to get my fingers and toes done, it was well after 3pm now and I was really starting to get anxious. I kept looking at the clock and Jonny kept trying to joke with me about how it was good for my husband to watch my son while I'm out. Finally my nails were done and looked really nice. I went to wash my hands before getting the clear polish on....as I walked back to my seat another girl waiting to get her nails done was ushered into it. I was told to sit down.... I looked around and asked where??? My shirt was stuck to my back and there was sweat dripping down my leg. I sat in a seat next to the girl and they said they would apply gel to my nails. I was like "Huh", and Jonny goes "Yeah Gel, its better". I'm like, how much? He said $5...."NO, just paint it with polish" God, are you serious? I just spent $10 extra foot scrubs, not to mention they stuck me in a damn spa chair for an additional $5 and I just wanted to get the hell out! They had used a more pink color on my nails than I normally use, but that didn't bother me until the girl who was getting her nails done said "Hey I want the pinker color" and Jonny informed her it was "More expensive" Hello, why didn't he explain that to me? I said "Hey I wanted the more natural looking one." and he said "Oh you should have told me"... another misunderstanding I guess... My total charge was $53, with tip it was $63. I looked at the wall prices and they charge $28 for a pink and white fill. When I got home my nails were sore and I noticed one side of my thumb had the acrylic sticking way out. I had to file it down so it wouldn't stick into my skin. Jonny hadn't even used the pointed electric file under my nails at the end and I think they look a little thick. I come to The Nail spa because the location is close and convenient but like other nail places the people working there only talk to each other in their language which I don't mind since I speak 2 languages I can relate. Besides I just don't want to start a conversation I just want to sit relax and watch TV or play games on my phone. BTW The TV is always in Vietnamese also. The prices are good and I like the work they do on pedicures($13) manicures not so much and Eyebrow waxing not worth it you will have hair growth in 2 days. I don't know why but they keep changing the employees you will always get a different person and the last one I had was horrible, she rushed to get my pedicure done and seemed bothered. So his talking doing my nails.. finally done. 1) gel color all the way to my cuticles .. it looks runny.! Not clean. 2) my nails are not round or square, very deform. But I can't really tell with gel unless u look under. 3) he left a lot of glue under my nails.. that I noticed later after my hair kept getting caught in it. 4) My index finger is not crooked.. so why is my nail? I don't know how they stay in business. Johnny, the owner is rude and thinks he's doing every customer a favor by doing "his job". The salon is dirty and hot. I went in and he was with a customer so I asked how long I needed to wait for a fill. He said 30 minutes. I said okay please make an appointment for me in 30 min. He didn't like that so he changed it....no, no....I'll take you in 15 minutes. I was skeptical but I said okay. I waited outside and no one walked into the shop. After 15 minutes I walked back in but he wasn't finished....no big surprise. I waited another 10 minutes then a girl walked in he asked her what they needed. She said a full set. Then another woman walked in and he asked her what she needed and she said I brought my daughter pointing to the girl. She wants her nails done. After 10 more minutes he invited us both to sit down but he asked her to sit in front of him and he handed me cotton with acetone and told me to take the clear polish off my own nails. What is worse......when I was done he said "no , no -do it again". He continued doing the girls nails and I realized that he was taking care of her first. WHAT??? Are you kidding me! I went in on a Sunday to get a full set done there weren't any customers so I was helped right away. I showed the male tech what I wanted he said he could do it no problem (it was a very simple task since it was a nude color and a glitter accent). He was in a rush and would get annoyed by my request like how I wanted them shorter than what he wanted. I didn't like the color he chose because it was no where near what I wanted and he said he'd have to charge me to change it... umm no. He got glue all over my skin, acrylic everywhere but I didn't complain I just paid and left. So 3 days later I notice my acrylics are lifting off as if I had had them for 3 weeks the acrylic must have been old or cheap. I went back to let him know and he called me a liar in front of other customers he said it was normal I told him no it's not it's only been 3 days and he said he'd add glue then but that he didn't like that I was lying! I told him it was his fault and he told me to leave. I ended up going to a different nail salon where they took off the color and saw that all my nails were falling off. I was in the area and needed a pedicure. Thought I'd give this place a try. Worst mistake. I have issues with ingrown skin and notified them before they began. I asked that the person doing the pedicure to be careful. I asked her not to cut a certain area where my skin is thin to avoid bleeding and getting an infection. The guy interrupted and said if i didn't want to bleed, she could not do it. I offered to show her an alternate method and the guy stated that they did not have time for that. He asked me to go home and do it then return to finish the pedicure. This is the worst service I have ever received in the many years I have had pedicures. I also want to mention that they do not use liners for the tub when soaking your feet. Save yourself a headache and infection. Find a different place. read more

I went once and and 2 of my nails fell off after 4 days. RIDICULOUS. He got gel all over the skin around my nail and that dried which ended up getting caught in my hair. So I went the second time to get the nails that fell off fixed (I was nice enough to not have him redo all my nails) and he STILL did horrible. He didn't put an even amount of glitter on my nails and cut one nail shorter than all the others. He was very messy with the gel. When I told him you're getting gel on my skin he told me "wipe it off" like it's my job??? He told me "this is my job and this is how I work" "if you want go somewhere else" PATHETIC.
