My feelings about this location could best be summed up this way: it's complicated. They do ultimately get 4 stars because holy moly, have they taken great care of my 87 year-old grandmother when we have come in - this is her most favorite location to get a pedicure as a result. Each time she has had a pedicure, more than an hour has been spent on her feet and legs and she is just so appreciative - and you really can't beat the amazing price ($28, or $26 if you pay cash). For me, I have only had gel painted on my fingernails and I would say it is just OK. The gel polish they use seems to peel/chip quickly when compared to other brands but again, it's super affordable and certainly not bad. I would definitely book an appointment but don't expect that to be the exact time you get in, I do agree that their timing and ability to get people in and out in a timely manner is not great. They have never been terribly busy any of the times I've visited BUT always seem to be running behind - fair warning. read more

Today I saw Angela and she helped me pick colors to duplicate a picture of Taylor Swift's nails in anticipation of my Eras Tour concert I'm attending this week! She made it so fun and helped me pick out the right colors, and was very pleasant the entire time despite the extra time it took to paint each nail a different color. Very professional, kind, and she got me even more hyped up for my concert. I will definitely be back and I highly recommend! Salon is clean, there was something to watch on TV, and also music playing at just the right volume. The most UNPROFESSIONAL nail experience I've ever had. HORRIBLE! The lady nail tech with dark reddish/brown hair treated me unfairly and unkindly, YELLING at me in front of her customers to the point that I was brought to tears. And after reading the reviews, it looks like this isn't the first time that this has happened at this salon! It all started when she was unable to complete a simple two-finger design that she assured me she could do. She had to redo the design several times and ultimately ended up "freestyling" her own design because she couldn't do a simple swirl. I gave her grace and didn't criticize her for her inability to complete my design. Noticing her growing frustration while trying to complete the design, I requested that she simply paint the two nails a solid color, like the rest of my nails. At this point, she raised her voice and began yelling: "IT LOOKS GOOD" "THE TOP COAT WILL SMOOTH IT OUT" and "THE DESIGN LOOKS FINE". I told her she was making me uncomfortable, but she continued to throw her nail brushes onto the table, creating a scene in front of everyone in the salon. She was even arguing/screaming across the salon to another nail tech. At this point, I started to tear up due to her unwarranted rudeness toward me. She looked up at me and yelled, "OH, NOW YOU'RE CRYING? NOW YOU'RE MAKING ME FEEL BAD!" I did nothing to this woman and she was literally attacking me for no reason. I told her the reason for my emotion was because she was yelling at me when I didn't do anything wrong. I asked to be placed with another nail tech and she stormed away and continued to yell and created even more of a scene. I did not deserve to be yelled at or to feel disrespected and discriminated against. I'm not sure if it was due to my age or my race, but it was uncalled for and so incredibly unprofessional. The male nail tech, Ya, was incredibly kind and professional throughout my appointment. He apologized for her behavior and finished my services, which made me feel much more comfortable and calm. Because of her UNPROFESSIONALISM and NO DESIRE FOR CUSTOMER SATISFACTION for customer satisfaction, I will NEVER be back to this nail salon. Save yourself the money and DONT GO HERE! Also, read the other reviews because it seems this isn't the first time a situation like this has happened at this nail salon!!! That woman should be fired for what she did!! Horrible! read more

Hidden gem! Found this place on Yelp when I had a free morning and was driving around from place to place trying to squeeze in a manicure. After being turned away from two other places for not having an appointment, The Nail Spa got me right in and provided friendly service. I like having my gel removed while my pedicure is happening and they were great with efficiency. BEWARE! UNPROFESSIONAL, INEFFICIENT, AND UNHYGIENIC. We called and put in an appointment for 5, and as soon as we walk through the door we see that there are only 2 employees and a young child. At that point, no concerns were raised. My mother knew the exact color number that she wanted, and was told by Angelina that they had it. We made very clear exactly who was getting what services. I have been here before and received stellar services, but it seems that staff has changed. Despite the time we reserved, thinking we'd been seen to immediately, I waited an hour. My mom got her pedi done, and was also waiting for an hour and a half. I asked for a very hard design, and I understood that it wasn't going to be perfect. I think Ya is great. He remained patient and tried his best, my only complaint is that he caught my cuticles a few times and it hurt. When Angelina got to my mom's mani, she could not find the gel color my mom requested, and she did not even bother to sanitize the workspace. My mom had to request it. She tried really hard to match colors, and we appreciate that very much and acknowledge that she tried. But when you're paying for something, it should be worth it. My mom clearly stated, "It's okay, forget about the color." Angelina replied by blaming the mismatch on factory/supplier issues. She became careless, painting my mom's nails in a hurry, missing large portions of the nail. Insisting that she could fix it, she rushed to try many colors and ended up putting 6+ layers of paint on my mom's nails. When my mom pointed out that she wasn't covering each nail completely, Angelina exploded. She began yelling, IN FRONT OF HER CHILD, saying that my mom was cruel, saying that she was tired, and her child was hungry. This was so so unprofessional. It is not a client's fault that you are tired, or that you brought your child to your business. If it is your business, you have the power to say, "Sorry, I can't take any more clients today." When my mom got up, the ridiculous amount of paint easily peeled off. Angelina replied, "You must've put something on your nails." Why would we? We came here willingly for YOUR service, ready to PAY you, why would we waste THREE hours of our day? Would you sit silent listening to your mother getting yelled at? I yelled back at her because there is no way my mom could be responsible for her daughter! Completely unprofessional. She told me that I have no right to yell at her, to stay out of it. As your client, how can you act as if you control me? Finally, Angelina even had the audacity to tell my mom to stop fighting in front of her child, when she began yelling in the first place. Ya responded maturely, apologizing. He thought my mom did not like Angelina, because my mom requested that he do her mani. She did this because she thought Ya would match the colors, since he did my mom's pedi. Save yourself, do not come here. read more

I'm from out of town and was visiting my sister, who just moved to Carmel. I wanted to treat her and her daughter to some time at the salon. We found this place with such great reviews, but I should have paid closer attention to the bad ones. We called ahead and made a reservation, but with construction going on were about 20 minutes late, maybe a little less. As soon as we walked in the (I'm assuming based off other people's reviews) owner began to chastise us and tell us "it would have been better if you'd been here on time". Sorry, traffic, it happens. They have three technicians on staff and only one customer was getting a pedicure. But she kept on and on about it. It kinda got to a point where I wanted to ask 'do you want my money or not?' She then started to question us about my niece's age since she was going to get a kids pedicure. "She doesn't look 10! She's BIG for 10!" First of all, please stop giving my niece a complex, she's already very self-conscious, and secondly, do you see her mother? My sister is 5'10.5 without heels. "Should we have brought a birth certificate?" I asked. The woman finally relented. My sister was getting an acrylic set and the owner sat her down at a table while my niece and I sat on the couch to wait. When the little girl picked up the sample colors for the gel polishes, the owner comes running over and snatches it out of her hands. "Not for playing!" By this point, we should have left. Hindsight is 20/20, but c'mon. My sis starts getting worked on by the owner and my niece and I get sat in the pedicure chairs, which are comfy, I got to say. My technician is the man, I believe the owners husband, and my niece gets an older woman technician. (The original customer getting her pedicure was left waiting while we got started on.) While my sister is getting her nails prepped, another woman comes in complaining that her gel polish started peeling the next day and wants to get them repaired and a refund. This is where awkwardness ensues for real. The owner leaves my sister to repair this girl's nails and they are Arguing. We are all stunned into silence, but then my technician turns to me and asks how many top coats I get on my nails. Uh, please leave me out of this. I'm not even from here and this is my first time visiting your establishment. My niece and I are over halfway done with our pedicures by the time my sister even gets hers placed, because after the argument with the new customer the owner has to go in the back to calm down for awhile. When she returns, she starts loudly arguing with her husband, standing over him while he's working on me. I texted my sister that as soon as he finished my top coat, if she hadn't gotten started on yet (now over an hour later than when we'd arrived!), we'd leave and find a place to get hers done at. Too bad, the owner went back and Finally got to work on her. OH! And the original pedicure lady who was there when we came in? STILL sitting there with, by now, a cold towel on her legs. After my pedicure was done, I went outside to take a call, but as soon as the pedicure lady came out I Had to ask her: "Have you been here before? Do you typically like this place?" - This was my second time. It was so weird. I don't think I'll be back. I came last week for a manicure and they did great, but this was just too long and so awkward! Agreed. In the end, my sister's nails came out janky, with two off center and reminiscent of the stand-up comedian who made a joke about this exact issue. I heard of this salon through a friend of mine, so I drove 20 minutes to check it out. The atmosphere is cozy and modern, the staff is so friendly and professional. I got the deluxe pedicure and it was one of the best smelling and relaxing massages I've had in a long time. The lady shaped my toes perfectly and took a long time paying attention to every last detail especially when she was painting them. I get a mani/pedi every 2-3 weeks and I'll definitely be making this a regular place even though it's not the closest one from my house. Absolutely worth the trip!! (And they're right next to dunkin donuts. How bad can that be? Lol) I also brought my husband along with me today, and he said it was the best pedicure/massage he's ever had as well. Awful experience!! Forced my daughter to change from French pedicure to regular because they overbooked themselves. We made an appointment for 3PM, they didn't take us until almost 4. This happens every time we come. This isn't our first choice because of this very issue, but everyone else was booked in the area. They need to do a better job scheduling. Also, they should finish the services they agree to instead of taking walk in after walk in and forcing the customers half way through services to change because "French and gel takes too long!" We came for a mother daughter appointment and they wouldn't let me sit in the chair next to my daughter after I was finished even though they didn't clean it or put anyone in it afterward. I'm paying a decent price, so don't see the harm in sitting next to my daughter if they weren't going to use the chair. Just very disappointed. Will not be back. UPDATE: After posting this review the owner reached out to me to make things right and apologize. I truly appreciate their willingness to remedy the situation, so am changing my review from a 1 star to 4 star. read more

Super disappointed. I took my 10 year old for pedicures. The person doing mine seemed brand new, didn't ask me how I wanted them and then rounded them out and cut hem down. It wasn't even relaxing because I had to watch the whole thing. Went to check out and the lady took my credit card with her in the back to have a personal conversation. 5 good minutes later I am still standing there and can't leave without my card. Today I went in for a new gel acrylic set. I've been a regular for awhile but today I was stepping out of my comfort zone with a bright color and a bold shape. My nails turned out PERFECT! I wanted to go during my lunch hour at work, so I made an appt. The owner was not friendly when I walked in, and very awkwardly mumbled to me to sit at a chair. A woman who did not know what she was doing attempted to shape my nails and cut my cuticles. After she had finished eight fingers, a woman came in for a pedicure. The owner told the woman helping me to get up and give the woman a pedicure - I thought she would start the water, but no, just left me at the chair. 10 minutes later, I expressed that I was in a hurry, and the owner yelled at the guy to get me out of their quickly. We arrived to our appointment and were told that there was only one person that could do acrylics.
