Horrible service, specifically from the receptionist. Management should look into hiring someone that won't drive customers away :/ Yeah sorry Michael I didn't know you consider leaving dogs in a kennel without even giving them water for multiple hours as babysitting... I'm sure any current or future clients would love to be aware of the fact that you treat their dogs so poorly after they have just received a service. And yes that has happened to my family members dogs on multiple occasions. Also I have personally had experience with your extremely rude receptionist because again even though I am not a client (thank god) I have picked up dogs from there before. She has a bad attitude and all around poor customer service. read more

We decided to try Mutt Puddle with low expectations because our dog hates getting a bath at the vets office or any other place except home and because it was so cold out we could not do it at home. We ended up having a successful bath for our 85 pound Lab. The tub is big enough for our dog and had an anchors at the end for his collar. The lady at the front desk was very helpful and showed us everything we needed to do and supplied all items required for a good bath and fresh towels. The hypoallergenic shampoo for dogs was an added bonus. The dryers were powerful but not overly so. We will be back again. This place is great in our books read more

I've used MP for years with great success but yesterday they absolutely butchered my Scotties beard, eye brows, and skirt that takes years to grow. There was some matting but their was no phone call or options. They just ruined her look snd when we communicated our horror we were " ignored" Poor grooming and even worse communications and customer care read more

My wife & I have taken our dogs to the Mutt Puddle in McKinney for several years now, and continue to do so. From the owners to the employees, our experiences have been very positive. Our pups are small & fragile, but they are always handled gently by the groomers. read more

We went to Mutt Puddle with low expectations because our dogs are so finicky. One is afraid everything including candy wrappers while the other absolutely detests water and will not enter any bathrooms. We ended up having a successful bath for both of them. The tubs were big enough and had two anchors at each end. We were able to bathe them both at the same time in the same tub. We were able to fit three adults around one tub without issue. The girl was very helpful and answered any questions we had. The water was warm. The shampoo is not very sudsy and had hypoallergenic shampoo for dogs will skin allergies. The hair dryers were powerful but not overly so. We cannot wait to go back again. The dogs didn't detest it. It's a wonderful service. Well done!!! read more

I've been a long time client, but the management and customer service here has become non-existent. Calls and a message to make an appointment went unanswered and unreturned stopped in to make sure they were still opened. Female at the desk on a personal call, waited around to be acknowledged, nothing, finally left. If they are this way with human customers I'm afraid of how they are with their four legged clients. So very sad. I guess yet another victim of COVID and the great resignation. read more

Went in for grooming for my dog. A bath is part of it. She left with strawberry milkshake still on her nose and somehow she was dry after only an our. She's always still damp from a bath for many hours no matter how long you try to blow dry her...they have a lot of hair. So expensive for the results that we received. read more

We have used Ragina as our groomer for the last 12 years at the McKinney location. She's the absolute best and treats my dog as her very own. We couldn't be happier! read more

We took our dog there a week or so ago. The people are reasonably friendly, but the actual cut was not very good. Oddly, when we picked her up, the groomer wasn't even there to discuss what was done or check with us about our satisfaction. The whole thing just wasn't the level of service I feel we should get for the money we paid. Not going back. Oh, and there's a tip jar on the front desk asking for money for the greeter in addition to the tip for the groomer. (There was a note on it indicating that the greeters need tips too.) Sorry, but no thanks. I'm only going to tip once for my dog's haircut. To ask for it is a little bit on the tacky side. read more

I also have always used PetSmart grooming. I have never had a problem and was always pleased with the results. However the price was always different and I always had the same thing done. Also, I was paying extra to have him express, a service they recommend for older dogs to minimize the length of time down to 1 1/2 hours. I recently moved to McKinney and due to the age and health of my Pomeranian, I decided to try something new. I found the Mutt Puddle online, read some reviews and thought I will try it out. My Pom is 15 years old and has a collapsed trachea, so he definetely needs some extra TLC when it comes to grooming. The Mutt Puddle had no problems meeting my requests and he was done in about an hour. So I decided I would try them out with my Australian Shepherd who hates to leave the house and has all kinds of quirks. She is 8 years old and has never been to the groomer (I always did myself and I am not very good). She gets sick in the car, doesnt like to be on a leash (which is one of the reasons she never went to PetSmart, I was always worried she would get off her leash in a busy parking lot). When we got there she was terrified to get out of the car, she did get off her leash but I finally got her in the door. When I cam to pick her up, she looked FANTASTIC, she had bows in her ears and was happy. The staff is friendly and attentative, you can tell that they really LOVE animals. I will definetely return again and again. I have recommended them to 3 of my friends and they have all been happy with the results too. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place for your furry, four-legged family members. read more

We stopped here to wash our dogs while traveling. Very nice facilities for self service. Staff was helpful and friendly. Prices were a little higher than other such places but not out of reason. Place is hard to find as it's well back from the road among other buildings. If I am back in the area and the dogs need a bath I will be back read more

I've been taking my Bernese Mountain Dog here regularly for years to be groomed (shaved during summer and bathed all year). Recently picked her up and she wasn't in her usual beautiful finery after a bath and I contacted Mike the owner. He was extremely kind and helpful and offered to have her re-bathed for free! The second time, she was at her most beautiful. Thank you Mutt Puddle and Mike for being so awesome with your customers and for doing such a great job! read more

Me and My Husband are new to the McKinney Area. Since we moved here we were having a hard time finding a loving, caring, and dedicated groomer that our boy was comfortable with. We came across Mutt Puddle and thought we would give them a try. I'm so glad we did! Mariah greeted us with a smile and was interested in what kind of cut we wanted. We explained the specifics of what he normally gets. She made us feel comfortable and at ease and he was excited to be there. When we came to pick up Oso she made sure that the cut was what we wanted and yes we are very well pleased! Thank you all for the amazing service and work! read more

The place is very dirty. There is dog hair all over the self serve tubs. The lady at the front desk seemed put out by our presence. They also have a sign on the door for you to wear a mask but this lady was not. I have a 100 lb German Shepard who is 12 and it's hard for us to get her up in the tub. This lady didn't even offer to help us or find someone to help us get her in the tub. The whole place just gave off a dirty and unwelcoming vibe. Would not go back. read more

Took our full bred maltese in and everything went good (so i thought). When she was brought out she was trembling - i didnt think anything of it at the time. Now a week later and she is in constant pain around her neck and trembling all the time. Seems like she is injured or has some neck/back issue - i believe she was dropped. Not going back.... read more

Well, we used to go to the Fairview location quite often. However, over the last few months service has drastically gone down. Grooming quality decreased and the amount of time I had to leave my dog there increased. Just last week I was attempting to make an appointment but nobody would answer the phone. I tried from 9 - 11. Called the McKinney location and they answered right away. Found a different groomer in Allen. read more

We have seen a great decline in service and quality for their operation.over the last 2 1/2 years. Had to take our dog to the vet after last visit. Will not be returning, after speaking with our pet sitter who had originally recommend them, she no long does after hearing many poor experience. She now recommends Red Dog Paw Spa. read more

I recently moved Out to the Mckinney area and needed a new grooming spot for my miniature golden doodle. I used to take him to the vet where I would have to drop him off at early hours and pick up late afternoon. That used to cost me close to $100. I went to Mutt puddle and was thrilled that I could make an appointment and not have to drop off my dog just to sit in the crate all day before grooming. They got him Bathed and groomed within an hour and a half. DAnd my cost was almost half the price before tip. The staff was super friendly and I will for sure be going back! read more

I have been using this groomer since they moved to the neighborhood. I have a Shih Tzu that goes about every other month, and she is always a hot mess with matting. She doesn't always come out perfect (she will not hold still), but she always looks great. It wasn't cheap, but I am no dog stylist (I've tried), and she was always happy to go. Usually we are greeted with smiles and familiar faces. I went in today and noticed that it was empty (strange, Saturdays used to be packed), and the usual nice lady was not there. The gentleman that greeted me informed me that all he could do for me was shave my dog down to the skin: entire body, ears, and face. I have never seen a shaved Shih Tzu, and was concerned that this was never an issue before. She was matted and it's 104 degrees...so I thought OK, and asked the cost. I figured it would be different since there was no actual cut, but was told it would be full price. I can shave my dog at home! During this conversation my dog started shaking like crazy. While I wish there was someone to overhear this conversation, I am glad no one else was there. I do not trust this place with my pets, and will not return ever. read more

In the past I have not been a fan of the grooming places due to my dogs were either scared when they were done, have an injury that I found, or the price did not match with the quality of service. I used a mobile grooming for a long time until the owner sold the business and was not the same. I ventured back out to see about brick and mortar groomers again. Prior to MIke owning this establishment I was not very impressed and stop going. I decided to give this place a shot again hearing there was a new owner who was passionate about quality care of grooming pets. I have been rather impressed with the quality of service, the care they take in grooming my pets. They don't seems scared or rattled as before and welcome the staff. The price might seem a bit higher than others, but the quality is what you are getting and care. You need to remember every breed is different and individuals likes are different, so that alone can be tough. They will always do what they can to accommodate last minute which is huge for me. Once you find a groomer you like stick with them and they will also do what they can to get with the same groomer if requested. I can honestly say you wont wrong with Mutt Puddle as long as mike owns the place. I have found that if you ever have an issue he will be on top of it and do what is right for the pet/owner. read more

It can be hard to get an appointment here but they do a great job on my 4 year old Bichon. The price is comparable to what PetSmart charges But you get more for your money. My dog always comes out looking better here than PetSmart. read more

Giving Allie a bath at home has become next to impossible. Kills my back and knees!! This place was awesome!! I have taken my dog here twice, mainly because I can always get a last minute appointment (that should have been my first clue). The first time they shaved her mole off, it bled for a few hours. The second time, they cut her leg when shaving it. The grooming service is horrible. The customer service is not good, prices are too high. I will never go back. read more

Went to the mutt puddle after a trip to the dog park. We had a great time and my bulldog Cooper got a job sweeping their floors for them.

I don't know what they did, but when my mom went to pick up my dog she said he was shaking because he was so scared/hurt... Which he has never done before... He has also gotten ear infections several times after being groomed here, which indicates that they are NOT careful when bathing the animals. I will not be bringing Oakley back read more

Had a very positive experience here last winter when I was pet-sitting & the long-haired dog had a very messy accident. Our bathroom was under construction so I had no place to bath him & it was too cold for an outside bath. Worked me right in & I got the dog cleaned up post-haste. read more

We brought our Mini Goldendoodle there and was happy with Marraya's work. We brought her there today and she came out looking like a rat not a doodle. She shaved her down and she was not matted. When I told them how terrible she looked we were told that it would grow back. After paying $75.00 that is not the answer I wanted to hear. They offered no compensation and not even an apology. They said they were short a groomer so I'm sure Marraya was busy and just felt it would just take less time to just shave our Penny down. Just Terrible. Will not return. Penny does not look like our dog. Just Horrible work. read more

I took my Shih Tzu puppy there on 2 separate occasions. For his first cut he had the Teddy Bear cut. When I first went in the receptionist Diane was very friendly. She introduced me to the groomer and the groomer was so friendly to my puppy. He liked her immediately and we had no problems. The 2nd visit was a completely different experience. I couldnt personally take him in so my sister took him in for me. I was completely shocked how he came back to me. He was shaved down to the skin ( even his tail) He looked a mess! The places where he wasnt completely shaved he was jagged with uneven pieces all over. They let him leave their establishment with his face HALF CUT!!! Allowing him to leave that way shows the lack of integrity of this place. They also did NOT clip his nails which is part of the basic package. I was furious. I paid over the phone before my sister picked him up w/ a generous tip and they didnt mention any problems to me. When I took him back to have the problems corrected the owner told me that he wouldnt sit still and he was very scared having the clippers on his face. ( It was clear they had nicked him on his face, the half of his face that they did cut) . His ears were matted which I knew but they claimed his entire body was matted. I know for a fact that is untrue because I brush and comb his fur religiously. The whole experience was playing the blame game insinuating I was not taking proper care of him and that he was not a good client. They pointed out to me how the other adult shih tzu's were calm while getting haircuts. He is not an adult he is still a puppy and has to get used to all the loud noises and the new environment. This was only his 2nd cut ever. They then proceeded to let me know how they spent additional time on him which they normally wouldnt do and how I should be appreciative of them going out of their way to do so. They claimed 4 groomers had to detain him just to give him a cut. That is laughable he is less than 10 lbs. If he was such an issue they should have not attempted the cut and let me know the issue when my sister arrived. Instead of blaming me or my dog they should have offered a solution of what we could do moving forward. This situation happened about 2 months ago. I think about it periodically and I am still upset about it so I decided to write this review. I was beyond disrespected and I will NEVER go back here. read more

6/4/2015 - I will never take my poodle back there again. Full charge for a partial clip - that is crazy and the quality was horrid. You can not charge by piece work to groom a poodle. This was the first time I did not tip the groomer. Tobie will never return again!!!!! Mike thank you for that offer but I must decline. The person who took my call knew I wanted a face, feet, tail and tummy along with the bath. I do not appreciate her lying. Also Tobie's nails needed to be trimmed because on his last full cut visit the groomer missed his nails. Again thank you for the offer. read more

PSA: DONT take your dog here! We took our golden & when I went to pick her up she was basically non responsive to me( didn't get up when i went to get her, no tail wag) and had a limp. The girl at the desk saw it and went to ask the groomer- told no issues with her grooming. In 12 years i have NEVER seen her act like that! The rest of the day didn't want to walk much at all & just seemed sad. We noticed blood on her nails. Yes, her nails were in need of cutting badly, we knew and admitted that. Someone returned our call today, but not the owner who was also the one that groomed her (even tho she was there) We requested the she call us. She finally did and denied pearls nails even bleeding or having any issues and said maybe they bled after the fact. Ummm...no. We said we understood if they had bled but it needed to be conveyed so that we knew why she didn't want to be walking much- still denied. Pearl seems better today but if you can't even be honest with people about nail trimming, what else are you going to hide? Pearl is like our child, Never again!! read more
