If I could give Legacy Grooming 100 out of 5 stars, I would!!!…read more I spent2yrs after moving to Texas trying groomers. I took our dogs all over McKinney, Allen, Plano & Frisco trying to find a groomer who could SAFELY AND PROPERLY handle TRULY deshedding winter coated dogs before I found Legacy Grooming. I love that the owners are husband & wife and that they are the ones grooming dogs too so it's not just a rotating door of "lightly experienced people who wash dogs" but experienced owners & a very small staff who remember you, your dogs and most importantly your dogs personality. We have been seeing them for almost 4yrs and have brought in a total of 11 dogs. 5 of my own dogs and 6 foster dogs. PERSONAL DOGS & with winter coats 3 of the 5 of my dogs are winter and/or long coats that require special attention and should NEVER, for the health and safety of their coat, be trimmed or shaved. EVER. 2 Siberian Huskies and a Great Pyrenees Which multiple previous groomers "who specialized in winter coats" suggested be done. So finding Legacy Grooming was heaven sent bc I HATE hair (ya I know) & waisting money on poorly de-shed dogs was super frustrating. They also took care of my senior dog with amazing care. At about 8-9yrs old grooming can become very hard because of the stress on the dog so they were amazing about scheduling him on quieter week day appointments so it would be less stressful, and though we have lost our oldest pup since, I'll always be so grateful to them for handling him care bc I was always so dang fearful of trimming an older dogs nails especially since he had black nail beds. FOSTER RESCUE DOGS Because we had had such amazing experiences with our personal dogs once we started fostering I had a chat with the owners about bringing in my foster dogs for just basic washes and nail trims. Not so much bc they needed it but bc it is so important to get dogs acclimated to those services so as they grow older their fur-ever homes would have an easier time continuing them. Thankfully they have amazingly good prices so I was able to do that for our fosters. Of course just like our personal dogs, when I picked them up, there were zero signs of fear or anxiety which means they were on the right path for the future thanks to Legacy's entire staff. This is definitely my fur-EVER groomer!

They did great! This was my first time coming here and they did amazing with my dog. Recommendread more

**WARNING!! READ THE MUTT PUDDLE POLICIES BEFORE GIVING THEM YOUR BUSINESS!!…read more As a new customer, I recieved that red carpet treatment that makes you think you've finally found "the place." FYI: Both the McKinney and Allen locations are represented by the same ownership and management team. My review is based on my firsthand experience as a customer. The lesson I learned this time is that the true character of a business isn't revealed when everything goes right. It's revealed when something goes wrong. A really bad grooming job grows back, and I could have easily laughed that off and moved on. RED FLAG #1 What I couldn't overlook was that my tiny 5lb Maltese had a puncture wound (the size of a pencil tip eraser) under her chin and a belly covered in abrasions (guessing from hot clippers). **They did not report it. RED FLAG #2 When I got home and discovered the injuries, I emailed TMP immediately. I expected: concern for her well-being and a sincere effort to make things right. Instead, I got a lengthy email about "miscommunication" regarding the grooming. I got an apology. What I didn't get was the one thing I was looking for: genuine human concern for my injured dog. RED FLAG #3 The solution was never complicated. A simple acknowledgment (regardless of how it happened). My tiny dog came home hurt and that mattered. A refund. This experience was extremely upsetting for my family, traumatic for our tiny Tina, and I worry about her demeanor when I take her to a new groomer. She's such a tiny baby and to minimalize our situation has been heartbreaking. RED FLAG #4 One of the most concerning things I discovered was The Mutt Puddle's liability policy. Their policy (search for it online and read it) states; that pet owners assume all responsibility when leaving their pets in the salon's care and that The Mutt Puddle and its staff will not be held responsible for injuries, deaths, medical bills, clipper burns, cuts, stress-related issues, or nearly any other problem that may arise during grooming. **This is why they didn't report the injuries, it didn't matter, their policy protects them regardless of what happened! Prospective customers should do their homework before choosing either salon. Do deep search and read their policies in full, employee ratings, the social media reports, reviews and responses from management. Grooming salon's in Texas do not require groomers to be licensed and this means liability, quality control and any kind of regulation is nonexistent! Before you take your baby to The Mutt Puddle.. decide whether their approach to customer service, accountability, and animal care aligns with your expectations and ethics. At the end of the day, we are trusting salons like this one with our beloved babies. Our pets rely entirely on us to protect them and on the professionals caring for them to uphold the trust placed in their hands. For all animal lovers, that trust is sacred. We've lost complete trust in The Mutt Puddle and will not go back. They have taught me the difference between customer service and reputation control. Good luck with that business model. .

Our regular grooming place wasn't available and we really needed our dogs groomed. We made an appointment at 10:30 am. I dropped my 2 small dogs off and told them how I wanted them groomed. The lady at the front desk was okay but seemed like she was annoyed that I was taking up her time. I left to run some errands and wait for them to call and let me know they were ready. At 1pm I still hadn't heard anything so I called. I asked if they were close to being done because I had to go to work. She said "no one told me there was a time schedule with this grooming". Really? It's been almost 3 hours and my dogs were not finished. She then said she would try to get finished. I then said I will come by at 2:30 because I have to go to work. I came back at 2:30 (now 4 hours after I dropped them off) and picked them up. The front desk lady didn't say "sorry for the delay" or acknowledge that it took 4 hours. She is one of those people who really rub you the wrong way and don't seem to care about the customers. Also.... They didn't listen to how I wanted them groomed. Not a big deal, but they made the dogs head "poofy". I specifically said "no poof". I wanted an even, short cut for both dogs, but they didn't listen to me. Last thing.... They put the doggie neckerchiefs on too tight also, I had to cut them off when I got home. Again, it was mostly the lady at the front desk. Because of her, I won't come back.

I call her the dog whisperer because my dogs absolutely love her. I can mention her name and they get so excited to go for baths and grooming.
