This is my 3rd time over the last couple of years and don't plan to return. We went for lunch last Sunday and the table was barely clean, the booth was very uncomfortable, as is probably old. Our order consisted of a Cobb salad that looked pitiful and a turkey club that although the turkey was good, was piled high with lettuce instead of turkey. Walking in on a Saturday, you would expect to find a breakfast joint buzzing with smells of fried bacon and lively chattering of crowds. The Muffin Tin was quite the opposite. Just a few tables with couples and no signs of muffins anywhere other than a few in the display case. Being known as The Muffin Tin, you would expect to find a menu dedicated to different arrays of Muffin specialties, but again quite the opposite. My country skillet contained rancid hamburger meat, decent potatoes, and two eggs on top. The sausage gravy was really the same rancid hamburger meat chopped up with cream and pepper. Well you have to go in and try it, but for me there will be no second time. It's average cafeteria food with regUlar prices, but did not impressed me. I rather continue to go to Denny's or IHOP for breakfast. Sausages were burned and cold. Everything is extra so you figure that one yourself . No straws are available here nether, that's a negative for me and my family. I don't have to drink from a cup of glass that may not be 100% clean. Service was good and friendly . I am constantly on the hunt for new breakfast places to grab a nice savory meal on a weekend morning. I'll admit I was really really curious to try the Muffin Tin, despite the fact that I'm not the biggest muffin fan. However, I figured if ever there was a place to become a convert it would be there. Inside is warm and feel like your standard suburban bagel bar kind of breakfast place. I did like the murals on the wall for an extra cozy feeling. The tables are all pushed together so if it is really crowded I could see it being like a family style meal with your neighbors. Much to my disappointment, I couldn't find anything from the muffin counter that I thought was worth the carbs. Yes they looked perfectly lovely, lined up and supposedly hot from the oven. However, they were out of the only flavors I actually wanted to try, the zucchini and the pumpkin, and to be honest all the other standard flavors failed to pique my interest. Hanging my head in embarrassment, I'll confess I did not try the muffins at a place called the Muffin Tin. Pretty pathetic. That being said, if you are a muffin aficionado they've got corn, blueberry, chocolate chip, coffee cake and a couple more choices to fill you up. Instead, I opted for an omelette with spinach, onions and swiss. It was definitely fine, nothing crazy inventive nor particularly exciting though. The potatoes it came with were generous and filling, again your standard fare taste-wise. My orange juice was reasonably fresh and there wasn't an overabundance of pulp. My biggest complaint would probably be that they had two board of specials (with different choices on each), but I completely missed them while ordering off the menu. Kind of wish I had known since the slightly more interesting omelette options like a sundried tomato and feta were all there. Why not just put them on one board, and either mention them to patrons or put a copy of the specials as an insert with the menu? Otherwise though our service was great and it was an decent breakfast option for your basic choices. I've had better, but I've also had much worse. Again though, I did not have the muffins so perhaps that is the tipping point to greatness! read more

Run as fast as you can! This is a dirty run down disgusting!! I never in my life sent food back! I order steak and eggs. When my plate arrived I got a wiff of sewage, not thinking anything I took a bite of the steak and it was what smelled! I just bit into sewage!!! Disgusting nasty gross! This place is a great southern styled continental breakfast place, the restaurant makes a wide variety of its own muffins ( my favorite is the chocolate chip) they'll also cut them up and grill them for you which is awesome. The customer service is great here, if your in the neighborhood and in the mood for breakfast id definitely recommend this place. I've been here only twice, didn't have a muffin. When I go out for breakfast, which is rare, I wanna EAT! My grandmother did try the corn muffin, which we were told came right out of the oven, but it was not warm at all, and she thought it was too sweet. In any case, the scrambled eggs are pretty good. I tried the turkey patties, a new thing, and they were quite good. The pancakes are delicious, fluffy, the best part of my meal definitely. The home fries are golden and perfect. My dad loves their corn beef hash, if you like that sort of thing. The coffee is average. Our waitress was really friendly and came by our table several times to freshen up our coffee. I would eat here again but it's not the first place I would choose for breakfast. read more

The wait staff ignored our requests for service when they walked by us. 3 other sets of customers came in after us, and all got menus, drinks, and orders were taken. Just came from breakfast here. We were regulars. Never again will I go back! We witnessed a server take a muffin out of the display case, drop it on the floor, and then put it back in the display case with the other muffins. We notified the owner immediately and they were apologetic and were adamant about knowing which server did it. We did not say, but felt pretty confident he knew who did...and even witnessed the whole thing since he was right there. He went to the muffin case, pulled out the dropped muffin (how did he know which one it was) and went Into the kitchen with it. Which we also thought was strange considering the garbage was right there! By the time my meal came, I lost my appetite. I lost all trust in anything that was going on in that kitchen. When our server gave us our check, I went up to cashier (the other owner) told her I didn't even eat my food bc of what I witnessed and she made me pay any way!!!! Most expensive crappy diner meal I have ever had, the eggs tasted like the powder eggs used for survival, the biscuit tasted like it was made of eraser dust. Yuck. The potatoes were good, pretty much everything sucked. The tables and chairs were dirty and the waitress was not too happy to take care of us. The only reason I'm giving two stars is because the whole staff said hello and welcome as we came through the door. I just tried a GRILLED MUFFIN here and I'm about to die of happiness. I could have a second grilled muffin and a coffee and need nothing else in life. They cut the muffin into 3 slices, like you would cut a loaf of bread, and throw it on the grill just like that. It comes out warm, with toasty edges and glistening with amazing-ness. Great breakfast place... never really been there for anything but. Very reasonable prices, and the service has never disappointed me. I live within walking distance from this place and didn't find it until my sister and her boyfriend had me join them one morning. The place is usually busy, but I've never had to wait more than a few minutes. Don't understand why most of the better breakfast places tend to be lacking on cleanliness though. Such a great little spot hidden away in pinecrest. It was bit hard to find since its hidden in a shopping center. BUT i love tbat noone knows about this hidden secret. No lines, no waiting. The service was awesome super nice staff. The grilled muffins ... one word AMAZING. The specials on the board are myst haves. I had the steawberry fields - stuffed french toast with marscapone and cream and more whipped cream. It was dessert for breakfast. Just found my breakfast spot. Granted it was the 1st, but still... we did not order any baked turkeys or specialty pot roasts or anything - we just had eggs and bacon (maybe they had to bake some bread for our toast?). My review on this restaurant is not so much on the food (which is good but not great) but more on the level of customer service. I found a hair in my food, which of course I sent back and received a new plate 45 minutes later. When I told the manager that I would pay for the meal but I felt they should comp it because of the hair and time. She said no... That I ate the meal so there was nothing to comp. she even asked me if I had the hair so she could compare it to her employees hair. 1) gross 2) how stupid can you be to ask if I would keep the hair. Do not go to this restaurant. Period. Mediocre, overpriced food and incredibly rude staff. The interior looks like it's stuck in 1970 and hasn't been cleaned since then. Dirty, unorganized bakery displays with unappetizing food. The biggest drawback that "takes the cake" so to speak is the rude staff : I found a coupon on their website homepage for 15% off but do not have a printer. The coupon didn't say anything about printing required to get the discount. I accessed the website on my cellphone and showed them the coupon, and the cranky old lady manager literally yelled in my face "there's no way I'm taking that cell phone coupon!! No one has brought in a cell phone coupon in 27 years!!!" She proceeded to refuse to split my bill because she "already put it in the register." We are almost in 2012 and any establishment should be able to split a tab. In this devastating recession the customer should be the number one priority if a restaurant wants to survive. Because of this horribly rude experience I will never be going back and neither should you. Avoid it like the plague. read more

Check your eggs before you eat it! Ordered a spinach omelet and it came with two thinly sliced tomato. I ate the tomatoes and a 1/4 of the omelet, then looked in middle of the omelet and it was partially raw. Yellow slimy raw egg! The cheese was provolone so it was white and the spinach is green folks. The manager there didn't want to refund me for the omelet. I ate two little pieces of tomato and a little piece of omelet and the bitch would only give half off. Don't eat there people you might get some type of poisoning! Food was so bland too. After reading reviews on YELP, decided to give this place a try. Went for breakfast on a Sunday am around 10am. Service was horrible! I asked for coffee and it had the grain in it...literally almost spit out. We ordered country fried steak which is extremely overpriced for a tiny flank and the sausage gravy it came with was gross. Also, ordered the country breakfast skillet which was not very tasty at all. Not sure what all the hype on reviews were about the home fries...they were ok, nothing spectacular. The waitress was a sweet older lady but extremely absent-minded. Don't think we will come here again:( read more
