After researching our options, we decided the U-Pack was the way to go, and I'm really glad we did. Customer service was incredible, everyone was so friendly and helpful, answering my questions patiently. Goods arrived in great condition, and the only things that were damaged were because we didn't pack them carefully enough. We can definitely tell that some jostling happened, but that's to be expected. They came in under budget, which seems like it almost never happens. I have nothing but great things to say about them. They dropped off the container when they said they would, and picked it up promptly when we were finished. They found a creative way to park the container safely in our driveway in Anchorage despite the 100 inches of snow that has fallen this year. Our things arrived within the promised timeframe, and in fact they arrived early. Overall, our move was a real hassle, but it had nothing to do with U-Pack and everything to do with the fact that we are three pack rats who lived in Alaska for 25 years and collected far too much stuff.

Both times the was a wonderful experience. The drivers were courteous and professional. I will use their service if it is ever an option.

I left prior to my husband shipping the goods and he was told for insurance purposes, all boxes had to be opened for insurance purposes, so all of the boxes that I packed had been opened and in some cases repacked. I took receipt of the boxes but 3 boxes were missing from the check list. I had 3 silk trees that were not on the list and agreed with the movers that i had everything. I was told to sign that I received the goods, but if anything was missing, I had 75 days to file a missing or damage claim. Incidently one of my tree was broken but wasn't noticed until I started moving things around. I noticed I was missing multiplr Coach handbags and matching wallets, Eileen Fischer slacks, silk blouses, Liz Claiborne and Nordstroms' Casalon, keepsakes from my deceased parents, and all of my name brand winter clothing, 4 oversized lead crystal vases, accessories that held momories of my 20 years in AK. Two garment sized boxes filled with women clothing and a large box of kitchenware which included my set of waterless cookware ( valued over $1700), the hot plate and dutch oven, the salad shooter, Pampered Chef kitchenware, clay baking sheet, and misc gadgets. All missing. When I filed the claim it was denied due Stated "it appears there is no evidence of your crates being tampered with; therefore we have to deny the claim." 1. With so many items missing, there was no way my shipmrnt was over 3000 lbs. 2. All boxes were re-packed and taped, how could my count be compared wih theirs when the count on the sheet did not match or the total count that I had when I left. 3. We were charged by the weight because they said I had over 3K lbs. There was a sewing machine in a light weight cabinet, 3 paintings, 1 mirror, bedding, silk flowers, etc... NO FURNITURE!!! We paid to be robbed of things thay took 20 years to collect. And yes I am MAD that we were treated in such a manner. It is unfair to have so many things come up missing. We are an elderly couple getting ready for retirement and do not have the resources to replace things that took a lifdetime to collect. Not to mention, keepsakes with sentimental values and a lifetime of memories in particular photos of my deceased twin daughter who would be 40 years old 2/27. I do not know where my belongings are, but I am sure they were not delivered to my home in AZ. I will tell all of my friends and family do not use this company if you have items you want transported and want to see them again.

Then everything went south. Our new home has an angled driveway. The previous owner used a different mover - same exact size truck and they backed it up the driveway without any issue. Any Town decided to go up head first. They lined up and gunned it. Ended up wedged in our driveway. Used some of our landscape boulders to try getting unstuck. After an hour they called a tow company. Meanwhile nothing happened with our move. We didn't get upset. Accidents happen. Eventually they got it unstuck and decided they'd carry all our belongings from the street rather than attempt to drive up like the previous movers had done. Our 2 hour unload turned into a 4+ hour unload. Meanwhile they tell us they've got 2 more jobs to do so they called for help and just before they finished unloading - helpers showed up so they could move on to the next job. We never requested extra "help". They just showed up at the very end - in order to ensure they could finish 2 more jobs that day - not to help us. After all that (before getting bill) my husband felt bad for them getting their truck stuck (not knowing we were going to get walloped) and gave each of their workers a big tip. Then we were given a bill for $1040! Plus a credit card fee! They had given us just a 1 hr credit for all of THEIR issues. They damaged our street. Their tow truck damaged our neighbors yard. They didn't help with reassembling our beds as we had initially requested. They took an entire day instead of a half day - wasting our time. They just wanted to get out of here. When I requested a refund of 1 hour's time they threatened that they'd charge me for the "extra" help they brought in (without our request or approval). Horrible handling of unfortunate situation. The workers were good. The owner was horrible. You can't punish your customer for your mistakes. Next we're filing a small claims action and contacting BBB.
