Looking at the reviews, I had high expectations for this place. This restaurant is not what I expected and that's a good thing. The restaurant is in the middle of no where and you will get no cell service, which is great so you can actually have conversations instead of being on your phone. Beautiful restaurant that reminds me of a small Irish pub but the tables have linen napkins and crisp table clothes. All of the food is made from scratch and most of the wine is from Australia as this is where the owners are from. You be pleasantly amazed at the cost of a bottle of wine!!! The menu is written on chalkboards in various areas of the restaurant. Their menu changes often so there is no set options. They will cater to your tastes so you are satisfied. Started with the sweet potato and plantain soup which was velvety smooth, sweet, with a touch of a smoky taste. The smoked salmon on a potato latkes which was simple yet elegant. Mains were beef tenderloin with a stilton sauce served over mashed potatoes, root vegetables...delicious. Pork tenderloin with a peppercorn sauce was so tender no knife was required. For dessert warm homemade bread and butter pudding (with no raisins/nuts/ or currents!!!) with the best butterscotch sauce you will have ever tasted. Can't wait to go back!!

There's a story in every visit. Whether its a hike in Mono Mills Provincial Park or an adventure trying to find the Mono Cliffs Inn during a dark winter evening, when you finally arrive at Mono Cliffs Inn and Peter's Cellar, you feel like your travel journey has ended and your food journey is about to begin. I have been to Peter's Cellar on two occasions and both times, there was a storied journey on the way there. Once inside, you will definitely feel the warmth and comfort of a cozy cellar restaurant. The menu is varied and features many dishes with local ingredients. On one visit we started with a tomato bisque that was absolutely delicious. On another visit the Lamb Shank was truly tender and succulent. Of course there is also room for improvement and the calamari was a bit overdone, however it's the "total experience" that I am reviewing and not just the quality of the food. Overall, both food and experience are excellent. The service is personal with just one waitress and her assistant who are both professional friendly and they often talk about Carol, the owner. Peter's Cellar will be closed for two weeks mid-February for the owners annual vacation. There is also a restaurant upstairs which features a few items that are not available downstairs. Much like many homes, the upstairs characterizes the "dining room" and the downstairs, the "family room". For a great experience in the Spring, start with an afternoon hike at Mono Mills Provincial Park and end your day with dinner at Peter's Cellar. You will end your day feeling spiritually and gastronomically content. Peter's Cellar is located near Mono Mills Provincial Park which you can get to easily (and don't trust your GPS) by going North on Hwy 10 and turning right at the 4 way stop in Camilla, then traveling about 3 kms.

Great restaurant. Super service. Little pricey but worth it. I went downstairs to the pub and ate in the wine cellar.

!!! Stunning little pub and restaurant an hour outside the city. Had a lovely lamb bolognese, and a brie in filo appetizer. Lovely.

Tried the cellar, nice setting, unfortunately Wayne the pub keeper was rude, he needs some basic training. I do not recommended this place.
