My favourite restaurant of all time. I have been here 5 times and have always enjoyed everything I've ordered. The chef is amazing. They are very creative with food.

We tried this place this weekend for lunch and we were impressed by the experience and the food, my husband has bEen asking when are we coming back. Staff were amazing. We went witH our toddler and had nO reservations but they made sure we weRe seated comfortably with enough room for my toddler. Food selection were amazing, my husband could not stop raving over his steak sandwich and french onion soup. We were full but couldn't pass on desserts, wE just had to get the sticky toffee pudding and it was gone and devoured in no time!

Good selection of foods I enjoy and well prepared, their tomato sauce is very fresh. It worth the trip to Alton...

If you are looking for one good tasting sandwich, try the Reuben!!!

A true gem in Alton!!! When I lived in Caledon I'd frequent Ray's a lot and the food, service was consistently great! I now live in downtown Toronto and when we're visiting friends in Orangeville and staying the night we don't miss a visit to Ray's ... Try the Reuben Sandwich, two thumbs up and a total home run. BTW if you are rooming at the Millcroft Inn [around the corner from Ray's], take my advice and reserve all meals here - you won't be disappointed! You may be at the Millcroft!

Ray's was a welcome surprise in the little town of Alton. After hearing some word of mouth advertising I made the trip for lunch on Saturday. Lunch starts at 11:30am, I was there right on time in order to get a parking spot, as space is limited. Our friendly server brought over a huge menu board of the day's selections, it was a very unique and fun touch. There was lots of choice and everything is homemade. I selected the Yorkshire pudding stuffed with braised beef, golden mashed potato with aged chedder cheese, horseradish sauce with aus jus. A mouthful to say but incredibly delicious! For my main I ordered the turkey and bacon club on a cheese bun, and my friend ordered the ham and swiss pannini. Both came out with beautiful presentation. I really enjoyed my sandwich, only thing I would have changed was to use real turkey, not deli meat! For dessert we wanted to try their creme brule. It was a nice portion with a delicious cracking shell, not at all burnt. Only thing that would improve it was if the creme part was slightly warmed, it was too cold for my taste. The inside appearance of the restaurant is a little shabby. Hopefully one day the restaurant seating area will get a little updating as it's style does not match the beautiful plating of the food. All in all it was a great meal, with fast friendly service at a reasonable price.

Scallops with bacon and onion jelly, absolutely amazing!

Phenomenal. Local and constantly changing food, frequent live music, great beer and wine, and a relaxed atmosphere. A must try.
