You get to choose 2 of 4 sides (rice, potatoes, red cabbage, veggies) and a schnitzel. You can't go wrong with any of the schnitzels. It all comes on your plate with the schnitzel often being bigger than the dinner plate itself. Their nokedli (Hungarian dumpling) is a side dish too and it is tasty. Their cucumber salad is good too. The restaurant is family owned and the staff are very helpful. They do go out of their way to assist or help and make accommodations. The restaurant is tired looking and there is a smell when you first walk in but nothing too bad. We would like to go more often, but it's usually reserved for more special occasions given the price. The price isn't crazy expensive given the price of food today and the portion, but it does exceed what would like to pay for a normal night out.

For my son, we tried ordering the schnitzel sandwich, but was told that was unavailable. My son doesn't eat mashed potatoes so I asked if I could just order him a schnitzel and she said yes. The food came out in about 15 minutes. The cabbage rolls were fantastic, the perfect amount of acidity in the sauce. I really don't like tomatoes or cabbage, but there is something special about the cabbage rolls. I ate very bit of mine. The pierogies were wonderful. I usually prefer just potato and cheese, but honestly between those and the meat, I couldn't decide which I liked more. Both were flavorful especially with the sauteed onions and sour cream. My son's schnitzel was huge! He could only eat about half of it and when my son asked for ketchup (much to my dismay) the owner was very nice about it and commented that's the way her daughter likes it too. Honestly the food was absolutely wonderful and the service was great. It was very similar to what I had in Poland. If this restaurant was closer to my home I would visit often. We had no issue with parking. We were able to get a spot on the street right in front of the restaurant. Parking was also not too expensive since you aren't in the downtown area. The schnitzel that I ordered (Wiener Schnitzel) was enough to feed 3 people. Mine was with the potato salad that you pay an extra $2 (worth it in my opinion) or you could get it with rice and fries. It also comes with a salad. We also ordered the Potato Dumplings (Halusky) which brought memories of my trip to Slovakia a while ago. We also ordered some Pillsners Urkell to wash down our food. The schnitzel is a bit on the salty side so the Halusky, potato salad and salad provides a nice balance. The food took a very long time to arrive so that's something to be aware of. I'm not sure if it was a one off or if it's a regular occurrence. The food was worth the wait though. My advice will be to come as soon as they are open. The decor needs improvement but you are not coming here for the ambience. The food prices might seems expensive but when you compare it with the amount of food that you get, it's really not. There's parking at the back and the restaurant it's a bit lax about their opening time which is 5pm. We arrived at 5pm but needed to knock so they could open for us. It's in the same block as Dairy Cream so it was convenient for us. We did not finish our food as we were saving room for the ice cream. It's worth a visit if you are fan of schnitzels!
