Today oct16/25 we went to Madison t, I had rack of lamb. My wife had fish, everything was delicious.

Their reservation process is all online / over phone texts, but they are so thorough in reading and following every details of each guest. They knew my husband's name, his and my food preferences/ dietary restrictions, our occasion and had everything ready upon out arrival. They immediately brought champagne for us and apple juice for my daughter to celebrate our anniversary. This guesture made our day extra memorable. The chef's wife Carolina is a sweet, smart and kind lady. She memorized our and all details. It makes you feel welcomed. And adds to the personal touch. She was able to spend some time with us sharing some reletable conversations, which also adds to the experience. And ofcourse food- 5/5, 3 of us loved every dish 5/5 with exception to mushrooms, they were decent but other 2 mains were out of the world. My chickpea ragout was a huge protien, veggie packed dish with 3 different sauces. Each veggie on the plate was cooked it perfection. Who said healthy food can't be delicious? So was steak which my husband ordered, the rub on the steak was unique and so was the sauce on it. The fries was thin crisp and tender at the same time, my daughter never had so many. Drinks - cocktails ( was small in size) it was delicious. Pretty unique. And so was the on tap IPA. At the end we were full, and were bot sure about dessert, but we're glad we ordered creme caramel to share, it was too good to be missed Have to find another good occasion to be enjoy this cozy french bistro with the japnese touch!

Maison T is quietly tucked away at Toronto's Davenport residential neighbourhood. Located at the corner of Dupont & Shaw, you could easily drive right past this local gem if you are not looking for it. Chef Masa Tamaru from Japan & his wife Carolina have joined forces to create this lovely nest for the locals. They are open from Wednesday to Sunday. Their website only shows some of what they have on the menu. Eg. the Tempura Mushroom we had this time round was not an item they advertised on their website menu. All their items are reasonably priced compared to other TO's French restaurants, so in this hyperinflation era, they were full on the few occasions we visited the past few months. Reservations is recommended. Bon Appétit!

A hidden gem is the perfect definition for this French-Japanese fusion restaurant! It's a cute small place with the most attentive host. Their wine list consists of some superb options, as well as some Niagara options too! 1) Mushroom tempura- great crunch! 8/10 2) Japanese fried chicken- if you like karage, this is a nice twist of flavor - it comes with a nice sauce. It loses some of its crunch factor but the taste was fantastic. And the choice of dark meat made this a juicy bite! 9.5/10 3) seared scallops - delicious! The olive pate was a wonderful addition to highlight the flavour of the scallops! 10/10 4) duck confit- great sauce! The fat was rendered off so well, leaving the skin nice and CRISPY! Perfect texture. 10/10 The food is delicious and we can't wait to come back again!

This is a really nice neighbourhood restaurant that feels like you're eating at home. The service was very friendly, and it was very nicely decorated and warm inside. The owners wife served us, and she was an angel checking in with us all night and making sure we were having a good time. For appetizers, we got mussels, and the French onion soup both highly recommended. The mains we got were the short rib, and the duck, both of which were a little on the salty side. Next time I go back, I want to try the steak or the fish. Definitely worth a visit. There is also a nice patio outside, so a good place to go in the summer! If I could get 4 1/2 stars, that would be my true rating.

Pan Roasted Chicken (30)

One of those places where you go and you're surprised you never heard of it before. The restaurant itself is actually quite a hike away from 'downtown downtown' but imo I think it's well worth it. I'd also recommend making reservations as it gets pretty packed dinner time. We ordered the Steak & Frites (33), Pan Roasted Chicken (30), and Seared Hokkaido Scallops (20). I thought the scallops had a very very unique taste with the tapenade, quite rich but I did wish the scallops were a bit larger. The Steak Frites were excellent. Perfect medium rare with a really nice peppercorn sauce on top. The fries also came with this yuzu (i think) mayonnaise. This dish was definitely the highlight for me. The Pan Roasted Chicken had a super creamy sauce and was cooked really nicely. Chicken was seasoned really well without being overly salty and portion wise 2 large pieces as well. Great experience, excellent service and the food was nice! Might need to make the trek out east :)

Duck confit

Came here for a lovely dinner, I know they r very popular so had to make reservations days ahead. I live quite far from here but it was all worth the trip. First of all, the lady who is the chef's wife, she is amazing, so friendly and passionate about the food here. I appreciate all her recommendations. We got the following: 1. Duck Confit: I ordered it because this is a dish I would not make by myself due to how complicated it is, and I got to know the chef himself is known for his sauces. The skin was so crispy and the meat is so juicy, the sauce compliments the duck very well, but that potato, it's so crispy I don't know how they made it. I also never liked vegetables on the side for other restaurants but here the cauliflower and broccoli tastes different. They taste so much better I cleared the whole plate. Must be magic;) 2.French Onion Soup: I LOVE IT!!!!! Sooooooo good I can't describe it please just come here and order by urself. 3. Crème brûlée: extremely delicious, I actually never liked crème brûlée but this just is too good, the almond cookie too I wanted to buy a dozen to bring home 4. Foie gras: I have had Foie gras in several restaurants but I love how they put risotto under, with the sauce and the celery risotto it saves the Foie gras from being too much. 5. Arctic char: I personally don't eat fish so I can't comment on this, however the garnish looks amazing and my friend loved it. It was a great experience, absolutely will come back. Lovely atmosphere too!

Duck confit and arctic char

Celebrated a friend's birthday dinner here and it was such a cute bistro tucked away in the city. Very unassuming neighbourhood, felt like a hidden gem. The starters we ordered were amazing and my favourite part of our dinner, scallops and foie gras corn risotto. We also had the arctic char and duck which were great. Crème brûlée for dessert is a must. Service was so attentive and the chef's wife took care of us all night.

Braised short ribs were outstanding
T S.

Go for the atmosphere, stay for the mussels and short ribs! Lovely, simple food with exquisite flavors. Chef Masayuki knows what he is doing with the combinations of taste.& texture and his lovely wife Carolina is the perfect hostess. Must visit when in Toronto!

We had the seasonal tomato salad, steak, pork chop, duck and crème caramel. All the ingredients were local and fresh! Haven't experienced such freshness in every dish. Steak wasn't fatty but very juicy and tender. Comparable to high end $200 steaks. Duck skin was perfectly crispy. Meat was tender but could have been a little more herbal. Husband wife owned. Very friendly. Casual setting. Customers seem to be local, repeat.

Its a good brunch when you don't get hungry again until dinner. Our server was gracious and sophisticated, she did a great job making us feel welcome even with a toddler in tow. I made a mimosa out of fresh black cherry juice and it was great!! They made a scrambled egg for my baby. Food is definitely French (ie on the heavy side) but came out the proper temperature. I enjoyed myself and the patio is lovely. They take reservations by phone but sadly never answered my instagram direct message despite reading it.

Maison T put together a wonderful private anniversary party this week for us and 18 guests. Carolina organized the event with great professionalism and she accommodated all of our wants. The food choices were excellent and thoroughly enjoyed by all. For many of our friends, this was the first visit to the restaurant and several have told us they coming back. The skill of Chef Masayuki and his staff showed in the creativity of his hors d'oeuvres and the dining choices. Lovely wine at some of the best prices in the City. Carolina - your cake, what can I say, a real hit! Applause for the great service from the front of house staff and just a grand night all round. Thank you Maison T! If you haven't been to DuPont and Shaw yet, you should go to this great neighbourhood spot. Please support them! Howard and Roberta

I think having caviar at the top would have made it even better though. Le Pithivier - Beef Wellington "À la Française", Foie Gras, Spinach, Mushrooms, Beef Jus : I added this for $80 and it was delightful. As an add on i I suggest sharing this as it is substantial. Sorry for the delay. I forgot about it. We went for lunch on a Fri aft. Apparently they are nit very busy on a Fri lunchtime ever since the pandemic. All the dishes were a work of art and tasted really good. Look at my photos and videos! The vibe was one of elegance. 1. Amuse Bouche (complimentary). 2. The Pursuit Chardonnay 3oz ($15.00). 3. Le Champignon ($37.00). Mushrooms variation, Coffee, "Cafexlate" Chocolate. 4. Le Canard ($56.00). Duck "A l'Orange", Carrot Ravioli, Orange & Honey Reduction. 5. Set lunch ($75.00). 5a. Le Homard. 5b. Le Cabillaud. 5c. La Noisette. 6. Petit Four (complimentary). The service was excellent. The Amuse Bouche is a savoury egg custard with truffle and a breadstick wrapped in lard. My wife drank the Chardonnay so I can't comment about it. Le Campignon consists of a Mueller (finely chopped mushroom mixture) of Porcini and Shiitake mushrooms, Armagnac and Mushroom Espuma, Cremini Carpaccio (thin slices), "Cafexlate" Chocolate, in a Porcini Consome. It is an appetizer made to look like a floating lotus flower. So delicious! Le Canard consists of Duck Magret glazed with honey and orange, Confit Carrot and Basil Ravioli, and a Orange and Honey Reduction sauce. Duck Magret is the rich, meaty breast of a Moulard Duck, raised for fois gras, known for its steak-like texture, deep red colour, and generous fat cap. It was cooked medium-rare along with crispy skin. It doesn't have a gamey taste. Le Homard is Nova Scotia Lobster Stuffed Ravioli, Pecan Cream, in an Emulsified Lobster Bisque, and Fresh Tarragon. Le Chabillaud consists of seared Lingcod, Spinach and Lemon Confit Mousseline, Confit Fennel, Fresh Fennel, and a Creamy Poultry Reduction with Caviar Jus. They actually put caviar in the Jus; how extravagant! A Lingcod is neither a Ling nor a Cod! It tastes like a mild, slightly sweet white fish with a buttery flavour, firm texture, with large moist flakes. La Noisette consists of Torrefied Hazelnuts, Choux Pastry, and Vanilla Ice Cream. It was artistically plated. The Petit Four was served in a specially craft box with drawers, holding three different bite-sized desserts. Unfortunately they only gave me one of each because by that time, my wife had to go back to work; it seems they usually give one of each per person. There is free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. There is one gender-neutral washroom. There is paid neighbourhood street parking. Review 2026-001

We went for a Saturday dinner at 7pm and surprisingly had no trouble booking a last-minute reservation. We started with cocktails -- the Beurre Noisette (Brown Butter Spring Mills Whisky, Spice Rack Demerara, Aged Bitters) and the Eau Poivre (Tromba Blanco Tequila, Del Maguey Vida Mezcal, Cointreau, White Pepper, Lime, Cucumber Bitters). Both drinks were beautifully presented and tasted delicious. For starters, we had two French Onion Soups (rich beef broth, red wine, caramelized onion, toasted baguette, and Gruyère cheese), which were seriously comforting and, in my opinion, some of the best French onion soups in the city. We also shared the escargots with garlic, butter, parsley, lemon, and brioche -- classic and satisfying. For mains, my date ordered the Duck Confit Cassoulet with Herbes de Provence sausage, lardons, white beans, tomato, parsley, and jus, and I had the Beef Bourguignon with braised beef, pomme purée with carrots, pearl onions, mushrooms, and bordelaise. Both dishes were beautifully cooked and rich in flavour. We finished with crème brûlée (vanilla bean custard with Chantilly and berries) and lemon curd cheesecake (pâte sablée with lemon curd and blueberries). Both desserts were a lovely finish to the meal. The place was busy without feeling chaotic, and the service was friendly and professional, even if a little slower than I expected. The food was delicious overall and showed quality and creativity. The room was a bit chilly for my liking. I ended up draping my coat over my lap to stay warm (I get cold easily, though). Frenchy is a beautiful spot for date night or a special dinner, and I'd happily return to try more from the menu.

We ordered the featured cocktail (big rock candy) and spirit free to enjoy throughout our meal. The cocktail was on the sweet side but the tequila really helped balance out the sweetness. It also came with a mini skewer of candy that you can munch on. For starters, we ordered the beef tartare and the smoked trout tostada. Both were beautifully presented and well balanced. The beef tartare was rich and clean in flavour, while the smoked trout tostada felt lighter and refreshing, making it a great contrast to begin the meal. For mains, we both chose the Alberta beef. The beef itself was cooked nicely and very tender, but paired with the mashed potato and truffle mushroom cream sauce, the dish leaned on the heavier side. Comforting and indulgent, though a bit rich after a full appetizer course. Dessert wrapped things up on a high note with the chocolate tart and pudding chômeur. Both were beautifully presented, with the chocolate tart decadent but not overly sweet, and the pudding chômeur warm and nostalgic... a cozy, satisfying way to finish the meal. Also got myself a drink to go with it all! -[CHICKEN LIVER PARFAIT] 10/10 Would literally come back just for this dish alone haha. The amount they give you in chicken liver parfait is EXTREMELY generous and you can taste how fresh it is in that they made it recently. Just delightful all around and it's served with their pickles (imo get more of their pickled onions because that paired best with the sourdough and the chicken liver) and grilled sourdough -[BRAISED BEEF SHORTRIBS] 7/10 This dish had a generous amount of braised beef served over a bed of creamy polenta, broccolini, rosemary jus, and sauce vierge. Truthfully, this dish lackee a bit of flavor when not eaten with bites of the sauce vierge (often described to be a bright, tangy, and fresh, combining tomato, citrus, and herbs). The polenta was also an odd choice in my eyes for being paired with the braised beef as I felt like it couldn't enhance or absorb the flavors around it. Still solid as part of the winterlicious menu but I would opt for a different main in my next visit :') due to the aforementioned -[POT AU CHOCOLAT] (10/10) This is a very generous amount of chocolate custard topped with chantilly, a sable cookie, and cocoa nibs. I loveeed the flavor profile of this as it tasted like it was made with a darker chocolate so it wasn't too sweet and the chantilly had hints of coconut flavor in it :D I just felt very full afterwards because the portions of all the food were so large haha (not a complaint, I swear) The french onion soup here is also very good but my god, get the chicken liver parfait unless that isn't something up your alley! The location is at the new CIBC Square Food Court and this restaurant is with a Michelin Guide recommendation. The staff was attentive, she messaged me a day before to check-in on our preferences. The restaurant was small than I expected with bar setting, sofa tables, and regular tables. I love the atmosphere there, classy and cozy. We ordered the 3-courses Winterlicious menu. We had Octopus Carpaccio, Forie Gras Parfait as appetiser. Both were delicious, a little bit sour for the Carpaccio, but the Parfait was perfect. For Main, we had Short ribs steak and house-made pasta, the portion of the short ribs steak was a little bit small, but the steak is tender. For dessert, the waitress recommended us for Biscoff Cake, which was a unique item for Winterlicious. I love the cake, it was soft and creamy. Overall, it was a great dining experience, good for dating and celebration.

However, the restaurant cleared out within about 30 minutes once the rush was over. This was Aloette's first year participating in Licious, and their lunch menu offered either 2 courses ($39) or 3 courses ($46). My friend and I decided to share one dessert between us. Everything we ordered was delicious and beautifully presented. The wedge salad was super fresh, and the foie gras parfait was very well executed. Both the signature Aloette burger with Beaufort cheese and the fried chicken sandwich were excellent. But the highlight was the lemon meringue pie! The lemon curd and meringue were some of the best I've ever tasted. Oh, I almost forgot to mention their cheddar cheese bread! Sooo good! I'm officially a fan of Aloette!
