If you want to feel like you're in France without leaving the city, head to Auberge for a meal. We went to try their Summerlicious menu, because honestly, it's the only way we could swing a three-course meal here (yeah, it's a little pricey). Overall, we were happy with what we had, though we were left wanting just a bit more. We started with the soup and chicken liver parfait one each for the two of us. Honestly, the parfait wasn't for me. It just didn't suit my palate (or my nose). But the mains didn't disappoint. Both the cod and the steak were solid, but the real stars of the meal were the cocktail and dessert. The gin, hibiscus, and elderflower cocktail was incredibly refreshing. Like a breath of fresh air on a summer day. The desserts were excellent too. My favourite was the lemon tart: perfectly balanced and beautifully done, with a touch of raspberry inside. Their outdoor patio is gorgeous, and the service is exactly what you'd expect from a fine dining spot.

Auberge du Pommier represents best-in-class service, atmosphere, and above all, food quality and presentation. For a party of 19 people, we had a post-elopement private dining experience that was reasonably priced, in a gorgeous private Sophie room, and was easily accessible for my mobility-challenges guests that needed convenient access (without stairs) to and from the bathroom. I'm especially impressed by how well Michael (our lead wait staff) handled our constant stream of requests. The night went off without issues in a large part due to his proactive efforts, checking in with guests, and making sure everyone (myself and my wife included) had a splendid and memorable time (which we did!). I'd come here again, and I urge anyone who has the opportunity to book this place to do so without hesitation. They've been courteous, respectful, and an incredibly important part of my celebration. Parking can be annoying if you have a tall car - the underground parking lot (validation is free on weekends after 5:30pm!) has a height restriction of 1.7m so tall trucks cannot park in here. The Sophie room (where we had our private dining) had an incredibly intimate vibe to it; even without a "view", it was still an extraordinary dining experience.

We came here on a weekday evening earlier this month to celebrate a friend's birthday. The place looked pretty fancy from the entrance. Since it was just three of us girls and we don't eat a lot, we went with 3 appetizers, 2 mains, and 2 desserts. They first served us some crispy potatoes and honestly, they were amazing, super crunchy outside with a creamy sauce inside. For appetizers, we had the Huîtres, which were alright. The Foie Gras Vol-au-Vent surprised me though. I'm usually not a fan of foie gras because of the strong taste, but this one was really smooth and went nicely with the chanterelle mushrooms. My favorite starter was definitely the Tartare de Bœuf. The crunchy brioche with the beef and a touch of shiso leaf made it so refreshing. For mains, we tried the Gnocchis Parisienne. The sauce was nice with a pine nut flavor, but I'm not really into gnocchi, so it felt just okay to me. Even my friend who usually loves gnocchi thought this one wasn't as special as the starters. The other main, the 5oz Striploin, was much better, tender and almost melt-in-your-mouth. Desserts were a highlight. They surprised us with an extra little cake and even gave my friend a pretty birthday card, which was such a sweet touch. We ordered the soft cheese with honey, light but tasty. The apple-shaped cake was super photogenic, and inside it had apple compote so it wasn't overly sweet. Overall, the staff were friendly and explained each dish, the vibe was classy but still chill enough to hang out and chat, and prices were more reasonable than other French spots. Definitely a nice place to celebrate or treat yourself to something a bit fancy.

My friends and I came in for their Summerlicious lunch menu. Service was excellent since it is fine dining. We did have to wait to order for a while, but once we ordered everything came out perfectly timed. My favourite was the appetizer. The perfect summer soup dish. I was a little disappointed in the steak frites. Overall, glad I did their Summerlicious menu to try the restaurant!

Great service, great ambiance, great food! My fiancée and I are big lovers of French cuisine. Unfortunately there aren't many options in the York Region area, so imagine how ecstatic we were to try Auberge du Pommier in North York! This restaurant offers both a tasting and an a-la-carte menu. While the former sounded delicious, my fiancée and I opted for the a-la-carte so we could try more flavours between the two of us - the value! We got the oysters (Huîtres), the pan-fried scallops (Noix de Saint-Jacques Poêlées) and the fois gras (Foie Gras Poêlé) for our appetizers, sea bream (Daurade) and duck (Canard) for mains, and a crème brûlée and soufflé for dessert. Each dish was beautiful to look at, which made us want to dive in immediately even more. Our favourites of the night definitely were the scallops and the sea bream, both of which were full of natural sweetness by themselves. The accompanying ingredients helped elevate the seafood, which were perfectly cooked. I personally loved the crispy skin on the sea bream, which was smokey and fragrant, but not burnt. Close seconds include the savoury duck against a sweet, fruity orange sauce and the melt-in-your mouth soufflé special. Actually, I take that back - all dishes were absolutely stunning. They're bit on the expensive side, but worth every dollar honestly. I can't not talk about the impeccable service at Auberge, which was by far one of the most attentive and friendly experiences we've had at the restaurants. We were celebrating a special occasion that night, and our waiter brought out a cute card + complimentary chocolate sweets to commemorate the moment. It was definitely an unexpected but appreciated gesture. I can't wait to come back and try the tasting menu the next time!

This was a truly disappointing experience and the only restaurant where we had to send a dish back. I had high expectations for this place--it's a well-known, long-established French restaurant that I had even recommended to my friends before visiting. The ambiance is elegant and refined, and my friend mentioned that many people choose this venue for weddings and birthday celebrations. The service was impeccable, with attention to detail--one notable touch was how the server personally placed the napkin on our laps upon seating. Soupe aux Champignons et Oignons (Mushroom and Onion Soup) A completely uninspired dish--just a bowl of soup with no additional ingredients. The flavor and preparation were so monotonous that it was hard to believe a restaurant of this caliber would serve something that tasted like canned soup from the supermarket. The roasted mushroom oil only added to the greasiness of the already heavy cream-based soup, rather than enhancing the flavor. Salade Frisée (Frisée Salad) The vinaigrette was overwhelming--my friend described it as having an intense white vinegar taste, making it unbearably sour. We ended up returning it and replacing it with beef tartare, which, though also quite acidic, was at least enjoyable for my friend. Terrine de Canard (Duck Terrine) A classic preparation of cherry sherry jelly layered over a smooth, mousse-like duck terrine. The terrine itself was rich and velvety, but the jelly added little to the dish--it was the charred aroma of the toasted bread that stood out the most. While technically well-executed, the dish wasn't particularly exciting. Bœuf Bourguignon (Burgundy Red Wine Braised Beef) This was the dish I was most looking forward to, yet the result tasted almost identical to the version I make at home. The beef was tender, infused with a robust wine flavor, and the ingredients were well-defined with an enticing color. However, the sauce had been strained out for the sake of presentation, which was a real letdown. The only standout twist was the addition of mustard seeds. Farfalle (Bowtie Pasta) A surprisingly enjoyable pasta dish--the natural sweetness of pumpkin purée paired beautifully with the nutty aroma. It ended up being more popular at our table than the beef. Marmite Dieppoise (Dieppe-Style Seafood Stew) A dish that was rich in flavor but not overly heavy, with plenty of umami depth. Leeks played a key role in enhancing the taste, giving the dish a well-balanced, layered quality. This is the kind of dish that has a high floor--it was well-executed, but not particularly memorable. Apple Tarte Tatin The caramelized apple tart had a distinct hawthorn-like flavor, with just the right level of sweetness--any more would have been overpowering. Interestingly, the nutmeg ice cream stole the show. At first, I mistook it for ginger-flavored ice cream, but it had a unique and intriguing taste that stood out more than the tart itself. Tarte au Citron (Lemon Tart) A standard, by-the-book presentation--nothing remarkable. Torte au Chocolat (Chocolate Cake) A complete disappointment--the texture was far too dry, crumbling into powdery bits with every cut. Not recommended. Overall Impression The menu lacked standout dishes and felt uninspired, failing to convey any real craftsmanship or passion from the chef. While the service was excellent--the staff not only replaced our overly acidic salad for free but also removed it from the bill--I was highly dissatisfied with the food itself. From a culinary perspective, I'd attribute at least 80% of the negative experience to the chef. However, if you're simply looking for an elegant French restaurant to check off your list or have a date night, this place does offer a refined and upscale setting. Just don't expect the food to be the highlight.

Visited Auberge du Pommier for a Summerlicious lunch (three courses at $55 -- really good deal!). This place has rustic decor and a cozy ambiance. We were seated promptly, and the place filled quickly and remained bustling throughout our visit till we headed out around 1pm. Unfortunately, the service was slightly overbearing, with staff persistently asking us to order drinks. even after we declined alcohol we were asked about juice three times. Guess they need to maximize profits somewhere? I chose beef tartare, steelhead trout, and panna cotta. The food was served at an adequate pace. The tartare was fresh, well-seasoned, and offered a delightful contrast in textures, with hazelnuts and bread crisps providing a satisfying crunch. The trout was cooked to perfection. Its generous portion paired excellently with mushrooms and a lemony sauce. The panna cotta was tasty, though the spoons provided were a bit comically big for the serving cup's unique design, making it challenging to scoop the delicate dessert. I would visit again, but I do prefer the regular dining experience over the Summerlicious one. If this had not been Summerlicious, I would have given 3 stars.

During the Thanksgiving long weekend, the weather was nice and I really wanted to treat myself. Therefore, I booked lunch at the Auberge du Pommier restaurant that afternoon. This is my third visit to the Auberge du Pommier restaurant. The first time was Winterlicious and the second time was Mother's Day brunch. Since the weather was nice that day, I decided to sit outside. Their outdoor patio is designed in a way to make you feel like in the French countryside. My two previous visits are having their tasting menu. Therefore, I decided to order from their À LA CARTE lunch menu and this is where things shine. Bread and Butter: The bread is great but not the highlight. It is the butter that impressed me. If I recall correctly, the server told me their butter is sourced from a local farm and I was able to taste the differences. Plus, the butter temperature is well-controlled and smooth. Just by looking at the butter, you can tell Auberge du Pommier is very attentive to details. Pâté en Croûte: The taste of this dish is so authentic, that it makes me feel like dining in Paris. In simple terms, the Pâté en Croûte chicken flavor is further enhanced by the whipped mustard. Then the pickles make the chicken taste less heavy (if I described this correctly). This is a perfect traditional French appetizer that I truly love. Crêpe: I was expecting a classic French breakfast-style crepe with the duck egg in the middle and ham / cheese on the side. Instead, the crepe is folded and the poached duck egg is placed on the top with arugula surrounding it. The crepe is still very tasty and the poached duck egg is cooked perfectly. Crème Brûlée: The perfect classic French dessert for ending this wonderful meal. The Auberge du Pommier restaurant chef has mastered the Crème Brûlée. The top layer is well caramelized and crisp. The inner creamy vanilla egg custard is not too sweet and silky smooth. Comparable to the Crème Brûlée I had in Paris. Overall, the food is excellent, the outdoor patio atmosphere is relaxing, and the service is phenomenal (better than many Toronto five-star hotels). This is the perfect place to treat yourself and your family. I will definitely order from the À LA CARTE in my future visit.

Auberge du Pommier has been around since 1987. In 2017, they celebrated their 30th Bday. Tuck away on a quiet side street just north of Yonge St & York Mills Rd. When you arrive, it will feel that you are out in France. Every time we went, from just a table for 2 to an entire venue wedding. They can deliver the most amazing French cuisine experience. Every time. Well done, Chef Doug Penfold & your team :D

Great experience here. Service was amazing. Tasting menu was amazing. My favourite was definitely the lobster bisque. Would absolutely return.

I went here during winterlicious and had some expectations since the place had been there for a while with some recognition. Things that we ordered were these: Starter - Pain au Lait, Salade Lyonnaise, Terrine de Canard Main - Beouf Dessert - Baba au Rhum, Tarte au citron The starters were okay, but given the price, they were underwhelming. The bread was fresh and well-cooked, and the salad was decent, but we could have had better. The most problematic dish was our main. The beouf was very tiny portioned and the sides were at best mediocre. Not to mention we had a plastic in between the layer of potato but that wasn't the worst part. All the components of the dish were bland and the sides were cold. It was just not it I would just go to keg for a better steak and side. Dessert was fine. You can't go wrong with tarte au Citron. The only person who held it up during our course was the pastry chef. I can't tell that the dish's quality would be the same for a la carte. However, I believe winterlicious is a showcase of their restaurant and I can't tell they don't want us back. For the overall ambiance was alright if I phrase it nicely I would say it's classic but not the best I have seen.

The food was okay. The fish was a little overcooked. The dessert was underwhelming. The ambiance was nice, but the AC was really cold where we were sitting. The table next to us also brought up that it was really cold. The server acknowledged both of our tables but it continued to be cold.

Auberge du Pommier is always offering good quality french cuisine, this time it didn't disappointed us. The quality is as good as before and service is excellent too. It is pricy though, budget at least for $120+ per person. They also offer a good selection of wines , which can easily added up to the bill. The only thing is that there is construction on the site which kinda blocked the door.

You can feel the Paris inspiration the moment you walk in, from the chic brass-accented bar to the warm ambient lighting and stylish design. We went for a Saturday dinner at 7pm and surprisingly had no trouble booking a last-minute reservation. We started with cocktails -- the Beurre Noisette (Brown Butter Spring Mills Whisky, Spice Rack Demerara, Aged Bitters) and the Eau Poivre (Tromba Blanco Tequila, Del Maguey Vida Mezcal, Cointreau, White Pepper, Lime, Cucumber Bitters). Both drinks were beautifully presented and tasted delicious. For starters, we had two French Onion Soups (rich beef broth, red wine, caramelized onion, toasted baguette, and Gruyère cheese), which were seriously comforting and, in my opinion, some of the best French onion soups in the city. We also shared the escargots with garlic, butter, parsley, lemon, and brioche -- classic and satisfying. For mains, my date ordered the Duck Confit Cassoulet with Herbes de Provence sausage, lardons, white beans, tomato, parsley, and jus, and I had the Beef Bourguignon with braised beef, pomme purée with carrots, pearl onions, mushrooms, and bordelaise. Both dishes were beautifully cooked and rich in flavour. We finished with crème brûlée (vanilla bean custard with Chantilly and berries) and lemon curd cheesecake (pâte sablée with lemon curd and blueberries). Both desserts were a lovely finish to the meal. The place was busy without feeling chaotic, and the service was friendly and professional, even if a little slower than I expected. The food was delicious overall and showed quality and creativity. The room was a bit chilly for my liking. I ended up draping my coat over my lap to stay warm (I get cold easily, though). Frenchy is a beautiful spot for date night or a special dinner, and I'd happily return to try more from the menu.

We also had two of their small plates the mussels and the burrata. The mussels tasted great with the sauce, a little garlicky which I prefer. The combination of the peach and mint went really well with the burrata. Light and easy to eat. The patio at night is one of the highlights. The only small complaint was it did take a while to get our wine after we ordered it and a little while to get our check. Otherwise cute spot.

Located on the 54th floor of the TD Tower, the views alone already set the tone before the food even arrives. The ambiance was romantic and intimate, with dimmed lighting that made the space feel elevated without being stuffy. A nice touch right from the start: complimentary coat check (always appreciated in the winter), and validated parking -- just remember to provide your license plate to the host. We ordered the featured cocktail (big rock candy) and spirit free to enjoy throughout our meal. The cocktail was on the sweet side but the tequila really helped balance out the sweetness. It also came with a mini skewer of candy that you can munch on. For starters, we ordered the beef tartare and the smoked trout tostada. Both were beautifully presented and well balanced. The beef tartare was rich and clean in flavour, while the smoked trout tostada felt lighter and refreshing, making it a great contrast to begin the meal. For mains, we both chose the Alberta beef. The beef itself was cooked nicely and very tender, but paired with the mashed potato and truffle mushroom cream sauce, the dish leaned on the heavier side. Comforting and indulgent, though a bit rich after a full appetizer course. Dessert wrapped things up on a high note with the chocolate tart and pudding chômeur. Both were beautifully presented, with the chocolate tart decadent but not overly sweet, and the pudding chômeur warm and nostalgic... a cozy, satisfying way to finish the meal. Overall, Canoe's Winterlicious dinner offered a well-rounded experience with elevated flavours, thoughtful service, and one of the best views in the city. While some dishes felt richer than expected, the ambiance and presentation made it a memorable evening. Perfect for a belated birthday treat or any special occasion where you want to slow down and enjoy the moment.

The server we had was amazing, attentive, and quite busy that day. He answered all of our questions, and had some good suggestions. The seating is always comfortable and the view is second to none in the city. The food was cooked and prepared well, the skill and technique was very noticeable with every bite. The steak was cooked to perfection, the potatoes that came with this main were also impressive with their strong but robust flavour of thyme, and it wasn't greasy, just fried perfection. The app, I had the stracciatella cheese with rye and the grapes were blanched I think and the skins were peeled off, this was a very delicate dish, not very flavourful, but the textures is really where you'll see the layers come out. The grapefruit tart was simple the best way to end the meal. It was decadent for sure, but worth every bite

Nestled inside a hotel with its own private elevator, the entire arrival experience already sets the tone for something special. The atmosphere is nothing short of stunning. You get sweeping Lakeshore views, a refined yet warm dining room, and service that is both professional and genuinely welcoming. The servers make you feel completely taken care of without being overbearing, which is exactly what you'd expect at this level of dining. As for the food--unsurprisingly, everything is exceptional. Every dish feels carefully thought out, beautifully plated, and full of flavor that balances creativity with tradition. This is not just dinner; it's an experience. Even the small details stand out, from the wine pairings to the impeccable timing of each course. And here's something unexpected: the bathroom is worth a visit on its own. Floor-to-ceiling glass walls give you the feeling of floating above the city--but don't worry, they assure you it's one-way glass. It's a little surprise that adds to the unforgettable character of the evening. If you've ever wanted to understand what Michelin-star dining feels like--without leaving Toronto--Don Alfonso is the place. It's elegant, memorable, and easily one of the most unique culinary experiences in the city. A must-visit for anyone who appreciates fine dining.

The location is at the new CIBC Square Food Court and this restaurant is with a Michelin Guide recommendation. The staff was attentive, she messaged me a day before to check-in on our preferences. The restaurant was small than I expected with bar setting, sofa tables, and regular tables. I love the atmosphere there, classy and cozy. We ordered the 3-courses Winterlicious menu. We had Octopus Carpaccio, Forie Gras Parfait as appetiser. Both were delicious, a little bit sour for the Carpaccio, but the Parfait was perfect. For Main, we had Short ribs steak and house-made pasta, the portion of the short ribs steak was a little bit small, but the steak is tender. For dessert, the waitress recommended us for Biscoff Cake, which was a unique item for Winterlicious. I love the cake, it was soft and creamy. Everything we ordered was delicious and beautifully presented. The wedge salad was super fresh, and the foie gras parfait was very well executed. Both the signature Aloette burger with Beaufort cheese and the fried chicken sandwich were excellent. But the highlight was the lemon meringue pie! The lemon curd and meringue were some of the best I've ever tasted. Oh, I almost forgot to mention their cheddar cheese bread! Sooo good! I'm officially a fan of Aloette!
