The scallops were fresh, and the tiger's milk paired nicely with the onions and radish, adding a refreshing touch. The prosciutto was also tasty, though the pickled mushrooms got a bit lost in the dish. The appetizers met our expectations, but nothing really stood out. For our mains, we chose the chicken thigh steak and caramelized French onion pasta. The chicken was cooked well--juicy on the inside with a crispy skin on the outside. The risotto was al dente, though I think it could have been cooked slightly longer for a softer bite. The caramelized French onion pasta was a bit of a miss for me; I was expecting more flavors resembling traditional French onion. Instead, it tasted more like a sweet onion pasta. That said, it still had a good flavor overall and just the right amount of sauce. The bread served on the side could use some improvement--it was hard and bland, with only a few areas having olive oil, while most parts were dry. I also wish the portion sizes for both mains were a bit larger, as I still felt a bit hungry afterward. For dessert, we opted for the pineapple brûlée and toffee pudding. The toffee pudding had a nice flavor, but it had been soaked in syrup for too long, making it overly sweet and giving it a very soft, almost mushy texture. The pineapple brûlée was a bit underwhelming--it was essentially a thick slice of pineapple with brûléed sugar on top, sitting in pineapple juice with cinnamon whipped cream and lime zest. For the price, the meal was fair, but there were a few aspects that could use refinement.

Each dish was a small size and really pretty. The first App was Salmon Tartare, it's raw salmon salad. I can't have any raw food, so I let my husband to have it. The 2nd App was Pan Seared Shrimp, it's cooked shrimp but not too much cooked. My kid loved it and she ate 2 and I ate 1 for the taste. The 3rd one was the main, they ran out of the Duck Confit, so they switched to the Duck Breast without extra charge. It was medium cooked, which it was still having blood, we couldn't stand for it. They took it back and well cooked and also cut into pieces. That's so nice of them. It actually really tasty and it was not hard to bite. I did like the well done duck meat. We also got the Bolognese pasta, he said it was Lasagna, but it wasn't, it was only spaghetti, but my kid liked the sauce. The last one was the White Chocolate Panna Cotta, which it was milk pudding with a little bit white chocolate at the bottom with strawberry and its jam, and walnuts on the side. We told the waiter my kid has nuts allergy, but walnut was still on the dessert plate. We gave her another side of the pudding where didn't have any nuts. Kids like sweets. Shawn still uses a reservation book and personally handles all reservations from booking to walking them out the door at the end of the night. We made our reservation 1 week in advance for Friday night, and there were still a few prime time seating's to be booked. We arrived, excited for a night of beautiful wine, interesting cocktails, and mouth-watering food. All of that happened along with great service and wonderful conversation. We each started with a scallop and some delicious homemade sourdough bread! Any restaurant of this caliber nails the opening bread, and I never feel confident enough to ask for me - next time I will because FK's was fantastic. We then shared the oxtail fagottini and enjoyed the rich filling and deep savory broth it came with. I had the Ontario Lamb Rack & Loin, which was actually lamb 4 ways, including a lamb head croquette. My husband had the striploin and frites. Both meals were spectacular and cooked to our temperature preferences, but mine takes the cake for presentation! For dessert, I had a wonderful key lime dessert with a coconut cake, and savored every last crumb. Our server paired my lamb with a beautiful glass of red wine, and was extremely personable. There was only one item which I kind of was mixed on but love the sauces they were not overly heavy, but instead incredibly flavorful. It's not just French food. They did have some Italian items on the menu - think Continental. The wait staff are very good, and they replaced plates and cutlery between each course and wipe the table. They were most attentive and very knowledgeable about the items on the menu. Most people seem to be having the potato croquettes with the cream, fresh and caviar. So we did start with that. Then we had the Masa Luna pasta that was stuffed with smoked eggplant, absolutely wonderful. Then we shared the sable fish with tomato, and the steak with roasted kale and grapes. We ended with a blueberry crème tart. Definitely some great innovation in the dishes. The only thing I will say was that while most folks did get the potato croquettes with caviar (us included), I personally found that this was not as flavorful as what I would've expected it to be. And it's a fairly pricey item on the menu. I expect caviar to have a little bit more of a kind of salty seafood flavor and it just seemed very bland to me. There are definitely other compliments that you could add to those potato croquettes, which were really quite wonderful. I will say that the rest of the meal was wonderful and very enjoyable. I definitely would go back and enjoy a meal there again as all around in general, it was a great experience. Being on Harbord near Spadina, parking is very limited, so either get there by rideshare or take transit. It's just steps from the Spadina Streetcar stop.

The music was on point though and I can imagine on a warmer day, the patio would also be a cool vibe to experience. One note I feel is needed to mention is the bathroom. I almost missed the steps descending down to the bathroom because the area is poorly lit. This is a safety issue. Secondly, if you're tall like me, the stalls are very tight and claustrophobic. I barely had any room in the stall and it was very uncomfortable; be careful if you're bringing your purse/phone cause there's no space and I could easily see how things can drop in the toilet. I would highly recommend the business investing into this a little more.
