So here we were driving back from Collingwood on Monday evening and decided to find a place to stop for dinner before we got home And just how lucky did we get when we decided to got to Rustik Really cool decor.. classy and subtle We got the ball rolling with the Pâté and the mushrooms on toast... both outstanding... the taste matched the presentation And then we moved onto the RustiK Salad and the Protein Bowl... while both were excellent, the dressing on the RustiK salad was delightful Yes, it is expensive... but I've been to a few places that are way pricier and have come away dissatisfied. But at RustiK I really felt I got my moneys worth PS: Debbie and Cheri were the best. It's alway so refreshing and inspiring to meet people who really enjoy their job I asked for a non alcoholic beverage even though they didn't have any on their menu and Cheri pulled out all the stops and produced an amazing mocktail which had rhubarb from her garden Awesome place Expensive but Exquisite Might go back there on NY's Eve PS: The cheesecake was delicious too.. oh that crust... yummmmm

Saw the good reviews so decided to give it a go. Not impressed but not disappointed either. I would give 3.5 stars. Average food, friendly service and average taste. The ingredients are fresh and good quality which improves the overall dish. The combined taste of the meal is missing something. The burger is reasonably priced at $18 with a side. The chorizo linguine $24 has a healthy spin to it, I didn't mind it but if you are true chorizo fan this didn't really taste like it. If you are in the mood for more upscale bar food with quality ingredients, this place is not bad. But if that's not your cuisine of choice, you might not like it.

A great restaurant! A gem! A truly gourmet experience. And somewhere you wouldn't really expect it too! Makes it even better! We tried the Beef Bourguignon, the Grilled Calamari Puttanesca and the Bouillabaisse. We loved everything we were served! The wine selection was impeccable! The service was great! The weather was nice enough for us to sit outside, so that never hurts! Highly recommended and I look forward to visiting them again.

Found this place randomly. Was in the area picking something up. Needed a quick in-between lunch and dinner meal. For what it is, prices are good. Food is tasty. Tried to the german style noodle dish with steak. Service was good, the waitress was pleasant. Nice ambiance. The only thing I would suggest is that they increase their portion sizes slightly. Otherwise, it's an excellent place.

This was my first visit to Rustik in Orangeville. It was highly recommended by friends who own run a store down the road. Let me start by saying that it was a very nice experience. The wait staff were highly accommodating, and able to make a dish for me that was over the top delicious! It was also safe for me with my multiple food allergies and issues. I always enjoy seeing some alternate cuts of steak on the menu. There were a couple that caught my eye. I'm not a bread or starch guy, so the protein bowl was a nice alternative. The flavours were exceptional and the addition of the steak on top and some nice fresh goat cheese in the bowl had me enjoying every mouthful. I will go back and have this again and again. The service was good, the restaurant was clean, and the attention to detail and customer service was over the top. All of this, and the dish had one of the most attractive presentations that I have ever seen fro a protein bowl or salad for that matter. If you get a chance, this is the place to be for a beautiful meal with a good touch of personality to boot. I will go back for sure!

Semi started eating duck breast, the. Took pic. Veggies we delicious. I devoured it.

This review of Rustik is based on weekend brunch experience. I love the deco and the chic vibe of the restaurant. High ceiling makes the interior just feel so spacious. We shared: Steak and Eggs ($17) which was surprisingly good and cooked perfectly medium rare. The cut of the steak was much better than I expect and was tender. Love those piri piri fried chips and inspired me to try making some at home. Chicken and Waffles ($16) was not really up to par. One small piece of chicken with half a waffle at this price point?! The flavour though interesting with the tomato chutney vs smoked maple syrup. I almost thought my friend ate half of my order before letting me take a food photo. All the beers and ciders available are in cans. If they are only offering the in can and bottles, they should at least offers a few more local craft beer choices. Or even put a few Hockley Valley. an Orangeville brewery on draft. Rustik does offers a more upscale experience for Orangeville's dinning scene. I would not hesitate to come back again next time I am in town, maybe just skip the fried chicken.

We had a small celebration at Rustik. They exceeded my expectations in all possible ways. Their food is creative, delicious and fresh. Service is friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this place.

Before heading to the Orangeville area for an event, i Yelped local eateries and was intrigued by Jennifer K's pics of this local eatery. Rustik is a cool looking restaurant with (true to its name) both rustic reclaimed wood panels interspersed and elegant features. Loved the fresh baked bread and garlic hummus. We split the artisan Caesar salad, which had a fantastic sharp kick of garlic, shaved pieces of Piave cheese, focaccia croutons, and candied peppered bacon. By comparison with the garlic in the salad, the garlic hummus was much more subtle. I had to order the mushroom and sage which was topped with toasted walnuts, pea shoots, ricotta cheese and a brown butter sauce. I devoured this dish. They had me at brown butter... Hubby ordered the pork chop with potato and smoked Gouda bread pudding, braised red cabbage and red wine demi glace. The sauce was nicely seasoned. The pork chop (medium well) was maybe a tad overcooked for my liking. The bread pudding didn't really do anything for me. There were a good amount of steamed vegetables served with the dish. Rustic is a great local restaurant that I wish was in my neighbourhood. Will definitely return if we're in the area. 3.5 stars. (56/100)

As hubs noted, for a place called uncorked, their wine menu is a bit light. However, if you include liquor choices, it works. Service was good overall, perhaps slightly lacking polish but made up for with genuineness. Live music on Friday and Saturday nights at 7. The trio playing was enjoyable playing a lot of classics most would know. Good music for conversation. The sound system was a bit distorted, so that did detract unintentionally from the band. As far as food goes, they brought the appetizer out after the tacos, and my main seemed to have gotten a bit lost. Ideally the kitchen would have delivered both mains at the same time. So Hubs ate his, then we ate our appetizer...and then I ate my main. Not ideal but pretty tasty. The brussel sprout dish was quite delicious, but a slightly lighter hand on the sauce would improve it. Pulled pork tacos were enjoyed by Hubs. I enjoyed my fish tacos and my duck taco. All in all a good meal.

We eventually found it. Upon arrival, the door swung open and struck a seated guest -- a sign of just how small the space is. The restaurant was full except for one four-top (clearly ours), and we stood awkwardly in the entrance -- which is essentially inside the dining room -- waiting to be acknowledged. When greeted, we were asked if we had a reservation. We said yes. "Table for eight?" we were asked, which felt impossible given the size of the room. We clarified four, and were pointed to the only open table. No name was requested; we realistically could have just walked in and taken it. The space is starkly lit with aggressive bright white lighting that feels more clinical than cozy. The artwork is interesting and gives a gallery-like feel -- it seems the restaurant is aiming for a downtown Toronto wine bar aesthetic, but it doesn't quite land. Our table was missing water glasses, and the stemware was mismatched -- not in an intentional, charming way, but more in a "we ran out" way. Once seated, we weren't acknowledged or offered water for nearly 20 minutes. Not rushing guests is one thing; leaving them feeling forgotten is another. When our server finally arrived, the service set the tone for the evening. One glass of water was poured before he realized another was missing. He disappeared, returned with a glass, inspected it mid-pour, then walked away again (dirty glass). After several more trips and long gaps, everyone eventually received water -- about 15 minutes later. He was polite and friendly, just clearly untrained. He shared that the owner is also the sommelier, cook, and server, and that he liked working there because he wasn't expected to know much about wine -- an interesting admission for a wine bar. The owner greeted us warmly but asked only one guest about wine preferences -- ironically the only non-wine drinker at the table. The concept appeared to be sommelier-led, though this was never explained. If that is the intention, engaging the entire table is essential. That said, the wines themselves were enjoyable; the service surrounding them was not. The Taste of Oakville menu promised three curated 3-oz pours paired with a charcuterie board for two. The pours arrived unevenly and slowly, with little explanation of the pairings. The charcuterie boards were plain and inconsistent between tables despite containing similar items -- basic fruit, crostini, simple cured meats, small portions of brie, and two slices of truffle cheese. No crackers, spreads, or thoughtful touches elevated the experience, and presentation varied noticeably. Our second wine pour didn't arrive until our mains, and service moved so slowly we requested a wine list to order a bottle. We were told there is no wine list -- "we're not that kind of restaurant." Instead, all reds are $80 and all whites $70, and the owner selects the bottle for you after asking only red or white. The concept might work if explained upfront; without context, it was confusing. At one point, noticing my empty glass, our server poured me a random red -- which turned out to be the same wine as our first pour -- and then left without serving anyone else. We had to remind staff we were still waiting for our second curated pour. Nothing about the experience felt curated. The most surprising moment of the night came when our mains arrived. As we lifted our appetizer plates -- still holding olive pits, fruit rinds, and crumbs -- the servers told us not to worry about clearing them and proceeded to place our main dishes directly on top of the used plates. I'm still shocked. I wouldn't do that at home, let alone expect it at a Lakeshore, or quite frankly, any restaurant. Two of us ordered the tagliatelle, which was tasty but contained only two small pieces of short rib -- and was difficult to enjoy while staring at discarded rinds beneath the plate. The other two ordered brisket sliders: two sliders, no sides. They tasted good but left diners hungry. One guest joked they kept thinking the fruit rinds were fries -- unfortunately accurate. We tried to make the best of the evening, but it never delivered the cozy wine-and-charcuterie experience we had anticipated -- dim lighting, thoughtful pairings, something special. After finishing our meal, we requested our bills and reminded staff we were still waiting for the third curated pour. We were told "five minutes." Those five minutes never came. Eventually, wanting simply to leave, we paid a single combined bill and sorted it out ourselves. Dinner for four totaled $460. This was not the boutique Lakeshore dining experience we expected, and ultimately, it was deeply disappointing.
