I do recall going to a Moxies when I was younger and it being a completely different experience. Mostly only female servers and a very specific dress code. I'm so glad it has changed for the better. I've been to this Moxies location twice and both times have been good. Great ambiance overall. We ordered wonton tuna tacos, calamari, and gyoza. The wonton tacos were awesome and so was the gyoza; awesome dipping sauce. The calamari was decent. Cotes du Rhone wine was delicious. Only criticism was the sever disappeared for a long time and my friend really wanted some water. Recommend this for groups to have some drinks and apps! read more

Moxies (regardless of location) always hits all the high notes in all aspects: delicious food, variety of menu options, great service, nice ambiance. We came to the Newmarket location during peak dining time on a weekend and were seated right away. The patio was nice and shaded with umbrellas, even though the view wasn't exactly the best (the patio backed onto a parking lot and busy road with cars zooming by). We still got a nice gentle summer breeze with good music. I loved that there were plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. Every dish could be customized to omit certain ingredients (such cheese or nuts). I also loved that there was a low-carb, keto-friendly option that was both filling and delicious (the Power Bowl, with cauliflower rice and plenty of protein and veggies). Review of the dishes: 1) Super Greens Salad - Pretty big portion for a salad, great for sharing. It consisted of plenty of mixed greens (baby spinach, romaine lettuce, cucumbers), strawberry slices which added a hint of sweetness, toasted quinoa and seeds which added nice crunchy texture, and avocado which added creamy texture. I didn't want the cheese or dressing so I asked for them to be put on the side. 2) Power Bowl - This came in 2 varieties: vegetarian (with tofu) or with tuna (as Tuna Poke Bowl in the menu). We asked for them to swap the protein with Grilled Prawns, and it turned out to be my favourite dish of the evening. I could taste the grill / char taste in the prawns - very well done and flavourful. The bowl ingredients were perfect: fresh vegetables, crisp greens, cauliflower rice, shiitake mushrooms, edamame, soft-boiled egg (that was so perfect), and avocado topped with sesame seeds. I opted to skip the spicy vegan mayo. The bowl was already packed with flavours without the mayo. 3) Lemon Basil Salmon - Another great dish. The salmon was pretty big and cooked to perfection. I really liked the ancient grains that it came with (had the texture of risotto but without the cheese), and mixed with plenty of spinach / green vegetable. The only disappointment was that the "seasonal vegetables" it came with only consisted of root vegetables (carrots and beets)... was hoping for more greens such as broccoli, asparagus, and/or Brussels sprouts. But it was still a delectable and hearty dish overall. read more

Amazing!!! First time visiting Moxies, and as a celiac I was absolutely blown away. They have a separate menu for gluten free options, it's just the regular menu with items that are subbed out for gluten free and it's super helpful! Had to take a few minutes out of my day to write this review. Just had lunch with my boss at Moxies - we were greeted and seated right away. My boss got the blackened chicken burger with a caesar salad and I got the CHICKEN MADEIRA RIGATONI. Server was nice and friendly. I loved the vibe - it was super clean and empty before the lunch rush. My pasta was sooooooo delicious. Pasta was al dente and the chicken was so juicy. The flavors of the pasta was amazing and the garlic bread - yummy. I will be forever craving this pasta now. It is so darn good. Like a cross between marsala and butter chicken but in pasta form! Came here to meet up with a friend I hadn't seen in years. It was the perfect spot right between both places we were staying. We came late at around 8pm and we're only planning on drinks but both of us were jet lagged and hadn't eaten yet, so appies it was. The service was great, there was no waiting, even with no reservations, granted it was later in the evening, and a week day, but still you never know. So it was a nice surprise. I ordered the chicken cashew lettuce wraps and peach Bellini. The food was amazing, like really good, crispy, fresh and delicious. And my drink was sweet and refreshing. Despite us being so late, they accommodated us. The service is great, food amazing and ambience that of fine dining. The bar has closed by the time we arrived, so I can't review the bar but the rest everything was great. The server was diligent enough to ask us if we were doing fine and not too frequent to enquire the same. I would say that was one of the best servers we ever had. Baby short ribs were great and so were the dry ribs, Their mashed potatoes are out of this world. A must try. Apart from a minor hiccup, rest everything went very well. Pleasantly surprised considering I came in only due to a work farewell lunch (for yours truly), and was one of the only places that was within walking distance from the office. It is nice that they can accommodate pre orders and large reservations, such as our group of 14. Had a reservation for 12:00 on a Tuesday and when we arrived, and it was not that full. Somewhat expected for a bar and grill. I had the herb alfredo and added chicken, with the pasta being penne. I was half expecting long chicken strips and pasta, but actually they were actually bite sized pieces. The chicken was not overcooked and was tender. I wish the penne was a tad bigger but they were nice in the alfredo sauce which was nice and creamy. The cheese and onions gave additional flavours although I wish there were even more toppings available. At 19.99 (14.99 for the pasta and 5 for the chicken) it is comparable with most formal sit down restaurants. What set this apart for me was the nice atmosphere with tons of lighting and plenty of tvs around, and the quick service (e.g they put out 4 card machines for our group) . Good choice Matthew on the lunch spot....! It seemed my coworkers left feeling full and satisfied as well (FWIW the large majority of them ordered sandwiches). read more

Well Moxies will be our first restaurant that the father daughter food cretic duo does. We will only be talking about the food that we ordered. My Daughter Ordered the Guacamole dip and it was really good (Refreshing) she ate it all. She also had the kids Buffalo chicken tenders and veggies The chicken tenders were more like nuggets, which was fine but not tenders. They tasted good but will try the chicken strips next time. The veggies were just a veggie, 6 tiny celery sticks As for myself I had the chicken strips and fries. I had asked for the fries to be twice cooked (Crispy) They came soft (Uber eats app) . I asked for gravy also and that came at a cost of $2 well that was 3 tablespoons full LOL Thanks Won't be ordering fries or gravy again. The strips were nice and crispy but could have other flavors for variety would be nice. Lemon pepper hmmmm I also ordered the dry ribs which I've had before They are very good and will order again but when asking for them to have salt and pepper This was almost unseen even on the bottom of the container. Possibly the only place in Newmarket that opens late (on weeknights) and offers a FULL menu. I got the honey garlic chicken wings and the Mosaic Dip. The wings were very tasty but you can never go wrong with wings (crispy and deep fried to perfection). I couldn't compare the dip to anything I have every tried before but it was very tasty ! (made from spinach, goat cheese, and mushrooms). The dip came with tortilla chips and pita bread. Our server was very friendly and often checked up on us (even though our waters could've been refilled from time to time) but towards the end of the night when we wanted to look at the dessert menu, I felt like we were kind of rushed to order (with 40 mins before close). Overall we had a decent dining experience and will definitely be returning for the friendly staff and the many options for a late night snack. read more

I'm rarely disappointed when I go to a Moxies restaurant. The Newmarket location is a restaurant that really has it all together. Great service, good food, friendly staff, options for people with food issues, and nicely lit, and music playing at nice levels. And the place is clean! I had the steak and shrimp with a side of quinoa. The steak was spiced well, and was cooked to a perfect rare. The quinoa was very pleasant and the shrimp was beautiful. I highly recommend this place. I do a lot of meetings in Moxies. They are a great place to take anyone. read more

After a long day's work and a great dinner, this is a fun place to stop at to grab a drink and a lite snack. I happened to land myself at this place, based on the recommendation of my fellow co-worker who happened to be at the same place the night before for dinner. Now, I only had drinks at the bar and didn't have any of the food; however, according to him and another co-worker, the food was decent. A few observations: 1. The drinks are great and they have nightly specials. 2. They have HUGE tv's; so, if you want to catch up on sports, this is your place. 3. I went here last night to meet my family for dinner. First off, where is "Newmarket"? Anyways, this was actually my first "meal" forray into a Moxies. Shocking, I know. Sat down with ma famjam's in a round booth contraption that I didn't really fit in. Woops. Anyways, my family had already ordered the bruschetta (or bruskies as I like to call them, not to be confused with the ever popular frat boy term "Brewskis") I'm not going to judge it because it was sitting around for liek 20 minutes, but lets justt say it was like eating a mildly tomatoe'd rock. Anyways. I ordered the Mediterranean burger. Burger patty, with feta and a pesto-y sauce. Flavours were awesome! Burger patty itself was way overdone and too charcoaly aka burnt. If the burger wasn't burnt, i'd say 4 stars, cause it was delicious none the less. The fries were just fries. My mom/sister has the peppercorn steak, and it was okay. the brandy sauce was nasty in my opinion. but i dont like brandy anyways. the cool thing was though the ice cream came in this awesome bowl with dry ice underneath, and it made my 3 year old niece's day. honestly. that girl. biggest smile. i almost cried watching her smile. kids are fucking amazing. maybe i need to give moxies another chance. we'll see what happens 2.5, but ill round it to three because even though the service was mildly terrible, the staff was super nice and i could tell that she was mad overworked. not her fault. she was doing the whole dining room herself. read more

This was our first time visiting Moxies in Newmarket and we were very impressed. The service from our waitress was excellent. She was very friendly and accommodating with our order. We ordered the free range chicken with rice and veggies and the chicken enchiladas. We were pleasantly surprised with the burst of flavors in each bite. Nothing was lacking in our dishes. For dessert we tried the heated white chocolate brownie. It sat in a warm chocolate sauce with vanilla ice cream. Hands down this was one of the best desserts I have ever eaten in my life. It was full of flavour and the portion size was generous. We definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone and we look forward to dining here again soon. May6- was here for dinner. Our waiter was not attentive and was more interested in making out with some girl in a booth. Not professional at all. I was shocked that he had the nerve to do this while he had customers. We had to get up to get the bill after waiting a while. ive been to this location a few times. i only ever order the peppercorn steak and as usual, it was great. there was only one time when i ordered this and it was half fat. i didnt end up paying for it, but i felt out of place bringing this up to out waitress. the service is good and the food is great. definitely overpriced for what it is. the white chocolate brownie is the greatest. the ambiance is fantastic. read more

I ordered the Chicken Chipotle Quesadilla and it was good, but the chipotle yogurt dip that it came with was actually rather bland and gave an "off" flavour when pairing it with the quesadilla. My sons ordered from the kids menu - one grilled cheese and one cheese pizza...both devoured! The highlight of their meal was the anticipation of the ice cream dessert that is served over dry ice. Our waitress, Atlanta, was very friendly and accommodating. The manager also stopped by our table to say hello and check that everything was going well. Decor is dark and sophisticated. Since I had forgotten my glasses, very dim lighting made it hard for me to read the menu clearly but the waiter was able to make recommendations. I had the chicken rigatoni in Madeira sauce which really a misnomer. Where exactly was the chicken? The Big K was luckier with his selection : steamed Australian whitefish dress in a bed of jasmine rice The drink special of the night was Miami Clear which tasted slightly medicinal with the essence of aloe and orange vodka. Coupons given in compensation of a horrible first experience brought us back for a second try. It seems these folks haven't learned a thing. We sat for 15 mins before anyone even acknowledged us. Only then did a bar manager stop by and ask if we had been looked after. We said we were leaving! She convinced us to stay promising she would personally serve us. We waited 12 mins for our first drinks, and 35 mins passed before we were offered a second. My dates fish was burnt and it took 15 mins for a replacement to arrive. I ate alone; he ate alone.
