Unexpected great little place. More upscale options than anticipated, not the place to go if you're looking for a normal French toast breakfast. I had the huevos rancheros burrito minus the tortilla and my friend had the hash. Hash was a little bland and the huevos were delicious. Would definitely go again, medium portions of food so definitely order a side if you're extra hungry. Orange juice was delicious and tasted super fresh. Super spot but really slow service. Four is good but took forever; spotty coffee refills; even getting our check took forever. 2.5 hours to wait from being seated to leaving was not good. Only one restroom. Not good either. Portions for breakfast could have been a little more generous... and the bacon was undercooked. Famished for good food after a few days camping on the road, the smiling, attentive staff, nice atmosphere, and delicious coffee was a warm welcome to Lander. Was having a hard time choosing between the chorizo and egg scramble and the brioche French toast with bananas and maple syrup, when the server offered to do half orders and voila! Stopped in for lunch and were not disappointed!! The waitstaff were friendly and attentive and the space was clean, nicely decorated ( local painters work on the walls) and open (indoors, they also have outdoor patio seating). We ordered the blackened fish sandwich, the steak sandwich and the three grain brûlée oatmeal. The blackened fish sandwich was especially good and if you're not afraid of a little heat we would highly recommend giving it a try! The steak was a bit thickly cut, we used a fork and knife to eat it, but overall the sandwiches flavors complimented each other well. The soup of the day, carrot curry was also a crowd pleaser among our group. Oatmeal comes in a large hearty portion, and we were pleasantly surprised by the cherries in the topping. Had an amazing breakfast here w/ my sons this summer. Started w/ my own french press for my hot tea; wonderful touch. Several of their breakfasts come as half-order for only $5 which made it very easy for my 7 and 9 year old to choose a great meal, sized just for them. The food was wonderful and service outstanding. We sat outside and enjoyed the view of Main Street. Lander was already our favorite Wyoming town, but finding this place just gave us one more reason to return very soon. read more

The food was really good (5) but our waitress was very bad. She seemed to forget us. She appeared to forget to get our food when ready and I don't think she would have ever brought the check if we hadn't gone to the counter; already tried eye contact expressions and then waving. This is slightly delayed, but I have been debating for awhile whether or not it is worth posting and yes, I think it is. I don't like writing negative reviews but this literally left a bad taste in my mouth. We ate here for breakfast at the end of June. Based on the good reviews, maybe we came on a bad day or something. First, the sign said "seat yourself" so we did. No server came to greet us so we sat for ten minutes. Finally, one of us got up walked to the bar and asked for some water and menus. Those were brought a few minutes later. I ordered coffee and another member in our group ordered a Bloody Mary. The server asked "would you like bacon?" She did so she ordered that. Bloody Mary comes out five minutes later with half a piece of rock hard, inedible bacon. Bloody Mary tasted watered down and too spicy-would not recommend. We ordered eggs Benedict, the vegetable Omelet, and a basic eggs breakfast. All came with potatoes. The omelet had no flavor, but that was almost better than the flavor of the potatoes. Strange spices that didn't sit well with anyone's tastebuds. They were almost sweet, which some may like but we couldn't appreciate. The eggs breakfast was nothing to write home about, and the Benedict had a strange assortment of spices and seasonings to it too. I really wanted to like this place based off the reviews. Maybe it was a bad morning, maybe we ordered the wrong thing, or maybe it didn't sit well with our personal preferences (it is small-town Wyoming after all). read more

It's always tough to review a place when you don't necessarily have the right experience to compare it to other experiences. The biggest issue here is that in all my life, I had never had Eggs Benedict until visiting The Middle Fork. Yes, it's scary, but true. The food was good, but I wasn't overwhelmed. Deliciously fresh food and ingredients, and wonderful presentation and service. We landed in Lander (sorry) and were SO LUCKY to drop in here. The cauliflower soup is delicious, the greens were SO fresh and a delightful grapefruit vinaigrette (yep--looked up a recipe on-the-spot so I can make it at home), yummy grilled cheese. Although our motel had a cold breakfast, our friends suggested the Middle Fork for breakfast. It is an excellent breakfast restaurant; the food was healthy with good service. We missed the outdoor patio, although the inside was inviting and cozy. Next time we are in Lander, we will be sure to come back in order to sit outside. Hands down, this was the best lunch we've had on our trip out West! I had an amazing chicken pesto sandwich with fresh mozzarella and balsamic vinegar. The kids loved their pasta and my husbands dish was delicious. I would highly recommend this place. Yum!!! read more

Amazing! So glad I happened upon this place as we passed through town. Quiche was yum but the real highlight was the strawberry salad. Whoever thought of fried goat cheese is a genius. Perfectly paired with the strawberry compote and dressing. I added grilled chicken but there wasn't much there and I didn't think it added much to the salad. Service was quick and friendly. I have been here numerous times for breakfast and have never been disappointed. Their house coffee is great, but they have a wonderful French press plus espresso drinks and brunch cocktails. Every meal has a special twist (fries with truffle aioli, anyone?). The beignets and cinnamon roll sides are spectacular and the corned beef has will keep you full until dinner... Which you can enjoy at the owners other restaurant, Sego on 4th and Main (no Yelp page yet). I could go on and on, but just go there and see for yourself. read more

The husband and I stopped here on our way through. I appreciated the gluten free menu options. The husband enjoyed the biscuits and gravy and I enjoyed the eggs and bacon. My wife and I had a fantastic, delicious and outstanding breakfast experience here. The staff was friendly with great service. We got to sit outside in their Garden, which was cool and pleasant. Our meals were fantastic. I had the Hash with and egg, and Sue had the eggs. The bread was excellent. As we had a terrific meal at the Cowfish the night before, this lovely breakfast made our brief visit to Lander one of our favorite stops on our vacation. P.S. I left my credit card on the table when we left, and they were quick to call into Discover to try and find me. Luckily, I stopped for gas in town and found it missing, and called them.
