My dining companion and I shared the seared tuna appetizer and each got a side salad and main dish (chicken duo and lobster scallop papardelle). Everything was very flavorful and the standouts were the chicken and the tuna appetizer. Service was attentive. Highly recommend Mulino for an interesting and nicer dinner out in Lander! read more

$63.30 (food - crab & corn toast, lobster bucatini. drink - Tall in the Saddle) Mulino monologue: During my time in Lander, I wanted to celebrate something special at a special place. I came across Mulino and really enjoyed the information I read on their webpage (this really is a family restaurant), checked the spot out and fell in love with the open kitchen concept, the interior placement of the decor and outdoor dining option. I decided, at that moment, that this was going to be the place to celebrate! I was accompanied by 11 friends. Yup, we made an evening out of it. We sat outside and indulged in drinks - adult and kid friendly beverages, although there were no kids with us - Italian cuisine, storytelling and laughter. It was a great atmosphere and great weather for all of that. The drink and dishes that I consumed were items I never tried before. (See above for my order). So, I figured today was the day to experiment. The concept of the toast I enjoyed more than the actual item. Personal preference issue: It came out hot, which was great. I like toast, but not well done toasted bread. It was like eating a big crouton that was submerged in a dipping spread. I had to use my knife and fork to create pieces to eat. Because it was so large and hard, there were crumbs jumping everywhere. Maybe I needed a finely sharpened surgical knife for clean, precision cutting. The spread cooled quickly, which was to be expected after all the work I had to go through just to get one bite. I liked the spread better when it was hot. I think that if the spread was created and served in a cast iron dish, with a side of "croutons" to dip in it, that would have been better suited for this concept. The lobster buccatini, well, again, a personal preference issue: The sauce was tasty, the noodles were fun, the peas were, well, peas (you either like them or you don't) and I do love microgreens. I have no suggestion for what could have been done differently here; it was good, but one time was enough for me. Like I said, I just wanted to try something different. And different I did...in Lander, Wy! Oh and the drink was tasty. In all, the experience was enjoyed by all. Definitely an upgraded, large city type atmospheric restaurant, compared to what Lander has to offer (or not offer). P.S. - If you are interested in reserving space for a large party, when the restaurant opens, know that you may get some pushback (The reason for the 3 stars). If we were sitting at an open air restaurant right now, enjoying a nice brunch surrounded by people in cute brunch outfits, I would give you all the details. But in the end, it all worked out (but not before I took some deep breaths, and vented to a few folks to make sure I wasn't the crazy one. I even had to call my mother on this one. Sheesh!) read more

Need to try this place! Love the music, all the staff and the fresh air (outdoor seating but they keep the one door open so fresh air all kinds). Large craft beer menu, Crimson Keep whiskey barrel aged was perfect. I came here thinking spaghetti and meatball, my Olive G fav. But I went all in on the short rib pasta. What? Yeah it's short ribs in flat spaghetti noodles! So tasty. Made my week. I'm soo glad I tried something diff for a change. You can add a salad for $3 which worked out great. read more

The ambiance was very nice!! Can dress up or down and still enjoy the great atmosphere. Didn't feel like a place where you had to be dressed up to be at. The service was very good, they stayed on top of everything. The menu changes with the seasons so be prepared. I had the duck it was cooked perfect. The carrots were over done for my taste, but the sauce and duck make up for it. My partner had the salmon, we didn't read the menu correctly so we would have changed his side to rice, as I said the menu changes with the season, so the sides were not what we were expecting. But I can't blame the restaurant for that. Overall we will go back. We really enjoyed the whole experience!! Definitely coming back. read more

Food was delicious. Staff was great, helped make sure I didn't eat an ingredient I was allergic to. I had a mocktail and it was fantastic. Highly recommend! read more

The vibe here is just awesome. You walk in off the street of a small Wyoming town and it's like you're transported to Jackson Hole, or Park City. The food is authentic due to the Owner/Chief being a transplant from Philly. It seems the menu changes with the season, so things don't get stagnant. You won't regret coming here and getting your grub on. I'll attach some pics of the meals you should expect. read more

Wonderful service and greeting. Pasta was amazing and enjoyed by all, Bucatini was spot on!

I've been living in Lander for the past couple months, was craving a good chicken parmesan and have been wanting to try Mulino for a while. I went around open and was struck by the beautiful atmosphere. The restaurant is beautiful with an outdoor dining area, bar, and open view into the kitchen, including counter seats where you can talk with the cooking staff. Speaking of staff, the service here is absolutely wonderful. Everyone was kind and attentive, enhancing the experience. I ordered the chicken parmesan, a baby arugula side salad, and the chocolate ganache for dessert. I was also given bread with olive oil and balsamic to dip in. The bread was great, warm and soft, and the dip was simple but delicious. My arugula salad, which consisted of pickled plum, toasted walnuts, goat cheese, and a creamy orange vinaigrette was somewhat bland. I blame the vinaigrette which had nearly no orange flavor. The pickled plum, on the other hand, was incredible! It was a terrific addition to the goat cheese and walnuts and my only complaint was the small amount that were on the salad. As a side salad, this only cost $2 which is a great price compared to other places in Lander. The chicken parmesan did not live up to my expectations. It came with fettuccine in a house sauce and was smothered in a thick layer of mozzarella cheese. The chicken itself was also very thick, leaving it with an almost, but not quite, rubbery texture. This is a personal preference but I enjoy thin cuts of chicken breast for chicken parmesan. Their house-made fettuccine was terrific, soft and tender with the perfect amount of chew, but I did not enjoy their house tomato sauce. I was overwhelmed by the amount of oregano which drowned out the other flavors. It was also I chunkier sauce, with slices of onion and cherry tomato halves left in the finished sauce. I didn't mind the tomatoes but the onion slices were quite large and still had some crunch to them which I did not like. Overall, the portion was large enough to satisfy but I think it is slightly overpriced at $26. For dessert, I had the chocolate ganache, which was a puck of chilled ganache covered in passion fruit curd, topped with crushed crystallized graham cracker. At first, I was turned off by the clash of flavors. The sour tropical curd and the rich decadent chocolate competed for my attention. As I continued to eat, the two settled down, and with the crunch texture of the graham cracker crumble, I found that I enjoyed it more and more. I still felt the dish lacked a cohesiveness, and that these were three separate components layered on each other rather than a single item. Also, as the most expensive dessert at $10, this was filling but not worth the price. Even though my food did not meet my expectations, I understand that many of my criticisms come down to personal preference. I base my 4 star rating on the amazing service, delightful atmosphere and the potential a restaurant like this has. I would certainly return to Mulino to try new dishes. read more

Came here on a Saturday night around 8pm after a long day of climbing and was excited by the look and good reviews of this restaurant. However, was sorely disappointed. The wait for a table was about 15-30 minutes, so we decided to get a drink at the bar. Luckily, we were able to find 4 seats at the bar and opted to sit there instead of the table. The bartender was extremely busy because she had to serve everyone in the bar area, as well as make drinks for the whole restaurant. She kept telling us that she would get to us shortly, so we patiently waited. We were able to order our food about 20 minutes later. We ordered truffle fries and two pastas. We were served bread with olive oil/balsamic along with our order of truffle fries, which was very good. However, our pasta arrived about 50 minutes after sitting down and ended up being sub-par. The spaghetti that I ordered tasted like instant noodles and the gnocchi that my partner ordered was smushy and salty. The ambience of the restaurant was really nice, warranting another star, but overall, we had a very underwhelming experience. read more

We come to Lander every year to visit family and like to enjoy a nice dinner out. Sadly, Mulino has let us down twice now. The first time, the food was overly salty, the service was bad, the staff was rude, and our waitress never checked back once, and we waited forever for the food to come, while other tables who arrived after us got served first. That first time we chalked it up to a bad night and decided to give them another chance so this year we tried again, hoping for a better experience, but it was somehow worse. Even with plenty of empty tables, we waited a long time just to be acknowledged. The host finally came and told us the kitchen was, in her words, "drowning" and we'd have to wait 10 more minutes before even being seated. Made zero sence! Meanwhile, we saw others walked in and were seated immediately. Honestly, as a diverse couple, we couldn't help noticing the strange looks we got. The atmosphere is snobby, the owners act like they're above everyone, and overall it's just not a welcoming place. My advice? Don't bother. The food isn't good enough to justify the disrespect, especially with mediocre, salty food and arrogant service, it's simply not worth your time or money. There are far better places to enjoy a meal in Lander where you'll be treated with the kindness. read more

Ate here once in three years. My wife and daughter each ordered pasta. One was the little stuffed pillows. They had no sauce or anything to really help them out and were bland. My wife's pasta had some veg in it but was bland no real sauce. I had a steak that was ok. It came with flavored fries that were not ok. I paid to much for a bottled beer. read more

The timing of our main coarse coming out took so long that a member of our party asked to speak to the manager who turned out to be the female owner. Her response to our question of "what happened to our ticket" was so shocking I am a lost for words. Our kids pasta and sauce came out timely behind everything else we had ordered thus far but our kids were completely done eating and multiple tables who were sat after us had left when we went and questioned where our main coarse was. The female owner immediately became defensive, dug her heals in and did not listen at all. We weren't complaining about our waitress. She was great. We were questioning what happened to our main coarse? Her response and lack of listening with zero responsibility was shocking. She was SO rude that I was compelled to write this review. Wow! read more

Overpriced very simple food for the price the menu doesn't make sense . I would not recommend.

Food was good, staff was friendly, all with a relaxing ambiance. Disappointed that the menu on web via yelp link did not match what was on the menu we had tonight. Absolutely will not return, the service was horrible, all and all we had to wait an hour and a half for our food, waited for at least 20mins just to get drinks, we had to ask for more bread just to get by until dinner was served, other people that came after us was served and left, this place is packed, however I have no idea why, the food was not worth the wait, I got the mussles linguine, and what was in the linguine was soup, the pasta itself was gummy, my friend had the ribeye, I definitely won't be back, however as I've stated before I'm picky, I have had some exceptional Italian food, and maybe I got here on an off day, but it made up my mind not to return, especially for the price. read more

I had the Scallop special and I wish I was kidding but It was the best Italian meal I have ever had, and I'm a well traveled man. I also had the Brussel sprouts which where amazing. Not as good as it used to be unfortunately. Spring onion dip was ok but flatbread was blackened and burned. Clam linguine was lacking flavor due to a topping of at least 1/2 inch of dry breadcrumbs on top. That dish used to be so good, it was a big disappointment. read more

Food was fine. Our orders were less than accurate but nothing worth complaining about. The menu has changed pretty dramatically. The drinks were great, very delicious and all super creative. The wait for our food was longer than expected. After ordering, we waited just over an hour and a half. Maybe someone was missing, not sure. Waitresses were great. Carbonara was alright, the noodles were good. Risotto was great. Several groups came in well after we did and got their food before us, but that also could have been a fluke. There's not a whole lot of options for Lander, so we'll likely be back eventually. read more

Wow! Fantastic food and excellent service. They were busy (Friday night after all) so we sat at the bar by the kitchen. Such a fun, warm, innovative Italian restaurant! This is one of our hometown favorites. It has new owners as of last year and they bring lots of enthusiasm, kindness, and amazing food to the table. This is our first choice for girls' nights, birthday celebrations, and fun dinners. Not only is the food great, but the kindness and attention to detail from the owners makes it a complete package. We are greeted with smiles and new suggestions. The owners and staff go out of their way to make a special occasion unique. We always leave feeling full, satisfied, and appreciated. The recent bar addition has a fun feel and can be a great place to sit if you want a little more quiet. We love the gnocchi, any of the salads, and all fun appetizers. Be sure to check out their bar happy hour! Great drinks and additional food you can't get in the restaurant during those hours. They are also on Open Table which makes reservations a breeze. It's a fabulous restaurant - be sure to stop in if you're in the Lander area. read more
