I love Oxbow and I come here often. It's always so hard deciding what I want to eat, because everything is soo good! My only complaint is that Oxbow closes at 8pm or 9pm instead of 11 or even 10pm. If it were open later, Oxbow would be the only place I ever go to. read more

This place never fails when it comes to serving up terrific food in a clean comfortable environment. It would be a consistent five stars if they would turn down the "background " music. Lacking that upgrade, it's still some of the best and freshest food in Lander. Their weekend prime rib specials aren't cheap, but they are crazy good. They never cheat you on meat, and the salad bar is generous and fresh. Soups are delicious. For a regular spot for breakfast or lunch, cant be beat. Large portions, kind efficient staff, and clean comfie booths and tables. I'm a permanent fan of the meatloaf and mashed potatoes. They get it right! read more

Excellent value in Lander. Cheese curds were flavorful and the perfect texture. Burgers were of great variety but the patty could have been seasoned a bit more. Milkshakes were less than $4! Great place to stop while in town. All you can eat salad bar too. Service was top notch. read more

Traveling through in our RV, not many places we could pull Motorhome into. This place has a big enough parking lot (next to hotel) that allowed us to park in back so we could stop in for a meal. Greeted by Vicky our waitress & she was very helpful in pointing out things on the menu we might like. All great choices. Our meal was good, priced just right, restaurant was clean, & with lots of old fashion atmosphere. I had them add green chilies to my sandwich (being from New Mexico) that is always a winning combination. Everything was so great! The food, atmosphere, prices, service, everything was amazing. The salad bar was full and so much variety. The beans and the cookies and cream dessert were excellent. My husband got the jalapeño popper burger and it was so good and I got the curd burger and it was so flavorful. The burgers didn't even need a sauce, the patties were so juicy and flavorful. We got the raspberry pancakes and they were heaven. Our server was so great too. She was so nice and on top of it! Plus the prices? They were excellent for the quality of the food. A local favorite and I don't understand why. They advertise hand made hamburgers but they tasted like they were frozen patties. Not very good at all. We arrived early in the morning and still had to wait for a table. Before 8 am there wasn't enough staff (2!) to seat, take orders, deliver food and clear tables. We had a good breakfast (eggs and bacon and DH had the eggs with a side of gravy for his hasbrowns). Eggs were cooked as ordered (om) and the bacon was crisp as I like it. The food is less than mediocre. My wife had a hot turkey sandwich and everything in it was instant. Instant gravy. Instant potatoes and turkey lunch meat. Chicken dinner had inedible French fries and was 2 wings and 2 drumsticks instead of the 2 pieces of chicken on menu. We were told this was "the place" to go in town for dinner. I ordered the chicken parm and my buddy ordered the pot roast. My chicken parm came out with 2 unmelted pieces of sandwich cheese covering a dry piece of chicken and some noodles topped with a canned sauce. Exceptional hash browns! This is a wonderful local family restaurant. The service is exceptional and the staff are genuine and sincere. The food was mostly traditional Western/Midwestern homestyle family fare with some local flair: breakfast all day, burgers, sandwiches, salads, Prime Rib, ribeye steaks, pork chops, pastas, meatloaf, Country Fried Steak, pork ribs...you get the idea. I probably should have led with the Prime Rib. We stopped in on a Thursday around lunch time. The service we received was on point all the way. We were seated promptly, our drinks never ran empty, and even when my young nephew spilled his drink two staff were at the table very quickly with towels while our server brought my nephew a refill in a spill-proof cup. I ordered eggs and sausages with hash browns and a side of grits. My wife had oatmeal, and my daughters had soup and a steak-burger, while my nephews had a steak-burger and chicken fingers, respectively. The grits were warm and tasty, the eggs were exactly as I ordered them (basted medium) and everyone in my family enjoyed our meal. Having decades of food service experience myself, I absolutely must point out that my hash browns were exactly how hash browns should be done: crispy on the outside, warm and moist on the inside, but not greasy or overcooked. My first real cooking job was for a restaurant owner who was exceedingly particular about how hash browns were to be cooked, and I have worked in many restaurants since whose owners and managers were far less particular. I don't eat overcooked, undercooked, greasy, mushy, or burnt hash browns. At the Oxbow, I ate all of my hash browns and savored every bite. My 11 year old daughter consumed the entire pork chop adult meal and I had roasted chicken. Everything was delightful! The best part - it was a $54 meal. In Dallas this would have been $100. THERE IS FINALLY AN ALL VEGAN OPTION IN LANDER. I have been coming to Lander my whole life pretty much every summer since I have family here and there are always restaurants that I enjoy going to, at least I used to. Ever since going vegan it has become more challenging when visiting Lander and eating out since vegan options are so limited here compared to the big cities that I'm used too. One can only have so many French fries and fruit cups. ;) Anyway, a family member suggested that we go to the Oxbow for dinner which I always enjoy since my grandfather built the place and it's very familiar but I was kind of not looking forward to it since I had been on the road all day eating lack luster food and just wanted a good vegan meal that was substantial. My mood changed the minute we walked and were escorted to our table and I saw little advertisement cards on all the tables for the Beyond Burger. I was so elated and the owners daughter (who is amazing by the way) said that they are trying to become more accommodating to everyone in their food options. So I got the Beyond Burger which is served with all the toppings on the side and no cheese with a choice of side (I got sweet potato tots although I was told they're going to switch to sweet potato fries). The whole meal was fantastic and the service was even better. If you're a vegan or someone who is looking for a healthier burger in Lander then definitely go to The Oxbow, you won't regret it. read more

Probably the best liver I've ever eaten. Came with bacon strips on top--bonus!! And the bacon was very tasty. They seem to be known for their steaks and I was very tempted to order one but I really like liver and it's hard to find on menus. My friend had the meatloaf and said it also was tasty. We enjoyed our dinners so much that we went back for breakfast. The staff was very friendly. After tipping your waitstaff, be sure to leave a little in the cooks' tip jar at the register, too. I just wanted to say they have done great food!!! But customer service is amazing. I made a call in order put had to go into work, couldn't call and tell them I wasn't going to be able to pick it up. Hours later I called told them I was sorry I would be in to pay for my food. They remain my food for me!!!! They didn't have to and I told them no, because it was my fault!!!!
