We stopped here on the Friday before Labor Day and the place was dead. I had a BLT, beer, and kettle chips, which were all fine. My wife had the chicken marsala and it was next to awful. We probably should have asked for our money back, but she doesn't like to do that' so we let it go. The waitstaff was very friendly and the bathrooms are clean. However, I doubt that we ever stop by here again if in town. read more

Well I'll join the others who reviewed this restaurant. As a former breakfast restaurant chain owner, I would suggest you pass this place by. Hardly any customers at 9:00 in the morning, and I can see why. The food was mediocre at best. Service was very slow, only one server. The kitchen was just as slow. I had the green chili omelet. Very dry,how can you make green chili dry? It also wasn't green chili. Banana peppers, bell peppers, don't belong in green chili. Really not worth your time or money. No TP or paper towels in the bathroom either. read more

I'm kicking myself for not checking the reviews by others beforehand. We each used the vouchers for a complimentary $8 breakfast + coffee that we received from The Inn next door; the interior looks very nice and modern but the service was extremely poor. We only saw one server and one busser, and the server told us to wait to be seated. We waited by the door for at least 20 minutes and stared at her while she was at the cash register fixing a bill for another customer (we could've just seated ourselves). There was only two other groups dining but we again waited for a long time after being taken to a table, and we never received the waters that we asked for. At this point, the couple sitting behind us were visibly upset that the bill was wrong after multiple attempts and the server just continued to make excuses. We also asked for creamers with the coffee but she promptly forgot. The food came out pretty fast so we ate quickly, but we had to sit patiently for her to come back for our bill (she was too busy talking to a customer who came in after us with a cute dog). She also cheerfully told us that we might still owe them few cents "because vouchers and taxes are weird like that," even though we specifically ordered from the breakfast menu for hotel guests (for the $8 voucher) and a coffee, and we didn't order refills for coffee so that made zero sense. She ended up not charging us anything extra, but why did she say that then? We're from a small town and we're used to slow services, but we just felt like we were being mistreated because we didn't voice our concerns like the other couple. This is very unfortunate because there was so much opportunities missed. We stayed in Lander for one night and I wanted to think this was a one-off thing, but we won't be coming back. read more

I do not eat out often and had not been to The Summit for quite some time. Recently, I have had breakfast and lunch there several times. The service is prompt and the food delicious. I am anxious to try a Friday evening. I have heard they are superb! The seating area by the fireplace is a perfect spot to enjoy a cozy conversation with coffee or tea. read more

This place is nothing short of awful. It appears (ok?) from the outside, but once you enter, your expectations get lower. You wait forever for someone to sit you, when 95% of the tables are open and your expectations lower. Add on top of that horrible food, uncleanliness and miss-charging my bill... at least the dhiarhea afterwards felt cleansing. read more

Had trouble getting the attention of the waitress to take our order and then waited nearly an hour to get part of it. The missing item took another 15 minutes. The waitress never checked back on our food and one item was not what was ordered. Took the receipt and returned to talk to the manager the next day but no manager was available and those who were there could do nothing about our complaint. This is the first 1 star i have given to a restaurant, and they don't even deserve that. Poops up here. The hotel there is great and they give you a $7 off your meal voucher, so you think "Hey, why not". As soon as you walk into this place, it's like food has been rotting back there. I wonder what the fridge temperature is? The reviews on this place are horrid, and i wanted to give this place a fair review but yikes. The meat was over Microwaved, the eggs were barely cooked, and the french toast (My favorite breakfast item to get) was not too far from being plain bread. There was no way that i was going to send my food back to that monster back there, no way can you even think that was a properly cooked meal, even if you are blind! I didn't complain about the french toast, i was just praying that it was soaking up the e.coli from the food i had just ingested. Didn't have to pay much with the voucher, just the tip, because i somehow felt sorry for the people working there. I am alive. Very disappointing meal and service. Restaurant has a pleasant appearance. I ordered the nachos which had a delicious description. When it came, it appeared very plain. It took me a few minutes to realize it did not have the beans or the "homemade" salsa. The cheese was sparse and not completely melted and the beef looked like it had been sitting (dry and dark on top). When the waitress eventually returned I pointed out the problem and she did not apologize or seem the least bit sorry. She stated they had run out of the salsa earlier and "did I want the beans?". The nachos did not resemble the description at all. She did take $5 off the bill but I don't think I should have had to pay for it at all. I wouldn't have ordered it if I'd known they didn't have the salsa. I also did not like her attitude. I would not recommend or return to this restaurant. read more

My friend and I have eaten lunch here once/month for the last two years. We always marvel at how empty it is, yet they stay in business. The service is usually slow because they only have 1 person on, but the food is ok and prices decent. Several months ago, after having ordered the same thing several times with no problem, I ordered a soup/sandwich combo (the menu does not specify sandwiches) and was told the sandwich I had been ordering for months can not be combined with the soup. (I have ordered before as the combo). In order to get that sandwich, I had to pay $2.00 more. Ok. Then twice we realized, after looking at the bill, that we were being charged more than was stated on the menu. We spoke with someone, and they changed it to reflect the menu price. No problem. Today we went again. We both ordered the large chef salads (excellent, by the way) and got to the register and explained that the bill was reflecting 55 cents more than the menu. I couldn't care less about the $1.10, but it's just wrong to do this. The young man told me, "Yes, our menus need to be changed". He then took my card and did not change the price. I questioned this and he told me that he doesn't know how to change it. I asked him to find someone who did and was told they are both off the clock. He then told me he already rang it up and nothing could be done. Ok food, bad service. Just remembering that when we walked in, we noticed that our feet stuck to the floor with every step and there were at least 3 empty tables not cleared. Bad management as well. read more

We went to the Summit Restaurant on a Friday night. Ordered two meals, one being Prime Rib the other a Shrimp and Pasta dinner. Both were delicious! The Prime Rib was cooked perfectly and the seasoning was outstanding! That is the BEST Prime in Lander. I loved the Shrimp and Pasta. The shrimp Salt seared with just a hint of heat at the end...Amazing.... the Pasta is made with real cheese and cream, also outstanding! The service was excellent and the dining room is beautiful! If you haven't been there for a while, like us, I recommend trying it now. read more
