Deb likes this place and we were close to this one since we were here for a cruise. Note: they do NOT accept the Yelp 10% checkin coupon. Not sure how Yelp can offer this without the business consent but a manager said no and they have no relationship with Yelp or any other coupon offer. Had reservations and arrived early but we were still seated pretty quick. Table was nice and decorated with rose petals. Our server was great and seemed happy that we were 'frequent shoppers'. Orders in and drinks ordered. However after the cheese and salad course we did wait a long time between courses. So the Wisconsin tirio was really good. So many good flavors. Loved the cauliflower with the cheese the most. Next I had the blue cheese salad with spinach. Delicious! Our 3rd course had steak, shrimp and chicken with all the great sides. Bartender who was a pleasure (sorry I forgot his name) made the experience. He made sure my son & I were taken care of. We got there about 5 mins before HH was over. It's been a really long time since I was back and of course the service has not gotten any better. From 6:45 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and our waiter did not fill our drinks once the entire time luckily there was extra water glasses on the table next to us. It was like the waiter disappeared for half the night. On this trip the bathrooms look like they hadn't been cleaned all day because it was only 6:45 when I got there so you think they would have been cleaned about 45 minutes ago before the dinner rush. The worst part is that I bring out the pot of broth they're acting like it took forever to make a pot of broth. As if the consumer is clueless that there's a giant steam table for 50 gallons of the broth that they heat up every day and scoop into your pot and bring it to your table to heat up further when the waiter says that the order is up. So in the waiter doesn't put your order up he pretends like they just got done making the broth from pork bones right before he picked it up and had to sift out the bones. I'm sure the business owners will apply again with a bunch of nonsense blah blah blah about how I don't understand fondue. The bottom line is what it takes me this long to have fondue at my friend's house there's also many cocktails lots of music and good laughs entire time. I think the corporate version of fondue doesn't work out the way the original designer of this restaurant had planned out. At this point because I had the same but worse experience from 4 years ago I'm starting to think it's just poor management at this location but this location has baby so salty but I'm unwilling to try other locations when I'm out on vacation. Overall I'll say it again! This spot is only good for dessert! Bring a date here after a nice dinner and dip some delicious sugary treats and a pot of hot chocolate. The Melting Pot (International franchise - 1 in Edmonton, Canada)- Viera, FL-4.5 Stars Looking unflatteringly at my random name generator, I was reminded that I forgot to remove chains from my parameters and lo and behold if one wasn't staring back at me, rather smugly I might add. There it was, just sitting there, The Melting Pot. The Genie of the Generator decreed it and who am I to disagree with a Genie?? To that end, I climbed in the Big Boy Mobile and pointed her north toward Viera and my dining destination. As a Gen Xer, I was familiar with Fondue as the country went through this Fondue craze in the 70s. I swear every dinner party I went to as a child someone had a pot of oil or cheese or chocolate on a burner with stuff to dip. As such, I have to say, I was looking forward to sampling their wares. I was here long ago when they first opened, and I have to say it was outstanding, but then the franchise was sold and the corner-cutting began (sadly). Anyway, for those that are unfamiliar with Fondue, you order your chosen protein and cooking method and they then bring the food and pot to your table. Basically, all the server has to do is bring you raw ingredients and be charming. Jordan was just that friendly and on the ball I mean hey, it's not like I am gonna complain about how my food is cooked. My waiter was Jordan and he was very personable and on point. I asked for a watermelon cooler to quench my thirst along with a Wisconsin Cheddar starter, and a three-course fondue of Filet, Shrimp and Herb-crusted chicken breast cooked Bourguignonne style sans batter and panko. It wasn't all that long before Jordan returned with the Wisconsin Cheddar, and my drink. I would be remiss here if I didn't mention their outstanding selection of non-alcoholic drinks, and while I went with the Watermelon Cooler, it was a hard decision to reach. The cooler was extremely pleasant to taste. It rang the bell. It wasn't overly sweet and had a very smooth finish leaving a delectable melony taste lingering ever so slightly. The Wisconsin Cheddar was so good, I had Jordan bring another plate of fresh fruits and veggies to immerse in this delicious concoction of melted Fromage. This consisted of Aged Cheddar, Emmenthaler, Sam Adams Boston Lager, Garlic and assorted spices. Delizioso! The key to any good fondue is the dipping sauce. Yes, the quality of protein is important, but that can sometimes be masked by the use of an outstanding dipping sauce. While the filet, shrimp and herb-crusted chicken were very good (the crust is firm and diverse) the sauces really are the stars here. The four sauces are a Curry Sauce, Horseradish Sauce, Steak Sauce and a Gorgonzola Port Sauce. Each sauce was an archetype of its genre, so to speak. They were all quite spectacular in their own right. I hadn't been back to The Melting Pot in probably 8 years and I was so disappointed on how much the quality has gone down. It took forever to get the food - I think we were there for 3+ hours. I ordered the California salad and it was not great. The dressing tasted like a very artificial strawberry flavor and the salad barely had any toppings. We also ordered the steak lovers fondue and I was also very disappointed. You cook your beef in broth so it takes longer to cook. The steaks were also not very tender and flavor wasn't quite there. Honestly the only good thing about the whole dinner was the dessert. I would go back to get just a chocolate fondue. It's hard to get that wrong. read more

The AC was broke (told to us by an employee) and had been having problems for at least a week, so it was like a sauna here. This is pretty unacceptable on one of the busiest nights of the year. The pick three or four is excellent and they allow substitutions. As far as disabilities go they are very accommodating. They have plenty of room in the dining area, bar and restrooms for any type of wheelchair or mobility device. A little pricey but nice for a special occasion or once in a while. The best part of the night is by far the chocolate fondue at the end of your meal. Many many choices of chocolate and add ins. What a complete let down my experience was. I reserved a table for a graduation celebration, party of 6. We were sat around 3:45 p.m. quite early, pretty empty restaurant. I had been to a melting pot previously, however the rest of the party hadn't. The server did not explain the process well at all. Granted this is a place that things do take time, esp cooking meats, however the server just would not come back for looong periods of time. She prepared one broth, then started the mojo broth, instructed us she was not finished and needed to add citrus, so we couldn't start the vegetables. No exaggeration, comes back 15 min later with a wine refill and said "I was getting a refill" so she STILL couldn't finish the broth. I'm just extremely let down by how the whole process went. There was zero urgency in the waitress and no excuse for leaving us looking around waiting for her throughout the entire meal. Wasted $300 and I just couldn't wait to leave. It took us 3 hours (3 HOURS!) to get to the chocolate fondue and I was just so done that we just told her we didn't want it and bring out the bill, which took her another 15 minutes to bring out. Save your money, go eat somewhere else, don't risk getting the same service as we did.... the food was nothing to brag about, so loss cause in that department. read more
