Finally stopped at this Megabite location to try their 'Olde English style fish & chips'. Wow! Super yummy fish fillets. Very flaky and fried batter is not too greasy. We were super impressed. We recently read a comment on FB stating this place has way better fish & chips than Winston's, and they were right! We also ordered a large pizza. We can't come to Megabite without getting their pizza. Love the thin crust and that they load their toppings to the edge of the pizza... no skimping. My only gripe is that when you order a half & half pizza, they don't adjust the price according to the actual toppings. They charge whatever the most expensive half is as the whole pizza price. I wouldn't mind if they added extra toppings to the cheaper half, but they don't. The inside of this location is way bigger than the storefront suggests. Very spacious. They have a decent parking lot, with parking on the side and back of the building. Staff is always friendly and helpful. The restaurant is always clean. There are tons of video games inside, including pinball. There is plenty to do for all ages. Definitely recommend. read more

Granted it was just after a power outage but we got treated like crap, there were floaters in the ice and the pizza was box frozen pizza level. It's a pretty cool place to hang out at. The pizza is good but more $$ than I was expecting. I'm not sure what was going on in the kitchen when we went, but our eyes were kind of burning and it smelled like something was burning. Maybe they need to get a better fan or filtration system. Got recommended this place by a few people for their pizza, so decided to finally give it a go. Super nice staff with solid recommendations. Small, but great variety of beers. Had a delicious hazy IPA at the recommendation of one of the guys there. They had some cool little arcade games and pinball machines. Very old school cool pizza vibes. And a mystery set of stairs that I didn't explore but am intrigued about. Really dug the loaded fries. The pizza looked fantastic and was fresh, but there was something "off" about it that I can't quite put my finger on, but left me wanting more. Megabite Hwy 99 Went for lunch today with two of my girls. We couldn't use any of the 5 high chairs for my 6 month old as one was covered in dried sticky sauce and the others were so sticky and covered in residue that we couldn't get them apart. A gentleman from a table nearby even tried. I went to the car and grabbed my stroller for the baby to eat in instead. We asked for a menu to take to the table so we could decide without a wiggly baby trying to escape, the menu was laminated and sticky, covered in visible food. Unfortunately I didn't see the paper menu by the counter till I went back up to order. My bad 100%, I need to be more aware. Tables were clean, staff was friendly enough, the restaurant fluctuated between hot and cool, for a second I was wondering if I was having hot flashes 10+ years early. lol Food: My loaded tots were brought out 5+ minutes before my daughter's pizza. They were also missing the sour cream but they remembered the ranch request. And my tots where stuck and I mean stuck to the paper in the tray. I've never had that happen. I'm literally picking out paper from my food. At least My teen was happy. Did I complain to staff? Not until I couldn't eat my food with out paper as an ingredient. The Megabite is my family's go to pizza place. Their hot oven combo never disappoints, and their other food options are pretty good too. Specifically, when I don't feel like pizza I'll get their grinder sandwich and a side of jojos. Delicious, heart stopping, greasy American comfort food at its finest. The restaurant itself is pretty nice too if you feel like eating in (even though I typically don't). A good variety of arcade games to play, as well as a dining area with TV and some more video game consoles. It has a very divey feel, but in the best way possible, and it would be a convenient place to kill some time and get some good food. My only nitpick is that it is a little pricey, but for what you get you can't complain too much. It's a very underrated restaurant if you ask me. read more

Stopped in for a celebration pizza party over the weekend and finally got to try their pizza and jojos! I've been hearing such wonderful things about the pizza and food hear so I was excited to finally try it. The pizza was good. We had the pepperoni and also the combination. Both were thin crust but more chewy than crispy. We also had the mozzarella sticks and jojos. They mozarella sticks were good, nothing special. The jojos were just okay. I was disappointed because everyone raves about it and it tasted a little plain to me. Service was good, the staff was friendly. The parking lot for this establishment is very small and tight. The restaurant is small also but there is games inside for the kids to play. It felt like the air conditioning wasn't on because it got so hot inside, so one of the customers went up and turned the ceiling fan on above the table across from us. Clearly a local favorite. Lots of ambience, charm and a surprising amount of parking at the 99 Hwy location. Staff is very friendly and cheerful both on the phone and when you get to the counter to pick up your pie. The vintage arcade games give it an 80's touch while lending credence to their name. We were just doing takeout but there looked like a lot of large tables in there if you're with a group. P ordered their largest 2-topping with chicken and red onion. For almost $40 it's a pretty small pie that lasted one evening with a few small pieces left split between two people. I wouldn't call it thin crust exactly as the plentiful cheese and toppings stayed upright when you held a piece to take a bite and the crust had a cracker crunch to it which is great for some but not for us. We like it softer and chewier. Not a fault, just not our preference. The pizza also seemed to defy physics in staying warm. Even when fully nuked in the microwave, it never stayed hot for long and when we got it home, it was room temperature. It's been a challenge to find good pizza as newcomers to the Vancouver area and our findings were verified by a native New Yorker who helped us move and has lived here for over 20 years. So far we've only found one place that we liked (not loved) and it wasn't found here. read more

I thought I would treat the family and ordered 4 orders of Loaded Jo's and a side salad. Delivery should have only taken an hour or less. After 90 minutes I had to call the store to find out that they missed our order. Then when they did make a delivery to my house it was a pizza. When I called to request the correct product they were apologetic, before getting rude, and when the food FINALLY arrived it was cold, missing all the bacon and did not arrive with any sour cream. I had 9 tubs of Ranch with a salad no bigger than something a 3 year old would eat that costs $7.95 -- At this point I'm calm but furious. I call and speak with the manager who tells me he is more than sorry, can't apologize enough for this being my very first and only order with them -- he is going to accept full responsibility and not only is he going to credit my order but he'll do 50% on my next order! I hung up thinking WOW way to step up. BUT today I call to use that credit and the Assistant Store manager tells me my credit of what should be approximately $60+ doesn't exist. And I am welcome to order a pizza at 50% but that's it. I explained it all to him again and then explained what the other manager told me he was going to do to resolve the situation. He told me it wasn't done that way. My exact words to him were "Well now you have the opportunity to make it correct" and his reply was "So. I'm not going to." I am a Customer Service Manager in the city of Vancouver so... To the actual Store Manager -- you should be Embarrassed of your Assistant Store Manager. He just made a fool of your establishment. Wow, just wow. So. Freaking. GOOD. I had never been here or heard of this spot until yesterday & with absolutely no expectations I dove in blind and ended up eating a meal in an old school pizzeria that blew my mind. Megasupreme pizza, 5/5 stars - $42 for a large (worth every penny). Sincerely some of the best pizza I've ever had in my life. Piled high with cheese, sausage, pepperoni, ham, olives, mushroom, onions, green peppers, and topped with fresh tomatoes. Seriously so good I could almost cry. They don't skimp on the toppings and for me, it was the perfect ratio of bread to toppings. I don't generally like how overly sweet and bready most pizza is, and this pizza is NOT like that. The dough was strudy enough to hold all the toppings but wasn't hard and sort of had a sourdoughish flavor (but I'm not sure if that's what it was). Either way, DELICIOUS! One pound of Jojo potatoes, 5/5 stars - $8. I don't even like potatoes or jojos and I REALLY enjoyed these. It was almost like eating a perfectly breaded, perfectly seasoned block of mashed potatoes (which I'm sure sounds crazy, maybe even gross) but all I'm trying to say is somehow they made a solid potato spear taste SO velvety and rich that I literally can't hang. It comes with whatever dipping sauce you want and we chose ranch.... Ranch, 5/5 stars. Yes, I really am giving their ranch its own line item and own separate score because it was that good. The ranch was ice cold and a perfect compliment to not only the potatoes but literally everything else. I loved it! I'm thinking it was a sour cream based ranch and I was really surprised at how good it was. A lot of places have moved to gross ass shelf stable depression ranch and I was happy af when I tasted the ranch here. 2 meat grinder, 5/5 stars. We choose ham & pepperoni for the meats and the sandwich was all things flavorful and melty. Low-key, I already want to go back for another one of these sandwiches. I'm very disappointed to have to leave a negative review as I have loved Mega Bite since long before it was Smokey's. I used to eat here at least a couple times a month for the last 19+ years. But now being disabled and very low income, tonight I was treating myself with this splurge. $26.00 including tip was far too much for this experience and the subpar food I received!! I ordered fish & chips and a side salad. The person taking my order was in a rush! My order was ready when I arrived a few minutes early. The employees were just polite enough. Obviously very ready to go home in 40 minutes. When I arrived not a customer in sight. I placed my order at 8:11p. Fries were barely cooked very pale in color and tasted terrible. The fish was just ok. The side salad @ $7.95 looked good but they did not include the dressing I had requested. I had to go to the store to purchase some so I could eat the now nasty soggy salad. Upon looking at my receipt I see I was charge for clam shell. REALLY!! I called in the order and drove over to pick it up. Do you charge customers in your establishment for napkins and the use of the plates or the paper you put in the plastic baskets? Last time I ordered a pizza, it was not good and very expensive so I decided I would no longer get pizza from Mega Bite. Prior to that over a year ago; I brought my granddaughter in as she loves fish & chips as much as I do. Unfortunately we both got very very sick. I thought it was just an unfortunate accident. I grew up with Smokey's and was sad when they went out of business. So I was delighted to hear that I could order a Hot Oven Combo once again. It's usually wonderful, although once in a while we get a pizza that seems to lack sauce. We have learned to order with extra sauce and fresh mushrooms (otherwise you get canned). We always get it delivered and have come to expect an 80 minute wait. Which is fine because the pizza is sooo much better than the chains. I have ordered pizzas from both the Hazel Dell and the Orchards location, but I was extremely disappointed with the latest version. The Hot Oven Combination used to be loaded with toppings; generous, flavorful, and filling. The pizza that I received this weekend had minimal toppings on it--each piece had sizable bare spots where only cheese was visible. The flavor was pretty blah overall--it needed more spice (or maybe just more pepperoni). The crust also seemed thinner and less flavorful than I remembered. I've been driving from Portland for this nostalgic pizza, but after this latest experience I'm not sure I'll bother again. read more

Food is a cross between low end sports bar food and some place you take to food in the kids mouth to shut them up. Based on ratings thought this place was a real contender but the pizza fell way short. Topping spread was a little haphazard and left some slices with outer crust margins 3x the size of others. Overall crust was a little too dense and not very flavorful. Cut of slices was inconsistent and didn't always fully cut the outer crust. Cheese on one pie was not adequately distributed to hold topping together and w/o a circus balancing act more than half the topping just fell right off the slices when lifted. The over all rating may well be higher outside of COVID dive the place appears to lean heavily on the ambiance and enter rod the location. But for food alone this is what I received. read more
