We met a group of friends here for dinner around 6pm on a Saturday night. It wasn't busy at all for a weekend. There was a kids birthday party happening on the outdoor patio, and only one or two tables occupied inside. There were 9 people in our party. They have a large private parking lot so there is plenty of parking available. We were seated as soon as we entered the restaurant. Our server was friendly enough, but neglected to keep our water glasses full, which was frustrating on such a hot day. Our order was taken relatively quickly; however, our food took forever to come out! It was surprising since there weren't many customers in the restaurant. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food which was a relief. I ordered the turkey ranch wrap with cheese curds as my side. The wrap was oddly served warm, including the ouside tortilla wrap grilled in grease. I was surprised and disappointed. They should really indicate that on the menu. It was good, but I would have preferred a cold wrap. The cheese curds were delicious and not greasy at all. I ordered the molten lava cake with ice cream for dessert. It was fabulous! Very rich and the ice cream was the perfect pairing. Overall an okay experience. Service was lacking. The servers were friendly, but didn't keep water glasses full until we reminded them a few times. A pitcher of water for each table would have been a great idea for our large group. The food also took way too long...maybe an hour?! Dessert took forever too. Not sure if we'll return. Side note, they charge 3% of the bill for using a credit card. This is a chain restaurant and I was put off by this when we received our bill, especially since the food seemed a bit overpriced to begin with. read more

Third time/try wasn't a charm. Decided to order the bacon-wrapped () meatloaf special ($25) after seeing it delivered to another patron. When I received and tasted mine, the mashed potatoes were cold and the meatloaf was barely warm. When I finally got my server's attention and she saw it sitting to the side, I informed her of my findings and asked if they could warm it up. She replied, "like in a microwave" and I said sure, I guess. After the first reheat, the potatoes were still cold. The second reheat was better and finally after the third reheat, it was nice and hot. As for the quality of the food, c-. The meatloaf was more like a meatball with a lot of breading. The potatoes were good once hot, the vegetables that accompanied the meal were soaked in butter and cooked al dente which is fine if you get a knife. Their toast served with the meal was also very saturated in butter. Very disappointed in the amount of money I spent on this lack-luster meal. In lieu of a discount on my meal that could serve hot, I received a $5 promo card good for my next visit. WOW. Unfortunately there will not be a next time at the Hazel Dell location. I may have gave their Ridgefield location 5 stars and told the owner I'd give Hazel Dell another try and I'm sorry I did. read more

I have never been to a Playmakers before and I really enjoyed the food. My girlfriend ordered chicken strips with fries. The strips were big, juicy, and delicious. The fry's were cooked too perfection. I ordered BBQ bacon blitz burger and it was good. Burger was cooked too perfection and I upgraded to the fatboy fries. The fries were like a hybrid French fry and potato chip. Really good!! Service was good!! My only complaint is that the ranch had a little too much dill in it. We took my 13 yr old granddaughter for her birthday celebration with the family. It is definitely family friendly and an upbeat environment! The DJ had everyone sing Happy Birthday to her and made it a more special day for her! The DJ kept everyone engaged in the trivia games and all the happenings in the bar & grill. We went on Taco Tuesday and they were delicious! We really like the sautéed pork & beef taco and those are now a favorite. Collin was our server and he was the best! Very polite, helpful, and very attentive! When we go back we will ask for him! The nachos are disgusting. There was zero cheese on them. Mostly some kind of cheese sauce which was bland and flavorless. The menu said "house fried" chips. I highly doubt the chips we were given were house fried. Not one thing special about them at all. We paid $28 because we got the "team size" and added shredded pork. I would have gotten more satisfaction out of burning my dollar bills than eating those disgusting nachos. As a side note, the place was completely empty. wilted lettuce for the cobb salad, was also warm. the pretzel for the appetizer was pretty good, lots of buttery and salt which is a good thing for me. decent cheese dippin' sauce. i got the club sandwich, not really a club sandwich. missing a few key characteristics of a club sandwich. the sandwich was just cut in half, not triangles, and no third piece of bread. decent quality, not bad. they have battered fries, those were pretty tasty. wish i tried some of their more exotic sauces. pricey for what you get. the waitress seemed stretched too thin and needed help that wasn't there for her. I keep hearing about this place, playmakers, so I figured I'd give it a shot. First impressions they had lots of parking, and the vibe is pretty cool. Lots of decorations. Lots of tvs. So far so good. Sat ourselves as per the sign, in the restaurant side cause my little football fan was under age. They have an elevated floor for the restaurant side so you get just as good of a view of the tvs as the bar side. Awesome points awarded. Our server was fast getting over, almost too fast because we were slacking on the pickin. My first drink was a Negroni, it had a nice big cinnamon stick on it, which I didn't approve of so I took it off, and saved it to take home and make some cider with. The birthday boy/football fan got the buffalo mac. It looked spectacular. Tasted just as good. And that garlic bread it came with was really amazing. The girlfriend got a side of fries and a salad that had chicken on it with ranch. The fries were delicious and hot out of the fryer, the side of mango habenero she got with the fries was good too. But the ranch, oh wow, it was so tasty. Scratch made and definitely not hidden valley. If this is a reason you come to restaurants, and it's Vancouver so for some people it is, come try this ranch. You'll be hooked. I got, I don't know... I got a burger but I forgot the name. It was the spicy one with chipotle jam and grilled jalapeños. It also had bacon and caramelized onions. It was great. All the flavors worked together nicely. The only tiny critique I had about it was the onions were a little too caramelized. Like almost French onion soup cooked. Nobody would notice that but me and it's so insignificant it didn't hurt anything. Still amazing. Our server Colin flew by and dropped off the finishing blow to this meal, playmakers own signature hot sauce. And it's good. So good I think I ate an 1/8th of the bottle. But by then I had worked my way into a 20somthing oz ice cold beer from 54' 40' out of washougal and it was perfect to cool the fire. Colin was top shelf, very efficient, working a nice big section and doing great. Good appetizer and entree suggestions and the kitchen knocked it out of the park. By far our favorite location. We come at least once a week. Family friendly, pet friendly, and good company from the other regulars. The staff knows us well and always remembers to check in. We always bring our Maine coon cat and he loves his steak bites from the pup menu. read more

Rolled in on Friday early to beat any crowds. We like to do Happy Hours around town. Plenty of parking and easy to get in and out of here. Heard mixed reviews of this place and thought we would give it a go. We were greeted as we came through the door and told to seat ourselves. Placed looked great inside and had TV's all over. It was a great make over from Izzy's. Took a seat at a nice and clean table and started looking through the menu's on the table. There were not many people in the place. I would guess 4-5 tables and if you have been here this place is pretty big. Asked what the specials were and was told Long Islands which are not our thing. Asked about Happy Hour menu which had other options that we were not told about. Ordered a couple drinks and an IPA even through the waitress couldn't tell me what IPA's were on tap. Didn't start off real well. 2 of 3 drinks came out ~15 minutes later and our waitress took our food order. Another 10 minutes goes by and I start to get up to go find the 3rd drink and the waitress runs down to the bar and I see they start making it. ~25 minutes to get the third drink on a Friday when the place is empty? The first two drinks were empty shortly after the 3rd one arrived late. Nobody in sight to get more rolling. Ordered 2 fish and chips, mac and cheese, sliders, chips and queso, and a personal pizza for everyone to share. I was concerned that the waitress didn't write down our food order especially after forgetting 1 out of 3 drinks. At ~40 minutes after our order food started showing up. As I suspected they missed the 2nd fish and chip order and I said forget it, I didn't want to wait another 40 minutes for a forgotten order. Then asked if we wanted more drinks in which I just said we missed that boat and would take a couple of waters. Fish and chips was good, mac was good, chips and queso was good - but tiny portion. The pizza was doughy and under cooked for our taste, but wasn't bad. One slider was great and one was raw. Not sure how someone managed that when I assume they cooked them both at the same time? I don't know if this location is too new at this point? I think that service has been hurting in the dine out places we go as of late and this place is no different. Pay attention to your patrons, take notes on the order if you can't remember them, and NEVER let a drink run dry ever. This place lost at least one round of 3 drinks and possibly 2 by not being on top of things. The place was full of homeless on Sunday night/ industry night. So i guess they have free pool on Industry night but there was like 5 homeless in the bar getting free sodas and hogging the pool tables. Far from someone to just hate but they were shooting up in the bathrooms and taking all the table side condiments(ketchup mustard) in there purses, like not only stealing but leaving none for everyone else. I was a regular on industry nights but fare to say I dont wanna get stuck by herion needles while taking a piss after a beer at the bar. Won't be back. Okay. So 3.5 stars because the food is great, but a bit overpriced. The cider is great. The servers' attitudes are great. However, I once sat 30 minutes outside in the rain awaiting the waitstaff to take my food order, so I walked out. Tried to pay for my drink but nobody showed up at the cashier to take my money, so I left some bills on the till. I have eaten here a few times, and the waitstaff are far from attentive. We regularly head to this Playmakers at least once a week, typically on Wednesdays for Bingo, and we've always had a great experience. Our group is usually the same, and we often have the same server, which contributes to the friendly and enjoyable experience. (We are here so often our server knows our drink and food order) However, tonight was quite different, and we've decided not to return. When we arrived, our IDs were checked, and the server pointed out that one of us appeared significantly different from his ID. He was 19 in that photo and is now 26, but aside from a shorter hairstyle, he still looks quite similar. The server took his ID to consult the manager at the bar. When she came back, she insisted it still wasn't him. We approached the manager she had just spoken to, and he confirmed that it was indeed the same person in the picture. However, he had initially dismissed it because he had only seen a side profile while we were seated at our table. Rather than coming over for a clearer view, he chose to deny it outright. Frustrated by the situation, we opted to leave. It was ridiculous. read more

We went there two months ago after my grandson's soccer game. It was the worst service I've ever had. We had to ask for silverware we asked for a spoon for a coffee and an iced tea and we got a gigantic two spoons then we got the meal. We gotta ask for napkins and silverware. I have been to the Hazel Dell location 3 times, now. Unfortunately, two of my visits were disasters. I am disappointed in the so called new manager to say the least. I ordered my food about 6:15 pm and waited and waited. I am guessing 25 minutes or longer. Finally asked the young male manager to check the status of my order. I explained to him that, I was hoping that I would be able receive my order before the place was got super busy for bingo. He proceeded to look at me with a "deer in the headlights" look and continued to make drinks and other tasks. Not once did I see him go to the kitchen. After another 15 minutes I asked my server to check on my order and they apologized for forgetting to put the order in or something. Finally my food arrived. Food was good. Last night I was sitting by a couple of ladies at the bar top and the same thing happened to them. The older lady stated no biggie and smiled at the bartender. Unfortunately it was the same manager that snubbed me off a week prior. I am super disappointed in the service and the manager. While the menu of the various playmakers is the same, this one is absolutely horrible when it comes to food. Service was also at a snails pace for drinks during lunch. The servers were very nice, just slow and it wasnt because the place was busy. The Ridgefield location, while slightly better on the same BLT I ordered, is still a mediocre sports bar. Both have a somewhat cold environment, as if a sports bar opened inside a hospitals cat scan room is the best way I can describe it. I've been going to Playmakers for years and have never disappointed. They just added some things to the menu and I look forward to trying them all.
