Wedge salad special - A wedge salad with large iceberg lettuce wedges topped with bacon bits, chopped tomatoes, and crumbled cheese, served on a black rectangular plate. The setting includes glasses, utensils, and a smartphone on a rustic table, indicating a dining environment.

Been here a few times in the past and for a restaurant at a time share/hotel, it exceeded all expectations and actually looked forward to visiting when in the area. Food was excellent and most dishes had a VT touch/flavor to them. This last time was very disappointing from both the drinks and the dishes. The restaurant was out of a lot bar ingredients and was not able to make many of their featured drinks. They also didn't have stock of many local spirits, which was surprising given their focus on VT ingredients. The drinks they could make were just bad. Margarita and daiquiri, avoid those. Their wedge salad was a poor attempt, see the photo. They offer candied thick cut local bacon as an appetizer and also offer the candied bacon on many of their dishes. Didn't order the appetizer this time, however, the candied bacon on the entrees was thin and not noteworthy. Not sure if they are taking cost cutting measures, but it definitely felt that way. Service was ok, the waiter/bartender took back one of the bad cocktails without issue. Overall, don't think we'll be seeking this place out next time we're in town.

Pork tacos - A black plate holds two tacos filled with shredded meat and topped with shredded lettuce and vegetables. Alongside the tacos are a portion of seasoned rice, a serving of black beans, and a lime wedge. A glass of water is placed nearby on a wooden table, suggesting a casual dining setting.

Great, convenient restaurant located in the Holiday Inn Ascutney Vacation Club. Great service!

Wings - Fried chicken wings are arranged on a black rectangular plate, garnished with chopped green onions. A small bowl of creamy dipping sauce is placed on the plate. The plate is on a restaurant table with a glass of water, a napkin, and other tableware visible in the background. The setting suggests a casual dining environment focused on flavorful, crispy chicken wings.

So me and my boyfriend stayed at the resort right by this spot, there was limited food options around so we were skeptical considering there's little to no competition. But everything we got was slamminnnnn, the wings were fresh and hot and super crispy. The sauce was amazing. My salad (Vermont in the bowl) was soooo good and bursting with flavor and my boyfriend didn't talk the whole time which means he was enjoying his food great spot lol we will probbaly be coming back again during our short stay. Sooo good. The chef even came out to ask us if we enjoyed our food. Must visit, def saving this one in my traveling bookmarks! Not the mention our hostess was sooooo sweet and very kind. Made us feel very welcomed in a foreign state. Try them out! Heads up they are closed Tuesday and weds.

Chocolate-Delight Desert (Don't remember the 'official' name after that Irish Coffee but it was DELIGHTFUL-FRIGHTFUL) - The image shows a restaurant table with a dessert and a beverage. The dessert is a chocolate lava cake dusted with powdered sugar, placed on a white plate with a spoon and a drizzle of chocolate sauce. The beverage is a milkshake topped with whipped cream and chocolate syrup, served in a tall glass with a straw. The table surface is textured, and there are additional items like a wine glass, jars, and utensils in the background.

Very nice dining experience! Service was prompt and pleasant with Ashley at our beckoned call. It was not busy, yet I got the feeling management greatly promotes all patrons be treated as royalty, as we were this night. Food was delicious and presented impeccably. Drinks were forthcoming in more ways than one. And the nights dine was just very fine. Chef Hafid came around to check on the quality of his wares which, by the way, was superior-fare with a flair.

    CHICKEN-APPLE-CHEDDAR SANDWICH

We ordered dinner last night, we got it delivered to our room. It was quick within 15 minutes. I got the chicken apple cheddar sandwich with fries. I thought the sandwich was really good, I never had a sandwich with pieces of apple on it before. The fries were great too. The place looked really nice, the ambiance would be a good place for dinner. If you're staying at the hotel, I'd recommend it

Upon arrival, the hostess said they did not have any tables or reservations. She was super accommodating and was able to move some things around. We had to wait about 30 minutes but we were patient since she was willing to work with us and we really wanted to eat here! The server was fantastic and provided water and bread. My brother had a lemonade. We started with an order of calamari. I then had the chicken parm while my brother had the ribs. He swears it was the best he ever had. I got a piece of carrot cake to go and ate it when I got back to our hotel. Everything was fresh and delicious. We even got a surprise as a train passed and shook the whole dining room. It was a great experience overall!

We didn't have a reservation and the wait was going to be 90 minutes long... Luckily we were able to find seats in the bar! Bartender Marty was great and got our orders in right away. We were happy to listened to him that the half portion is a good size for 1 person. Between the 4 of us, we ordered steamed mussels, half speghetti and meatballs, half chicken ala vodka, and grilled salmon. Before dinner, we were served with warm bread with maple butter - that was sooo good. All the dishes were solid, but our fav was the homemade strawberry apple crisp. They hit it out of the park, delicious!! Even with the half orders, we still had leftovers of the speghetti to take home. Reasonably priced, you won't be disappointed.

Luckily, we didn't have reservations on a busy Friday night and scored a seat downstairs near the fireplace. Parking was a bit tight, but we managed to find a spot close by. The interior was beautifully decorated with string lights and barn wood beams, creating a warm, inviting atmosphere. Our waitress was very kind and clearly tried her best to accommodate the entire front of the restaurant on her own - for her first evening on the job, she did a great job. We both enjoyed the specials - salmon with broccoli and rice pilaf, plus I had a delicious beet salad. I enjoyed a refreshing raspberry mocktail, while my friend had THE RUBY SLIPPER--Absolut Ruby Red, elderflower liqueur, grapefruit juice, raspberry puree, and a sugar rim. We waited a bit for our check since I was in a rush to leave to take antihistamines; unfortunately, I discovered there was mustard in the salmon sauce, which I'm allergic to. I should have asked before ordering, but I only realized after my symptoms started following my last bite. Overall, it's a cozy, quaint place with limited parking, and reservations are recommended for a smoother experience.

Live music on certain nights, but not the two times we went. We tend to have dinner early though. Starter salads and soups were delicious and homemade. I had a Spanish onion soup on one night and a caprese salad variation another night (fresh mozzarella and summer tomatoes with a basil aioli)! Mains were equally delicious - herb wrapped tenderloin cooked to rare perfection, Carlos Chicken (a brined half chicken then coated with Cajun seasoning and deep fried). We have also had the pork loin and another chicken dish that had a creamy, sublime sauce. Definitely indulge in the bread basket and desserts; all of which are made by Heidi, one of the several family members that have been running the Skunk since the mid-80s. From-scratch delicious food, really lovely garden seating, and great cocktails! And last but not least, really friendly, attentive and professional wait staff. All the reasons why locals come often and vacationers come back year after year!

For dinner I got the GF buffalo cauliflower starter (has a vegan option) and it was so good. The spice level was perfect and it was made really well. The owner and management were inside talking to customers at the entrance. The ambiance is chill, friendly and with good music. About a third of the tables were full, with a full bar against a wall in the middle of the room. Great beer selection that included some great local brews. We tried their crispy wraps which reminded me of the old days when Chimichangas were menu staples in a now gone chain.... Our server was nice and she told us her favorite dishes ands I took her recommendations and it was superb. A welcome addition to Woodstock. We used to stop at an iconic coffeehouse and restaurant on the town center but it's got so busy recently that the 30-minute wait isn't worth it. Especially when we're on our way to Killington or Okemo. We may have just found a fav place.
