    L10. Sesame Chicken

What a disappointment. I was really looking forward to trying this place based on the positive reviews. Not only did I receive a partially incorrect order but what was delivered was subpar at best. The portion size was extremely lacking. The spring rolls were actually pretty good but the crab Rangoon was the worst I have ever had. It was all overly cooked dough. There barely if any actual filling. I couldn't even finish it. The main dishes Sesame Chicken and Orange Chicken lacked flavored and was fulfilling. The sauce was overly sweet and the flavor was extremely basic. The search for high quality Chinese cuisine in the DFW continues.

Service was 10/10. Food was good 8/10. Had the tres leches cake (cheap) 7.5/10. Overall 8.5/10 go here

Today I tried the Sesame Chicken and it is to die for!! My new favorite!! The chicken chunks are very moist and the coating is crispy under the sauce which is so delicious! The egg rolls are nicely browned and crispy and have a great flavor! The broccoli and rice are both steamed perfectly. You normally wouldn't have too high of expectations for this restaurant that is located at the end of a small strip center, with a convenience store and gas pumps on the opposite end. But, do not be afraid. It is worth the drive to order from this restaurant. The staff is very nice and friendly and prepares your order quickly and with great care. I LOVE The Mango's for when I have a craving for Chinese food.

A small family owned restaurant with some of the best Chinese food around. We go there at least once a month to eat.

We ate egg rolls, crab Rangoon, and soup, followed up by orange beef and beef fried rice. The crab Rangoon could have used more stuffings, but what was there was good. I thoroughly enjoyed the orange beef. The tenderness of the beef and the taste of the sauce was on point. Definitely don't pass on this one if you are craving Chinese food. This place is absolutely made for a group outing, and we're already planning to come back with a group to take full advantage. The food was a delight. The Singapore noodles had this wonderful curry flavor that I absolutely loved, and the combo fried rice was just as satisfying. We also ordered the Peking duck (P1 on the menu). It was good, though not quite as flavorful on its own as we'd hoped. That said, once you load it up with the hoisin, cucumber, and spring onions, it all comes together beautifully. The bao buns that came with it were soft and delicious, honestly a highlight. We also sipped on hot jasmine tea throughout, which was the perfect, refreshing complement to the whole meal. A solid spot with great vibes, tasty dishes, and room to grow on us even more with a return visit.

All the food had amazing flavors so I would recommend everything. My only note was the beef in the noodles was slightly chewy so I would suggest another protein option. The service was great. Our server was patient with us while answering our questions on the menu and knowing the menu well enough to recommend us things that suited our palettes. The restaurant is spacious with many tables to accommodate different size parties so it did not take long for us to get seated.

We ordered: Cumin Lamb (side: fried rice); Singapore Noodle Combination (chicken/shrimp/beef); Eggplant w/ Garlic Sauce (side: steamed rice); Okra w/ Giant Oyster Mushroom (side: steamed rice); and Xao Long Bao (6 pcs). WOW! The braised okra with giant oyster mushroom positively SURPRISED and leap frogged to the top of my preferred vegetable GOTOs...The cumin lamb was SO tender and VERY flavorful. One of the best preparations yet. The Singapore noodle combo and Xao Long Bao did not disappoint... More importantly, the service we received was attentive, courteous, knowledgeable, and prompt. Sadly, the eggplant with garlic sauce is the ONLY reason a star is withheld for this review...it detracted from traditional Chinese style; notes of garlic eviscerated by the chef's sweetening to satisfy an American palette...Why fix something that's unbroken?...I get it. The restaurant has to cater to its customers who populate this mix use (business/lease residential) area at the NW corner of Alma and Hwy 121, but doesn't that limit its draw? Guess we'll just have to head either further south on Central (HWY 75) to the Legacy & Spring Creek areas or further west to the Preston and Warren Pkwy Frisco TX area to satisfy our authentic Chinese cuisine food cravings.

We ordered the A-Choy vegetable and it was awful, old and yellow and not cooked well. It's like they didn't sauté it in a hot enough wok so it wasn't crispy. So disappointing this time.
