I send my clients with chronic pain here to complete their wellness and at home care for strength, as part of their rehabilitation. Joined for lap swimming. When pool is open, it's usually almost perfect. BUT (and this is a big…read more"BUT") management of the pool schedule is bad. Hours for lap swim posted on their website are usually not correct as pool is not open when hours posted say it is. Was told by front desk people their website is not accurate and I should only use their new 'app' to check hours. So I loaded app and have used that to check pool lap swim hours. Tried to swim on weekday last week. Checked app 2 hours prior and said lap swim open 1:00-5:00 pm. Arrived at 2:10, changed and got to pool deck at 2:15 only to be told "We are closing for 30 minutes from 2:30 to 3:00 today." Today, a Sunday, at 9:00 a.m. app says pool open for lap swim from 10:00-1:00 pm. Arrived at 11:00 only to find out pool is closed due to swim team practice. they are "very sorry" for my inconvenience. This has happened 4 or 5 times in past month. Frustrating to plan my day/week, drive to the YMCA, and show up only to find out pool is not available. Seems like this is happening more and more often in past 5-6 weeks. If only we could know when pool will be available for lap swim. Seems like this should not be that hard to do. Put someone in charge of schedule and posting updates. And, once hours posted, stick to that schedule.

What I like the best is this: our sessions are carefully planned to address all of my individual goal areas. She mixes up the exercises keeps me motivated. She "multi-tasks" the exercises which focus on one than one muscle group. Best of all she is very fun to work with. I recently had a shoulder replacement. Cindy worked with me in tandem with my physical therapy regime to regain mobility and strength. I really believe I made rapid gains in my recovery because of all my prior and current work with Cindy. There were some places offering $10 a day pass but didn't have a sauna or steam room. This place had both plus an ice room. Which was more like a really high air conditioning room. Nothing like serious cold. They also had a pool which seemed like only a bunch of old people use. The training area with turf was really nice but if that stop light is red (I posted a picture) that means the trainer is there with a client and you're not allowed. If it's orange you are allowed but to be careful and green it's a free for all. Not many people use it but it has bunch of cool equipment to use there too. The gym had everything and I was only able to find one thing broken which is rare at a gym this big. They also have one of those dryers for your bathing suits in the mens locker room if you do bring a bathing suit for sauna or pool. It's a bring your own towel like most gyms but for such a high gym membership I thought they may include that but nothing I could really complain about this gym except pricing.

Though I am a member of the 34th Street and Mount Vernon Road location, it's nice to switch it up a bit. I was told that this franchise and the Wiley Blvd location are owned by a different entity than Mount Vernon Road gym. It's interesting how a few things are a bit different. I like the upper body machines at this location - they are Lifeline brand. I plan to alternate between facilities just to take advantage of the differences and keep the body off guard. (I lifted at both CR and Marion last night). This gym is clean and the equipment is well maintained. There are even a few products up front that you can buy after hours simply by signing a clipboard. This location does seem to get a little busier at times but at 8:30 PM on a Friday, there were only a couple other people there. If you are able to adjust your schedule, you can often have the gym almost to yourself. :) I really like Anytime Fitness. If you want a low cost membership, clean and well maintained equipment, and are able to plan your own workout, you can save a lot of money and have an enjoyable time.

I did it for the membership and the personal training as training went I found myself getting weaker and found out that I had breast cancer, which caused me to have to stop. I try to let them know about the situation and they said that I made an obligation and therefore I am fully obligated to the full year no matter my situation they are not sensitive to your needs. My son continued his membership, but they completely lied to him about being able to exit with no additional fees and backpedaled on their conversation. They're out for the money. Do not trust this establishment.
