Joined for lap swimming. When pool is open, it's usually almost perfect. BUT (and this is a big…read more"BUT") management of the pool schedule is bad. Hours for lap swim posted on their website are usually not correct as pool is not open when hours posted say it is. Was told by front desk people their website is not accurate and I should only use their new 'app' to check hours. So I loaded app and have used that to check pool lap swim hours. Tried to swim on weekday last week. Checked app 2 hours prior and said lap swim open 1:00-5:00 pm. Arrived at 2:10, changed and got to pool deck at 2:15 only to be told "We are closing for 30 minutes from 2:30 to 3:00 today." Today, a Sunday, at 9:00 a.m. app says pool open for lap swim from 10:00-1:00 pm. Arrived at 11:00 only to find out pool is closed due to swim team practice. they are "very sorry" for my inconvenience. This has happened 4 or 5 times in past month. Frustrating to plan my day/week, drive to the YMCA, and show up only to find out pool is not available. Seems like this is happening more and more often in past 5-6 weeks. If only we could know when pool will be available for lap swim. Seems like this should not be that hard to do. Put someone in charge of schedule and posting updates. And, once hours posted, stick to that schedule.

This place will screw you over with hidden fees every chance they get. It was explained to me that my membership would be 12 months long, after which I could cancel. If you want to do it before then, you have to give a 30 day notice and you will still get charged for the next 30 days (which is already stupid in my opinion but I digress). My 12 month basic membership finished so I put in the request. They STILL charged me $50 for the 13th month (which was useless to me because I moved away). I talked to multiple people on the phone and they were not willing to budge on this. So either I could have waited until my year is up and get charged for the 30 additional days that I can't use. Or I could have cancelled a month early but that would result in an early cancelation fee. SO EITHER WAY, THEY ARE CHARGING ME AN EXTRA FEE TO CANCEL. ITS A JOKE. On top of that, although I canceled on the 13th, I still got charged the annual fee on the 20th. So now we're totaling over $100 in fees for absolutely nothing. The person on the phone said "when people catch it, we are able to reverse the annual fee" which tells me that if no one calls, they are getting charged the annual fee anyway. I can't imagine how much money they've made on screwing people over with fees, just to have trash customer service on top of it. I'm so frustrated. Absolute joke.

Fitness equipment takes a beating so it needs regular maintenance and they are pretty good about fixing things quickly when they do break. There is a woman that works the front desk in the morning who can be rude sometimes. Overall the employees aren't bad, but could be more friendly such as talking with all members instead of just the regulars. No Wi-Fi??? That's a big drawback in today's world where every other person has a mobile device they're listening to. Lockers are only half-size, so you can't hang up a sports coat or slacks. That's a shame because there is more than enough lockers to go around. I suppose they want you to rent a full size locker by making the daily use lockers inconvenient.
