I had the pleasure of getting the opportunity to visit the MAC to workout while in town visiting…read morefor the weekend. This place is amazing! The best of the best in this town! There is so much equipment to use! I loved how there was equipment available to use! (Compared to the gym I go to back in Orlando where I have to wait a while to use some equipment because of the younger crowd hogging it) The treadmills are so cool! Love the wireless charging and ability to pick what I would like to watch on the screen. The equipment and weights are all newer and well kept. It's nice and bright inside. They have so much to offer! I am really jealous this isn't my gym back in Orlando. They have cycling classes, HIIT classes, and many others. There is also a pool and hot tub. The sauna was so relaxing. They have a wet sauna and a dry sauna. There is this neat machine that will spin your swim suit to get the water out of it. The locker room is massive and has space to get ready for work. What's also impressive is there is a separate workout room just for women!!! So a woman can workout and not feel uncomfortable for whatever reason. They do have a kids room! So you can bring a kid and still get your workout on! There is a Hair Venue and a place to get a nice drink or coffee. Overall this place rocks! Hours were 5am to 9pm during the week and the weekends the hours are 7am to 4pm. When I come back to Cedar Rapids to visit, I will certainly make this my place to workout even if it is just for a day or two.

I was traveling and wanted a week gym membership. This place offered a 45$ week pass or a $20 a day…read moreor $90 a month. There were some places offering $10 a day pass but didn't have a sauna or steam room. This place had both plus an ice room. Which was more like a really high air conditioning room. Nothing like serious cold. They also had a pool which seemed like only a bunch of old people use. The training area with turf was really nice but if that stop light is red (I posted a picture) that means the trainer is there with a client and you're not allowed. If it's orange you are allowed but to be careful and green it's a free for all. Not many people use it but it has bunch of cool equipment to use there too. The gym had everything and I was only able to find one thing broken which is rare at a gym this big. They also have one of those dryers for your bathing suits in the mens locker room if you do bring a bathing suit for sauna or pool. It's a bring your own towel like most gyms but for such a high gym membership I thought they may include that but nothing I could really complain about this gym except pricing.

I'm almost afraid to write such a good review because if the area finds out what a good deal this…read moreplace is, it might fill up... :) I visited this facility last night. Though I am a member of the 34th Street and Mount Vernon Road location, it's nice to switch it up a bit. I was told that this franchise and the Wiley Blvd location are owned by a different entity than Mount Vernon Road gym. It's interesting how a few things are a bit different. I like the upper body machines at this location - they are Lifeline brand. I plan to alternate between facilities just to take advantage of the differences and keep the body off guard. (I lifted at both CR and Marion last night). This gym is clean and the equipment is well maintained. There are even a few products up front that you can buy after hours simply by signing a clipboard. This location does seem to get a little busier at times but at 8:30 PM on a Friday, there were only a couple other people there. If you are able to adjust your schedule, you can often have the gym almost to yourself. :) I really like Anytime Fitness. If you want a low cost membership, clean and well maintained equipment, and are able to plan your own workout, you can save a lot of money and have an enjoyable time.

My son and I were pretty excited to find something close from home. They're very welcoming, and my…read moreson indicated how he wouldn't be able to participate for a full year and they told him it was not a problem that he could exit out with no additional fees he joined as part of the monthly membership. I did it for the membership and the personal training as training went I found myself getting weaker and found out that I had breast cancer, which caused me to have to stop. I try to let them know about the situation and they said that I made an obligation and therefore I am fully obligated to the full year no matter my situation they are not sensitive to your needs. My son continued his membership, but they completely lied to him about being able to exit with no additional fees and backpedaled on their conversation. They're out for the money. Do not trust this establishment.

Joined for lap swimming. When pool is open, it's usually almost perfect. BUT (and this is a big…read more"BUT") management of the pool schedule is bad. Hours for lap swim posted on their website are usually not correct as pool is not open when hours posted say it is. Was told by front desk people their website is not accurate and I should only use their new 'app' to check hours. So I loaded app and have used that to check pool lap swim hours. Tried to swim on weekday last week. Checked app 2 hours prior and said lap swim open 1:00-5:00 pm. Arrived at 2:10, changed and got to pool deck at 2:15 only to be told "We are closing for 30 minutes from 2:30 to 3:00 today." Today, a Sunday, at 9:00 a.m. app says pool open for lap swim from 10:00-1:00 pm. Arrived at 11:00 only to find out pool is closed due to swim team practice. they are "very sorry" for my inconvenience. This has happened 4 or 5 times in past month. Frustrating to plan my day/week, drive to the YMCA, and show up only to find out pool is not available. Seems like this is happening more and more often in past 5-6 weeks. If only we could know when pool will be available for lap swim. Seems like this should not be that hard to do. Put someone in charge of schedule and posting updates. And, once hours posted, stick to that schedule.
