One of our regular favorites. Glad to see the Loop reopen after getting flooded out last year. Split a bar-b-que pizza and salad with the Mrs. One of our favorite "comfort food" combinations. You place your order at the walk-up counter and you get a beeper that lets you know when your order is ready for pickup. What I eat here again? I do on a regular basis. Would I recommend it to family and friends? Definitely. When we have visitors we'll sometimes come out for lunch or dinner. Enough choices to keep folks happy.

Darn good burger! Fresh and cooked to perfection, even the fries were good. Highly recommend and will definitely return when in Chapel Hill

Me and my shake date accidentally ran into this wonderful place! You see me and my boyfriend are burger and shake lovers! We stopped in just to try a burger- we got the *BBQ Burger with steak fries and 2 *Chocolate Shakes. The burger was flavorful and the bbq sauce was delicious. They didn't ask how we wanted our burger so I'm assuming they do them all medium well which is what we got and it was wonderful. The shake was creamy and very chocolatey! It is now our favorite shake in the area. It bumped up our list! We are excited to go back and try other items!

Went to The Loop in Chapel Hill again but instead of pizza, we ordered something we haven't ordered before: a $13+ BBQ Chicken & Bacon Cheddar sandwich (with choice of side, and of course, my girl's favorite salad: Caesar salad with tuna steak (instead of chicken). First of all, we're grateful that unlike most restaurants in Chapel Hill, The Loop doesn't close until 10PM. Sometimes, we end up eating dinner late, and we don't want to just settle on food from Cook Out or a taco truck. As expected, The Loop wasn't crowded around 9:30PM; customer service is excellent with no issues. Its dining area looks safer and cleaner than a typical Waffle House. BBQ Chicken Sandwich & Caesar Salad with tuna steak were ready after around 12 min. - seems reasonably paced for this kind of food. The side we chose with the sandwich was steak fries, and we asked for a small cup of Ranch sauce for dipping. Fries tasted crispy & Ranch is better than the bottled kind you get from a grocery store. The grilled chicken inside the sandwich was well-cooked, and the barbecue sauce & cheedar made every bite flavorful. The bun tasted fresh, and the bacon added a smoky taste. It's nothing fancy but not bad for the price. We shared both the sandwich, fries & the Caesar Salad with the grilled tuna steak. My girl squeezed lemon on the salad to enhance it with slightly sour taste. Our latest dining experience here proved that The Loop can still be an enjoyable and inviting casual place to eat after 9 P.M., even if we didn't order pizza.

Creamy French onion soup.

I haven't been here in at least 15 yrs or more. Back then we tried it several times and weren't impressed. We thought after all these years since they were still around that things might be improved. Well, somewhat. We each got a chicken wrap, one just chicken salad, the other chicken tenders. Neither one was very impressive. A very big wrap, but nothing to write home about flavor wise. We also each got the French oinon soup, which is actually creamy, unlike any I've ever had before. That I would recommend. While it doesn't have the depth of beef flavor as traditionally made, it was still very good and a huge crock of it. In fact, with the size of the soup, we really didn't need the wraps and took most of them home. I would definitely come back for the soup again, especially on a cold day or evening. All that being said, there was a steady stream of customers getting take out, although not many that were eating in, so they definitely have an audience for their food.

Strawberry Shake

Surprisingly good! Strawberry shake: Sweet, creamy, and viscous! The whipped cream was pleasantly fatty Cajun chicken salad: The chicken pieces were flavorful, the dressing was not too overpowering, and the croutons were crunchy but luckily not rock hard

Good pizza! My favorite is the BBQ chicken pizza; I usually get an extra side of the BBQ side.

Sup Dogs - Smokehouse Dog + Buffalo Dog Combo

Sup Dogs

Sup Dogs is hot dog heaven, full stop…read more If you love a creative, loaded, over-the-top hot dog, this is your place. The Firehouse Dog is a must -- bold, flavorful, and perfectly balanced with just the right kick. The cheesy jalapeño dog is everything it should be: melty, spicy, messy in the best way. And the taco dog? Somehow ridiculous and incredible at the same time. The fries are crispy, seasoned, and absolutely addictive, but let's talk about the real stars: the sauces. There are so many good ones that choosing becomes the hardest part of the visit. Drizzle, dip, smother -- you literally cannot go wrong. Even the buns deserve love -- soft, toasted just right, and strong enough to hold up to all that delicious chaos. Everything here is done right, from the flavors to the quality to the fun vibe. Sup Dogs is one of those places that makes you excited to come back before you've even finished eating. Five stars, no debate.

Everything was fine until the hostess propped the door open. They left the door wide open and everyone in the front seating area was miserable. I asked if they could please close it and I was told no. They said the hostess stands by the door on game days. So they really don't care if their customers are comfortable or not. That says a lot. They certainly could've made adjustments given the cold and windy day. But our waitress was kind enough to move us when a table opened up in the back. That was a big relief and much more comfortable. Now to their food. The bacon cheese fries were great but didn't have bacon so we had to get them to bring back to sprinkle on top. The ranch was excellent and we all liked the app. My youngest got a grilled cheese which he enjoyed. My oldest got a burger which he said was okay, but nothing special. But the real disappointment comes in with the hot dogs. My first dog was cold, like unappetizingly cold. The waitress was very nice and took care of it immediately. However, the second dog came out almost immediately. If you like a boiled hot dog that's reheated in a microwave, you'll like their hot dogs. But I want a quality grilled hot dog. We'll stick to our ol' faithful CH burger joint from here on out. And I hope next time your customers are extremely uncomfortable on a freezing day sitting right next to the open door, you exercise some courtesy and close the door next time.

The buffet was one of the best I've seen from an omelette station, lots of delicious food stations (my daughter said the shrimp was so good that she went up for seconds) and so many yummy tasting desserts. We were in and out within 45 minutes since the buffet was self serve. We did have to track down a waitress in order to pay, but no biggie since it was a lovely atmosphere to enjoy while waiting. I can't speak to their normal meals, but if it was as good as the Sunday buffet I"m sure it's great!

One of the girls recently turned 21 she said and she was very friendly and approachable. We sat at the bar to eat and have a few drinks for a girls night. It definitely is a special occasion type of place because it is so extremely expensive. I literally cringed when I paid almost $50 for two drinks for the night. I got a single glass of wine as well as an espresso martini. Not really anything special. It almost seems like a lot of the hype around it is because it's so expensive it's considered "classy". It's just silly It was cool to check out some of the downstairs area of the hotel but I wouldn't be back anytime soon unless for an event or another gathering. I will say everything that I got from the drinks to the shared appetizer of pistachio feta(?) and pita was good. It was a lot better experience with the food than my first experience during a lunch time I came with my nana years before. Overall, it's an interesting place, but not a common hang out spot unless I was on a surgeons salary.

Aside from the overuse of butter and kinda being extra oily, it had plenty of options and decent quality. But since my Freshman year, I've seen a decline in both the quality and options of food available. There are fewer food options available and the food, in general, is just of lower quality. They have also begun to replace items such as the soft-serve machine, with single-unit ice cream that comes in a cup. Or removing multiple cereal options, no longer having the sushi bar, and also no longer having a soup section. I recall various occasions that turned my stomach -- such as when I saw workers placing the lid to the ice bin on the dirty floor, and when they failed to notice that a spider had made a large web and was dangling over the the dishes under the food heat lamps. These are just SOME of the issues I had that led me to stop buying student meal plans after freshman year. I decided to take my chances with three years of dorm cooking rather than try to stomach another terrible dish from this place!

The line is usually pretty long during lunchtime since UNC is essentially like a small city and healthy, fresh food is hard to come by. The past two times I've gone, I got the chicken salad sandwich (they were out of the Eastern BBQ the first time). It comes on toasted sourdough with lettuce and tomatoes. I also got sweet potato fries my last visit. The sandwich is delicious--definitely up there with the best chicken salad sandwiches I've had. Crispy bread, great chicken, fresh produce. The sweet potato fries were quite disappointing--just didn't do it for me. Price isn't too bad but it's still steep for college students. Expect to spend between $7 and $12 for lunch. I'll definitely continue going to 1.5.0. as it's a great change of pace from the dining halls. Edit: been here probably 2 dozen times. Consistently great. 5 stars.

I couldn't finish it. At another visit, during lunch, I ordered their Berry Good Salad with chicken and I think it's the best thing on the menu.
