Good facilities and good price, but these people are ALWAYS trying to charge me for late fees that are their fault. In the most recent incident (of three), my debit card on file got flagged for fraud at the bank and I had to get a new one. The first email I got from them was 11 days after my payment had failed and one day after they had ALREADY charged me a late fee! I was like ok, if you can send me an email telling me you're charging a late fee, then you could have sent me an email informing me that my payment had failed and that you were *going* to charge me a late fee. That's super shady business. And when I called them about it, the lady serious fought me over it. She was like "oh you should be checking your bank app every day to make sure your payments are going through." I was like ma'am, are you actually telling me that this is my fault and that I should be CHECKING MY BANK ACCOUNT EVERY DAY TO MAKE SURE THE DOZENS OF AUTOMATIC PAYMENTS I HAVE SET UP EVERYWHERE GO THROUGH??? NO, of course not. No good business on earth lets your account sit unpaid without telling you about it and then EMAILS to tell you about the late fee they just charged you. That's BS. read more

The experience from start to finish was really great! Great rates, super clean, super convenient, and courteous service! Free 3-hour use of the (brand new) truck on move-in day was an incredible bonus - wow, did that made my life SO much easier! The manager, Tim, was accommodating and kind over the phone and at lease signing/move in. Ryan provided cheerful and incredibly courteous customer service by helping me back the truck into the covered garage bay (what a god send THAT is since it was pouring!) and even came up to bring my keys to the locker when I left them at the desk! I've stored items in two lockers in the Juneway Terrace Lock-Up for years and and can say it's the best self-storage place I've ever used. Ryan, the manager, is very responsive and yesterday I had the good fortune of having Jamal in the office. I can't say enough good things about him - he brought me a chair when he saw me looking for a comfy place to sit, politely offered me water when he heard me cough, and did a great job cleaning windows, sweeping, and generally making sure things were organized and where they should be. And when we checked out, he did the paperwork quickly without mistakes. I'd absolutely recommend this place if you need a top quality storage place. read more

Sadly I have to say that the Lock up is disappointing. Ryan, the manager in the spring, was great and very helpful. I don't think he is there anymore. I was overcharged and when I brought it to the new manager's attention I was told they refund me, however, it has now been 3 months and after dozens of phone calls all I get is the old... the check is in the mail.. routine. The corporate office does nothing to assist. It is very disappointing that there is no accountability for this company. read more

I have rented two storage units (two separate occasions) at this location over the past few years. My experience has been highly positive, particularly interacting with Ryan and Dalton. They are very professional, responsive, and courteous. The storage units are very secure, and the overall property is clean and well kept. Moving things in and out is really easy with a large indoor bay for trucks or cars to pull into right next to the elevators. One of few businesses that I truly believe warrants more than 5 stars. Have utilized storage units on several occasions and this is by far the best we've experienced. Rented a 10x10 unit to store a one bedroom apartment while daughter's graduate school continues to be online. We visited on a Saturday morning and Ryan was simply fantastic. He showed us the available units and processed us quickly and we were on our way. Saw him several more times as we moved a few things ourselves and then he assisted the movers we hired when they arrived 2 days later. His customer service skills as good as it gets. We needed a place to store our belongings for a few months while we were moving across the country and waiting for a new house to be built. I looked around at a few options; The Lockup Self Storage was the most convenient to where I lived, but they were also the most professional and had the best prices. Dalton and Ryan reached out and worked with me on getting the right sized unit and scheduling (and rescheduling) the move-in truck they have available. They had great communication throughout--on the few occasions when I called with questions and they were away from the desk, I got a return call within a few minutes. Clean and well kept units plus Ryan and Dalton were so friendly and great to work with, they really walked us through the process with ease and looked out for us every step of the way. This is a beautiful new storage facility on the edge of a Chicago almost into Evanston. Ryan the asst manager was awesome- very helpful. I compared this with one other storage facility so I can say that I appreciate the location, spotlessness, the wonderful service, Ryan!, Ryan's clear directions!, the value, the security, and the carpeting. I love that the place, including units and hallways, is all carpeted. There is easy parking in the lot and along the building (super quiet street), and they offer their truck for 3 hours, no charge. Brand new facility, exceptionally clean. I stopped by last week and the manager (Edgar) showed me a unit and put it on reserve for me. Came back today to complete the process, and the assistant (Brian) was very helpful. He showed me the unit to make sure it would be big enough. He helped me wade through paperwork. I declined their insurance in order to use my own homeowner's policy, and this was new to Brian, but he managed just fine. Very helpful in terms of showing how to access the loading dock, how to use the elevator, etc. I like the fact that the place is climate controlled, carpeted, and very clean. read more
