I would not suggest anyone going to the Barrie Location of the Loan Arranger. I have had nothing but headaches since i purchased this vehicle from them.
It started when I got the loan, the original paperwork that they gave me had a date of July 24 for the payment to come out. I marked it on the loan paperwork, this is my first time buying a car and I am purchasing a home so my credit is crucial for me right now. The 24th comes and goes and no payment is taken. My husband is concerned and call the Loan Arranger in Barrie, and they said that it was coming out on the 4th and we were all good.
The 4th comes and goes with no payment, NOW the Loan Arranger in Barrie tells us the payment is the 7th. NOTE these dates are not on our original paperwork. How the dates were changed without me knowing or signing for it is beyond me.
Needless to say my 1st car payment bounces, i get an NSF charge and now I am handling everything.
I call the Loan Arranger in Barrie and spoke with a man in regards to this matter. He suggests I call the company my loan is with, I do. A very nice lady helps me and now I have to call the Loan Arranger in Barrie back because this was an error on there part. Not only has my first car payment bounced, but in turn it caused my home insurance to bounce. TWO dings on my credit, thanks the Loan Arranger in Barrie.
So instead of calling the Loan Arranger in Barrie back I just take it upon myself to go in with my paperwork and show him. We meet and sit, he looks over paperwork and agrees it is an error on their part and that when i bring in my bank statement he will "cut me a cheque". I said thanks and was elated this was going to over with.
I was so wrong.
The following Monday August 17th 2015, I go to my bank and get the statement then go to the Loan Arranger in Barrie, my husband is with me. We meet with this man (he has a name but I am just going to call him man) that I was dealing with the previous week. We show him the paperwork and the nsf, he says okay leave this with me and i will get back to you in a couple of days. I wasn't concerned even though he had said he would "cut me a cheque" so I went on my way with my husband.
Once we are home I get a call from this man. He asks me if the loan company is paying the nsf fee. I remind him of our conversation on the phone and the meeting we had last week and that he was paying the nsf as per our agreement. He can not remember anything from last week. I ask "You don' rememeber, we spoke on the phone and i came in same day?"
His reply "Listen honey, I see alot of people on a daily basis"
Time has frozen for me now.
I said "Did you just call me honey?"
He stammers and says oh sorry I didn't mean to....
from this point on I am livid but keep calm.
I called him dood, he retorts or i am dood now, i say back yes if i am honey you are dood!
Can you get this handled by tomorrow (wanting to be off the phone with this very disrespectful ignorant man)
he says yes.
I say good thank you I will call you tomorrow.
ok bye
DONE right....?
wrong.
Having calmed myself down, I called the Loan Arranger in Barrie back to inquire of the business owners name. Not wanting a problem I block my number and call them. This guy (not name but what I will use) answers the phone. We exchange pleasantries, then...
me "can I have the name of the owner please?"
guy "who is this?
me "can i have his name please?
him who is this?
me "Are you refusing to give me his name?"
Remember, I am random customer, have not dealt with this guy on last 2 occassions at the Loan Arranger, but ironically he was the person who was my "Loan Arranger" He was on vacation last 2 weeks, I know because I called to deal with him on this issue but instead got man.
him " you asked me a question I am asking you a question"
me "And your name is guy right?"
him "yes"
me I will make a note of that
him: you go right ahead
he then hangs up on me.
I am shaking, visibly upset. I suffer from anxiety and the disrespect that was shown to me on that day is still distressing me.
I immediately call back. no answer.
Left one message informing the owner of the Loan Arranger in Barrie of what had happened to me. He never tried to contact me.
Try calling several times more and finally guy answers again.
me "guy don't you remember me, i just bought a car from you. I don't understand why you are being so disrespectful?"
guy "you don't know when to listen and you don't know when to shut up"
he hangs up.....
That was my experience. I did not call back on Tuesday August 18, 2015 to speak with the owner of the Loan Arranger in Barrie for fear that I may get treated just as harshly.
When we first went in everyone was so nice, we thought we were treated fairly and guy was nice, so was man. But customer service went downhill once they had me off the lot with the car. All this for $48.00. read more
