We got Christmas lunch with the family here as they were open and we were walking by to the metro station to go to the sites. Quick seating and enthusiastic staff. The place began filling up quick at about 2. We ordered carbonara, bolognese with burrata pasta, a pizza margherite, and a Caesar. Cappuccino was pretty and fairly good. Pretty quick service and large portions. It was a bit expensive though. The Salad was only for two of us but it was topped with a lot of large chicken fillets, whole roast garlic, and croutons. Croutons were goofy and hard, the lettuce whole in part and part chopped up and a little bit too much anchovy flavor for my personal taste. But worth the high price for volume and protein. We couldn't finish it. The carbonara was pretty good and fair amount of bacon with a whole uncooked egg stop to stir in. That was weird as a carbonara is to be included with the egg, cheese, and meat in the kitchen. I make a better version but it was still good. The bolognese really rich and less pasta than the copious amount of sauce but pretty good actually. We found ourselves dipping the pizza crust in it. The pizza was ok but not exciting. The pastas were served in large copper short skillets. Omer was the server and he was quite a character and worked hard to take care of us. Overall deserving of an extra half star but sort of overpriced and not too authentic to Italy or my home cooking. read more

One of the best if not the best Italian dining experiences I've had. Everything was just so lovely! The ambience, friendly and hard working staff, the menu, and one cannot forget to praise the giant copper canister of hot chili oil!! I've never seen that and it's amazing, and I must replicate at home. It gets super busy so be patient and don't expect to sit right away. I love Paris and this neighborhood! And for my first meal back in the city after 1.5 years (with greater dietary flexibility), The Little Italy didn't disappoint. Food/drinks - No complaints! I enjoyed the saumon avocat salad; fresh sushi grade salmon, light yet filling, unexpected flavor with the grapefruit pieces. I also tasted the pesto focaccia (it's basically pesto covered pizza with pull-away knots the side of dinner rolls on the edges); hot and yummy. Glass of house rosé was not too sweet and perfect complement. Service: It's Paris and not a Michelin restaurant, so honestly I didn't have high expectations. Our food came out swiftly, at the right temperature; we were able to flag someone fairly quickly to ask for water and the bill. Ambiance: It's cute. Closely arranged outdoor café style seating. Beautiful greenery, wood, and pops of color. And I didn't sit on one but some tables have swings for seats! Felt lively. Tip: get there for dinner before the 7:30/8 pm rush. Verdict: Food and ambiance was good enough to look forward to going back (and service wasn't a deal breaker). read more

Perhaps I just got lucky in comparison to the other reviewers, but I had a really nice lunch here with a friend on a Sunday in September 2020. We arrived around noon on a sunny day, and it was pretty empty, although it filled up shortly after and was busy by the time we left, so we probably got in just before the lunch rush. We had our pick of seats, and picked a table on the terrace, which was beautifully decorated. My friend had been before and recommended the pesto rosso, which she warned me was a bit spicy but delicious. We both ordered this, and it was served with tomatoes in a photogenic metal pan. It was indeed a bit spicy, but very flavorful and satisfying. I would happily order it again. When she brought it out, the server indicated to us that usually it is made with a different shape of pasta, but they had run out of that. I was fine with it and my friend, who had had the dish before, didn't have any complaints. After the pasta, we both ordered the tiramisu because I have probably never left an Italian restaurant without first having tiramisu. This came in a pretty huge serving, which they scooped out in front of you from the full tiramisu. It was fantastic, and I really forced myself to finish it even though I was pretty full already. The service is terrible. This is PARIS people! If you are traveling to the highest visited place in the world and do not know this you are simply ignorant to the culture of this city. This is not America. If you intend on eating low priced food in areas with high tourist volume than expect not to be waited on like in the states! The waiters will NoT come and check on you, refill water, or even bring you water for that matter without you asking. This is normal behavior for most waiters in Paris unless you are fine dining, in which case have the right to complain. Now why 5 stars? As a traveler I value; Good food*, Good location*, Clean restroom*, Affordability*, and Free WiFi*. lIttle Italy get 5 stars on all of the above criteria. The food is delicious and they even have a happy hour! I always get the same thing, a pizza- because that's what they are known for. For drinks- stick with beer or wine ( again, what the French and Italians are known for) and you'll enjoy your choice ! Really cool outdoor seating area (some seats are replaced by chain rope swings). Was very busy on the night we went. Split a bottle of wine for only 19 euro and had spaghetti bolognese and pizza. I honestly was trying to give this place the benefit of the doubt being that the other reviews here aren't amazing.. unfortunately I ended up almost ready to run out. I ordered a ravioli which sounded delicious on the menu but when it came it wasn't ravioli at all. The waiter brought me rigatoni and then said it's because they didn't have ravioli. Lol ummm I might've wanted to have known that before you ordered something else for me. I sent it back and ordered something else only to realize that it was the same thing I just had with some meat on it. Lol. Anywho, I ordered a drink and it was disgusting. This place has amazing food!!! I had fresh pasta with salmon and it was amazing. We also had fresh veggies and the focaccia . I really want to give this place the full 5 stars but I cannot because our server was awful. He was terrible. He ignored us after we ate and never checked on us. We had to ask several times for water. We had to hunt him down to pay our bill... the restaurant was packed, it's very loud and extremely busy but the food is amazing good and fresh! Would go again. The food tasted fine, although it came out cold. Very limited wine menu. One star is for the dismissive and painfully slow service. I wasn't given silverware/a napkin with my meal, offered water, salt/pepper, another drink, dessert, and my waitress disappeared. I wanted to order other things, but had to chase down someone else for a check because I had enough. Waste of money and time. The food definitely did not make up for it. Loved this place! While in Paris, France recently, we happened on The Little Italy for dinner. It had a lovely seating area outside and even though it was November, we chose to experience dining outside on the packed street seating. The line was about 6 people deep when we walked up and they had a hostess outside greeting people and seating them at available tables. We must have been the smallest of the parties, because she sat us immediately. Our waiter came and took our drink orders, and because the menu was in French, we asked for his recommendation. He suggested a pasta la carbonara, served in its own skillet, and a couple of appetizers. It was delicious and plenty! Our waiter was fabulous, as well as the hostess! read more

My mother had the risotto and I had the cacio e pepe, both of which were absolutely amazing and one of the best meals we've ever had. Wide selection of wines. The food was decent but the service was terrible. If you are not French, they do not like you. We and the other foreign customers there were treated very poorly. The waiter did not care to provide even decent service. Even though we ordered three dishes, only 2 came out. When we asked about the third he looked at us like we were crazy and then told us we could order it if we want. We tried to ask for some water but the waiter said he would be back and then never came back. Instead of attempting to get dessert we just asked for the check. He then threw the check on our table and left again. We knew we'd be waiting forever as with every other request we had. We almost left without paying because the arrogant waiter didn't deserve our money. This was the worst experience we had at a restaurant or cafe in Paris. If you are a tourist and do not speak French, do not go here! I know a little French but any of my attempts to speak French were met with an arrogant waiter responding in english. The reason I know that we were treated poorly for being tourists is that the French guests around us were treated very well. The waiter would check in with them often and provided them with great service. AMAZING. Loved every little detail about this place! The outdoor seating literally takes you to Italy, so cozy and romantic and soft lighting really is something special. There was a line when we came on a Saturday night around 9, we didn't wait long. The seating outside is tight, BUT that's Paris for you. Our server was so cute and so sweet, most the staff spoke some English which helped. The menu was overwhelming because every option looked and sounded amazing so we let our server pick two appetizers and an entree of pasta for us to share. He did not disappoint! The bread and the white creamy fluffy dip was so fresh and SOO good. We also had a eggplant type salad with fresh veggies and balsamic and it was so refreshing, i couldn't get enough of it. The pasta is served in a frying pan, which is so clever and so charming. The pasta itself was homemade and tasted SO fresh. Had a creamy white sauce with garlic and tons of fresh shaved Parmesan on top. . . Best pasta I've had to date ! I wanted to come back the next night for it again! The aperol spritzer is so good!!!!! When we asked again, the waiter with the NIKE shirt just put the bottle sooo rough, that the customer next to us felt sorry for us. We waited 20-30mints just for the salad and pasta. This restaurant is very well located with a huge terrasse. The ambiance is original with music and the decoration is pleasant with original ideas. The food is very good and the price is average (try the Nutella pizza for desert !). I ordered a vegan pizza, what I got was a lukewarm dough with a tasteless tomato sauce and some rocket salad. The worst service and food I've had in Paris. Took over 15 minutes to be approached by a man who I think was our server. I requested white wine and he replied "red wine". He was not at all engaged with us. He approached us and asked what we wanted without making any eye contact. I was a server for 8 years and I was absolutely disgusted by the poor quality of service given to people, especially Americans. Two of the four entrees were brought out before our appetizer and I never received my glass of wine. I went downstairs asked the hostess if I could order a drink at the bar and she replied no but she would have her colleague assist with the matter. My server finally brought me a glass of wine and put it on the table in a harsh manner before abruptly walking away without saying a single word. The food was not anything special at all. I have never been treated so badly by person in the Service industry. I will be sure to voice my opinion of this sad restaurant to every individual that I can. This is the kind of place that gives the French people a bad reputation for being arrogant and rude. I feel badly for the kind people in the same industry because I don't want to judge the whole on only 1 or 2 people. read more
