A lot of fun. Stopped in a couple nights. DJ both nights. Music was better the 2nd visit. Nice HH & beer selection. Bartenders were enjoyable. From good conversation to them dancing/ vibing. Landon was great. If I visit ATX again, this is definitely a stop.

Cute spot. We had two drinks here and ended up staying for an hour. There were games and a Photo Booth. Big establishment and well maintained.

Never been here and came during a Christmas bar crawl and I was really impressed w the decor and layout and of course the music! It is a two story option bar, more seating upstairs for a more relaxed and lounge feel, downstairs was much more rowdy and close quarters and standing room. Upstairs there are a few games in the back corner and another bar to aid in refills. Overall I'd love to come back and check it out. I was happy to have it on the bar crawl list and able to experience a new place.

Love the vibe The music was amazing, bartender was very lovely and the atmosphere was very cool and positive. The cocktail I ordered was delicious. There was also a photo booth with a light a user friendly feature to be able to transfer the photos to your phone. Great place

We were told to hit 6th Steet while in Austin and we did. We stopped into the Library to check it out and have a Texas Crafted beer. We asked our bartender, Gunner, what to try and he poured us a pale ale. It was good and it was very cold. The Library has a lot of books on the wall and an upper has an upper loft and a room where live music is played. We were there during the day and it was kinda quiet. I asked Gunner where was a good place to eat and he said "The Casino El Camino". He said it's the best hamburger in Austin but it's kinda weird. Hey if the foods good I'll put up with weird. Hey go see Gunner and tell him the Florida Travelers sent ya. Read on!! Go to the Library and soak it up!

I came in here on a Sunday night for the first time ever in my 7yrs in Austin. I am a die-hard bookworm, but have avoided this place on Dirty 6th because it always looked like one of the frat-boy/WOO-girl capitals of Austin where the last thing anyone in there read was a scoreboard. However, the crowd there on a Sunday night was not nearly as bad. It was still a sausagefest (my friend and I were two of all 4 visible girls downstairs), but at least the guys that were in there seemed adult-esque and the only "woo-ing" was aimed at a football game on the tvs. The bartenders here are where it's at though...they are all the typical "hot chicks", but I loved them because they had sass and personality and weren't just there to jiggle their goodies for tips. They actually know how to make drinks and mine made a mean whiskey-coke! Seriously, the two that I had were waaaay more whiskey than coke and that was totally fine by me.They also had a great DJ spinning some early 90's throwbacks that were on point and the guys my friend and I befriended turned the entryway into a dancefloor recruiting people to dance with us as they walked in. Way more fun than I was expecting to have at this place. In any case, I learned a valuable lesson on Dirty that night: Sundays are the night to go when you don't want to deal w/the "regulars" that usually haunt that part of 6th street and maybe some bars are like "books", where you can't always judge them by their "cover" (implied pun(s) intended).

Giants, great tunes, and plenty of good booze. Check, check, and check.

Ask the Community - The Library Bar

Hello,I lost a red silky coat belt on Friday night ?is there any chance you found it?I appreciate if you could check for me.thank you in advance!

As a Bay Area transplant (I know, sorry for all the traffic, ruining your city, etc) I've heard this is a place to go where I can watch 49ers and Giants games. Any truth to that?

The venue itself has a lively, open feel with an urban backyard vibe and plenty of space to move around, mingle, and actually take in the installation without feeling crowded. What stood out most was how well the space complemented the event. The layout made it easy to engage with the installation while still enjoying the social vibe. They had space for working virtually as well as displays to test some of the technology. There's a nice balance between indoor comfort and that signature rooftop-style setting, which gives it a relaxed but elevated feel. The staff was friendly and kept things running smoothly, and the overall setup felt thoughtfully organized. Whether you were there to focus on the installation or just take it in casually, the environment supported both. The line was somewhat long to get into the event as it was at capacity and could only allow more people as people were leaving the event. I was given a drink ticket and got to try the Patio Pounder with ilegal mezcal, primo aperitivo, tropical citrus, coconut, grapefruit soda. The bartender was efficient even though the lines were long. The cocktail was enjoyable with the balance of smoky and citrus flavors. They also had a variety of food bites available including chips and queso. creamy street corn, and sliders. The food was gone relatively quickly due to the crowds but it would be replenished periodically. Overall, Upstairs at Caroline proved to be a solid venue for a creative SXSW event versatile, welcoming, and very on-brand for Austin's arts and tech scene.

(RIP Chuck Negron) This was my "Must go to" spot on the first day we were here...and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! There were 2 velveteen curtains separating it from the restaurant. When the curtains parted a huge room with high industrial ceilings and architecture was revealed. WOW!!!! It had the ambience and gravity of a serious establishment with well knowledgeable staffs, clean decoration with depth. We loved the ambiance and cool interior away from Texas heat. We ordered their garlic hummus, seasoned nuts and whole bunch of appetizers I don't recall all, but everything stood out. Talking about cocktails- The bartened was extraordinary. We had French 75, Cosmopolitan, Old fashioned, Espresso Martini, El Presidente. In a group of 5 people, we definitely ordered multiple rounds of each. I tried their signature drink called Painkiller (about $20) and also another with blended 12 yr old blended scotch . Left sufficiently satisfied and I will visit this place again in Austin for drinks and some bar bites.

It brings a feeling of noir and romance with even sexier drinks. Being seated in one of the nooks is my favorite and just really adds to the overall experience. If you follow my reviews then you know I often refer to excellent cocktails as liquid works of art. And, in this case, it's like the most exclusive, high-end art gallery of liquid masterpieces. Cocktails with branded cubes, top tier alcohol and other ingredients from around the globe make for a worthy piece of drinkable art. It doesn't end with cocktails! The mocktails are equally as beautiful and delicious. I highly recommend the cocktails and mocktails. Service is exactly what you would expect and want it to be in this environment. Yes, the prices are a bit higher than average but you're paying for art, atmosphere, and experience that is beyond wonderful.

It was standing room only at the bar, but not overcrowded by any means. There is a dress code, but it's not entirely clear what it is. Some guy dressed to the 9s got turned away for not having sleeves whereas I got in with sneakers and a t-shirt. The bartender claimed I was drunk and cut me off anyway. I was at the bar talking to a girl while waiting to get a drink (the wait was long because the service is very slow, despite the bar not being very busy at all). She was clearly into me, and the bartender kept jumping in trying to talk to her too (instead of doing his job making drinks). He was doing all sorts of things to try and flirt with her and make her laugh: pulling out and showing her buckets of pre mixed cocktails, running and sliding under the bar, etc. She was engaging with both of us , and right in the middle of that, I get cut off out of nowhere. No explanation other than claiming I looked drunk, which I very clearly wasn't. It felt very clear what was going on--he wanted me out of the way. I left and asked the bouncer on my way out if I seemed drunk. This was literally two minutes later. He said no, not at all, and asked me why I would even ask that. I then told him exactly what happened and asked him to let the owner or whoever was in charge know about this extremely unprofessional conduct so they can discipline the bartender. His response was that the bartender has discretion to cut anyone off, and let me know the bartender is supposedly married so he couldn't have been flirting with any of the customers. Well, sounds like his logic is flawed--not only COULD he flirt with his customers, he WAS, and was therefore cheating. I hope his wife finds out.
