They are consistent and I love that they take such good care of the dogs and allow them to roam free in the back with them while they work. We are so fortunate to have Laundry Mutt in our neighborhood. What a treat. Our dog (a Havanese) had been treated poorly on repeated occasions at another groomer. I didn't realize what was happening until I realized that he would shake any time he saw a comb or brush -- literally, shake! I tried other groomers after that, and they just would shave him because they could tell how traumatized and scared he was -- they didn't want to make it worse by brushing out his coat. All that changed when we went to Laundry Mutt. It has a laid back vibe, and a great energy. Dogs are not in cages. And, remarkably, the dogs are so much quieter than the places where they have all the dogs caged up! Our dog is no longer afraid of being groomed. And, he looks fantastic -- they take the time to brush him out and give him a cute cut. Recommend highly! read more

Cooper spends time at the spa - its like a play date all day. I don't have much luck with their online appointment system but that hasn't been a problem otherwise. I have had my dog groomed by Melissa since moving to Evanston. I've followed her all over until she opened The Laundry Mutt. I love the attention Melissa gives my dog. He always comes home looking & smelling great! He was sprayed by a skunk recently and Melissa took him in to clean him up without having an appointment. My Standard Poodle is 8 years old. We've taken him to a number of groomers on the North Shore but once we found Melissa we were hooked. We have followed her from other locations and are thrilled that she has opened her own shop. She does a great job with our dog and he is always cut to perfection. When we were new dog owners, I tried another place in Wilmette that was terrible. They shaved our puppy because they couldn't be bothered to spend the time grooming her correctly. Then I found Melissa. I've followed Melissa for years from 2 other locations. She is now the owner of her own business, a dream of hers for years. She provides great service for our sweet Sadie. Sadie is always ready on time and looks great. Melissa is good at asking me if I would like anything different. I wouldn't trust Sadie's grooming to anyone else. read more

She and her employees are always friendly and wonderful with my little, nervous terrier. When he was skunked they managed to get that horrible smell off of him with one grooming session. I hate to be the first bad review on this place, but this is my experience. I made an appointment on-line which is super convenient. I brought my goldendoodle in for a fluff and dry on a Saturday. When I walked in, the owner and another woman were sitting on the couch talking, and the owner barely greeted us. The young man behind the counter asked me to fill out some information, and the owner finally got up and petted my dog, then came behind her and picked her up to look for matting, which kind of freaked my dog out a little. You need to take a few minutes to approach a dog and get to know them. She never took the time to do that, nor did she take the time to talk with me to go over services and ask about my dog's personality, etc. I expected a 'warm and fuzzy greeting" for my warm and fuzzy pet. It was anything but. When I returned to pick her up, it was pretty much the same, not very friendly, just going over the pricing. Never said how my dog behaved or how she did. Its a shame, because they really did a great job on her, but the customer service is so disappointing. I was completely underwhelmed and not sure if I will return. read more

This is a bit overdue, but as I am making another appointment today, I wanted to post a review. This was the best grooming experience I have ever had. I couldn't have been more impressed with the hair cuts themselves, but also the customer service. I have two little dogs, one who has some medical issues that have made me very nervous about ever dropping him off anywhere, and I was very touched by not only how happy my boys were when I picked them up, but also how much the people there seem to generally care and connect with my pups. It's clear that everyone at The Laundrymutt loves dogs, which sadly doesn't seem to be a given with every other grooming place. It felt like a personal service, not a "job" to them. I am just so happy and relieved that I found this place. I feel my boys are safe and happy there, and the peace of mind is worth any price (even though their prices are great!). Our nonstop shopping for groomers is over. We wouldn't think of going anywhere else. read more
