Anytime we've ordered dhal in the past, it's been a very thick stew loaded with lentils. This was practically soup. It went well with the Lamb Biryani we ordered, at least. The rice soaked up all that liquid quite well, for sure. And the biryani itself is decent. It's loaded with tender pieces of lamb, and the flavors are quite good. The dish was a little soggier than I would've expected, though. The highlight wound up being the Vegetable Samosas ("Flaky pastry stuffed with Potato & Peas"), as they tasted very fresh and packed with delicious components. The included sauces enhanced them, too. For a rainy night in, Roti Palace of India didn't disappoint. But I wish the dhal had been closer in spirit to what I assume the traditional version is supposed to be.

We were tempted by a bunch of stuff on the menu, but we finally decided to go with the Dal Makhani and the Mutter Paneer. We also grabbed an order of Tandoori Roti and got that buttered. The food arrived a little while later and really hit the spot. Both dishes were exactly what we were craving and absolutely packed with flavor. I really enjoyed both concoctions but I'll give a slight edge to the Mutter Paneer, which was loaded with delicious pieces of fried paneer and was spiced just right. (Would it have been nice if the meal had included rice? Of course, but we already had some made so it wasn't a huge deal.) I think Curry and Chutney might just be our new go-to spot for Indian food.

Servers/waitresses very nice and friendly. They brought over kid sized utensils without us asking. We didn't ask also because we tend to bring our own for the kids. Banchan was limited, only kimchi, pickled daikon and carrots, and potato. But unfortunately later on in the night i started getting quite thirsty so that's usually a sign of MSG. Personal issue as i tend to be more sensitive to MSG than others. Next morning woke up with swollen fingers and face as well due to the MSG. So if you are sensitive, you might want to avoid Insadong.
