So there I was waiting in line at the College Park Taco Bell (don't judge me) and I see this Indian place next door. The TB/KFC line was barely moving, and as much as I wanted a crunchwrap supreme I only had limited time, so I walked over. Reader, this was the smartest decision I have made all year. BHKRoll is my new favourite downtown lunch spot. This was, hands down, the best Indian food I've had this year - and let me tell you, I've had a lot. BHK has a totally open kitchen so after I ordered I was shocked that my chicken roll was prepared from scratch right in front of me, with clearly much fresher ingredients than I expected. And I've never seen a samosa plated with such care - sprinkled with amchur even! - at the COLLEGE PARK FOOD COURT. What is happening!? As for the flavour, I'm honestly blown away. It was so good, and way better quality than it had any right to be. And despite all this quality, and despite all this care, NO TIP PROMPT. 17 bucks, all in - a total steal for a lunch meal of this quality downtown. I am coming back ASAP, and will update this review as I try new things. In the meantime, I cannot recommend this place highly enough. A total gem.

I have a different spin on Brookfield Place. I used to work there. I worked for a major Canadian…read morebank for roughly seven months. This bank has offices scattered throughout the downtown core. We occupied the ninth floor. I loved the location. I'd take the GO train from Markham down to Union Station, and take the PATH briefly to Brookfield Place. There are a bunch of elevators that don't all go up to the same floors. You need to find the floor interval that suits where you want to go. If you are a visitor, Brookfield Place is beautiful. I remember taking a couple of Swedish colleagues to a Toronto Maple Leafs game and we passed by my old workplace. The Hockey Hall of Fame is located in Brookfield Place. I suggested that they go, as they were huge hockey fans like I am. They went the following day and absolutely loved it. My love for Starbucks is due to working at Brookfield Place. I'd drop downstairs to get a drink and take a breather. It's convenient to do a bit of shopping or grab a bite to eat. There's a food court where there are many fast food eateries. I'm sure they have changed since I was last there. There is also a Longo's Market. I'd often get cubed fruit, such as watermelon and cantaloupe, that was easy to eat at my desk to keep me content throughout the afternoon. There used to be a Marche, where you can choose from sandwiches and hot meals. I don't think it's there anymore, but it was awesome. The top floor is where you get to see the high glass ceiling and gorgeous architecture. I didn't appreciate it when I worked here because it was a fairly crazy time in my life working full-time and doing a master's degree part-time. However, when I have returned as a visitor, be it during Nuit Blanche or when I'm heading to Scotiabank Arena, I appreciate how beautiful the crystal cathedral of commerce is. My favourite memory will always be lining up with a few colleagues to get a free heart rate monitor on the first floor of Brookfield Place. We enjoyed missing a bit of work, chatting with one other, and getting a health gift in return. I gave mine to my parents and they still use it to this day. I miss Brookfield Place and the various giveaways that take place. I don't miss the job that I had or the stress that I had experienced. Luckily, I do get to drop by whenever I'm attending a concert. This is also connected to the underground path network which has a few connections to the main walkways. transit options are union ttc subway station and the 504 king streetcar (both the A and B versions, in both directions) , both options come with a bit of a walk, as this is down on college away from both the station and the surface stop. parking is in the area, but it would be above or below private lots with a bit of a walk. love coming here, even if its random, or out of the blue.

You can enter and exit this eatery to get to the mall. I used to take Cantonese classes as a teen a block away. Afterwards, I had the option of hanging around this mall and then heading home by streetcars, or I'd go nuts and walk all the way down to Eaton Centre, hang around, and then go home. I loved malls back then. I can't say that I feel the same way these days. This mall is a shadow of itself, which is a shame. It used to be cool seeing vendors in the lobby. I got a sterling silver ring here when I was in grade 11. I still have it. Excellent quality. It still fits, too! Back then, bubble tea wasn't as popular as it is now. I did love getting iced pineapple drinks from a vendor in the basement. Sadly, it's gone, along with most of the food court down there. I saw two eateries in the basement that were left standing. The eateries are scattered on the ground, second, and fourth floors. Frankly, I don't know why the designers skipped naming the fourth floor the third floor. Chinese culture doesn't like the number four because it sounds like death when you say it out loud. Weird. The ground floor is the most interesting because it has the most stores. Sun Wah Bookstore has been kicking around for decades. It was nice seeing it again. Tung Tung Dan Quen King has bubble waffles and more. Sugar Marmalade is next to Juicy Dumpling, so you can stuff yourself with carbs and then go on a dessert high next door. There were a couple of Chinese herb stores, a pharmacy, a gift store, an optical store and more on the ground floor. It's such an eclectic, odd mix of stores. The second floor had six or seven businesses that were open. It was sad seeing half this floor vacant. There's a claw machine place called PaliPali Claw. I suck at claw games, so I didn't go in. Owl of Minerva, Clay Pot Rice, and Canteen are you eateries. I've never been to the fourth floor, There was a sign saying that Sky Dragon Chinese Restaurant is there. It's interesting that it's the only business up there. I hope that there's a rooftop patio or something up there, too. Forget hitting the washrooms here. They are gross. You're better off hitting the washrooms at Chinatown Centre where they are passable. It was nice to return, but the Dragon City that I loved as a teen is long gone. Instead, I embrace ice cream, bubble waffles, and dumplings. Here's to new memories! (341)

It would definitely be my last meal on earth for sure...but it would be impossible to pick which one. ;D This noodle soup came topped with loads of zha cai (chinese pickled veg), cilantro, green onions, stir-fried ground meat and freshly chopped tomatoes. The balance of flavour in these soups are hard to beat as you get all the flavours in one satisfying bite/slurp. The lamb bits in the soup were not fall off the bone tender but who cares! With the rest of the soup being so good, I didn't mind gnawing on the bone a little while longer to savour this noodle soup. I will try one of their other noodle soups next time we dine in!

I'm surprised their baked rice is only $8.99 and it's fried rice too whereas other places charge at least $11 and up. They don't even charge you for cold drinks. It's definitely a steal! No where else beats the prices here. There are a great variety of dishes to choose from. They also offer party trays starting from $35 - $70 depending on size. I ordered a baked tomato sauce w/ chicken steak on fried rice. Portion is decent. It tasted like what you would be getting from a full service restaurant. The service was great. This is usually one of the places we like to get food from when we're in the area. Very affordable.
