The staff are very knowledgeable of the kava and kratom which is helpful when deciding what to drink. It's a unique alternative to a bar/coffee shop with good seating for gathering or working solo. Kava bars are pretty rare (even in large cities) so I was pretty stoked to find one while passing through Tucson. This place is really laid back and has a very comfortable vibe. You can sit at the bar or lounge and read books or play board games. There is a large menu with a few different options. Kava, kratom, or a mix of both. They are both plants with mildly euphoric properties. Research them in advance or ask the owner to explain. They also serve straight up kava although it's not the most pleasant tasting beverage (hence the need for cocktails). I tried a couple different cocktails and enjoyed them. Friendly service from the owner. Parking in the front. I recommend scoping this place out, especially if this is new to you. It's somewhere between a cafe/smoothie bar and a boozy bar. You're feeling some effects (beyond mere caffeine) but you avoid all the chaos of consuming alcohol. Great for teetotalers like me but can be an interesting experience for anyone. read more

Love Kava. I am so happy there is a Kava bar in town. I love the variety of drinks available and the space is offers a few seating options from more desk and tables for work to couches to chill out on. Often there is events such as live music, dance nights or comedians. If you have not tried Kava, it's a great alternative to alcohol. The staff are well educated, specifically the owners who are really good people. If you visit, I'd recommend the Kava Guava or the Koolada for starters. I cannot stress enough how excited I am for this place to exist! The Kava Bar is unlike any place in Tucson. I won't go into great detail about what Kava is, because I feel the owners do a much better job of that; however, keep in mind that this "bar" doesn't actually serve alcohol. Kava is definitely an acquired taste, so I would recommend one of the Kava cocktails if you're not accustomed to pure kava. My husband could not be more stoked to have a local place to get kava. He loves coming here to purchase Vanawatu Kava and Fiji Waka Kava. He likes kava for it's relaxing, sleep promoting, stress reducing effects. I personally am excited about their kava kocktails. I appreciate the feel of a cocktail without the alcohol. My personal favorite is the Kanela Kocktail because of the guava concentrate. I also really like the koolada, which is blended with coconut milk. Very cool that a kava space has inhabited Tucson. Customer service: Out of this world, able to handle ol' goats :) Been drinking kava for over 15 years - the only time I have ill effects from it, is when I run into a batch of tudei. So, that's my anxiety whenever I visit a new kava establishment. However, the special was well worth it. Extremely high quality, no ill effects. I've been to several Kava bars on the East Coast. This one has by far the best assortment of drinks that I have ever seen - very innovative flavor combinations. I primarily drink kratom, as kava bothers my stomach usually, but I was able to drink several kava cocktails - very tasty. The kratom cocktails were awesome too. I love the layout, as well - several places to spread out and work, a big bar to socialize.. also half of the bar is relatively darker and cozy and the other side is brighter / more light (if you need to do some work).
