So make sure you open your donut box and check you got the right ones. Taste: A bit pricey and the sizes are small but the taste is amazing, except the chocolate sprinkle ones which no one wanted. My daughter and I were out finishing our Christmas shopping. I wanted a couple custard filled donuts which are hard to find. Most donut shops serve "jelly" donuts. So I Googled donut shops near me, we were in Pleasanton, on there Google ad I though I saw the custard powder sugar donuts that I was looking for in their pictures. We go every few weeks - when we have friends over for brunch, when we want to celebrate a good soccer game, or just because on some days there is nothing better for the soul than sinking one's teeth into a perfect donut! Since I knew I would be in the area, I scoped this place out for its rave reviews and got one dozen with half normal and half of their fancy donuts including plain glazed, sprinkle donuts, sugar coated, custard-filled, cinnamon roll, apple fritter, and jelly-filled varieties. I was in the area and wanted to try a new donut place and came upon this one. I love that their donuts were fluffy and big. You can also get your donuts filled and that's what I did. I got my 4 caramel glazed long johns filled with custard cream and boy it was one of the good ones I had. I also got me some chocolate glazed donuts. The sweetness was on point, not too sweet that you can make yourself sick but sweet enough that you can finish 2 in one sitting (of course with a cup of coffee). I've had this bookmarked on my list cuz of its high 4.5 star rating. I got my typical fave, glazed twist and an Apple fritter. I could taste the oil and fried-ness of the donuts and personally that's not my preferred taste when eating my donuts. I like a light yet thick fluffy doughnut. Later I tried the Apple fritter and again could taste the oil and fried batter. There wasn't much cinnamon or apples inside. I did end up throwing the rest away because I had to cut my losses of calories vs enjoyment. From the wise words of my bf - "Was the juice worth the bite?" Doughnut have to be made a certain way for me to enjoy them! These do not disappoint I enjoyed these donuts twice while I was in Dublin and both times I thought they were super delicious. For me if you doughnut is cooked and I can taste the grease on the top of my mouth that classifies it as disgusting. These were perfectly cooked myself and my classmates enjoyed them. Every two years, I have to recertify my Advanced First Aid and CPR credentials. This means I stress over performing essentially the same skills I've certified for over the last 37 years. What better way to relieve my anxiety than to bring some donuts into class? On my way in, I checked Yelp to see who made decent donuts in the Pleasanton/Dublin area. The Jelly Donut seems to have its shares of fans and positive ratings so that's where I went. Two people working the front counter and at least one more frying more donuts in the back. The two worked efficiently and independently. There was a small but constant line of customers waiting to order or pick-up an order. I ordered 1-1/2 dozen assorted with 6 Jelly's and the rest assorted. I guess I haven't bought donuts in awhile because I was surprised to see that plain cake donuts were $16 a dozen. My 18 cost $34 plus the tip I put in the tip jar. The donuts were very fresh and flavorul. I had 1/2 Cruller and 1/2 Jelly Donut. Both were pillowy and delicious. I ended up with powdered sugar all over my dark blue t-shirt and a bit of a sugar rush that helped me plow through the day. The only disappointment is one that comes from greed. What? The donuts are fresh and they had a great selection for it being so late in the morning but the woman who helped me seemed a little out of it. As I was selecting donuts I was counting on my fingers, at some point she changed the box to a bigger one. It wasn't till I got home that I realized she didn't transfer over my first 5 or 6 selections into the new box. What a cute donut shop in Pleasanton! I live about half a mile away so I just walked here on a Friday morning. There were a couple customers in front of me which gave me the chance to take a look at their donuts. They do have a $5 minimum spend for credit card charges, otherwise it's cash or 50 cents additional charge. As for the donuts, they have pretty much all the typical donuts - powder, glazed, donut holes, chocolate, sprinkles, etc. I got their blueberry, glazed, and chocolate donuts and boy were they yummy!
