I was in town to check out the buffet at the casino. I was hesitant based on reviews but I found this a pleasant hotel. The room was spacious and clean. The TV,cable and internet was good. Sorry but i didn't check out the breakfast, i had other plans but I would totally do this place again. Give it a chance if in the area. read more

I've stayed here a couple times and some rooms are different than others but this time that I stayed in room 208 is a very comfortable room and it has carpet which I do not like the rooms without carpet. They have coffee in the room and this room is clean. The only complaint that I do have is staff isn't so friendly or welcoming which really sucks! A smile and friendly attitude is usually expected when you're the owner. Try smiling some and being nicer! read more

I wish I could give this dump and the Rude man at the office no stars... How can you run a business like this ? Can't figure if it's cultural ( middle eastern ) or he's just a crabby clown ? Rude, is just RUDE ! Btw I didn't get passed the front desk, he only opened the front door 2" to talk to me and it's only 8:30 pm. they charge $15 extra for the service dog ... I knew it could only get worse from here most reviews reinforce the hospitality here.. read more

Pictures on yelp are very deceiving keep in mind they have cabins for rent here. Even though the rooms are big. they take pets for a 15 dollar deposit I agree this is fair. but only if the deposit went towards cleaning the rooms they obviously do not. I had to stay in jackson recently thought I was only going to stay one night so I checked out in the a.m. I ended up to tired after working that day and needed another room. He tried to charge me 20 extra dollar. When I kindly asked for the previous nights rate of 75 dollar plus 10 percent tax he agreed to give it to me if I paid the pet deposit of 15 dollars in cash. So I did. The first night the room carpet was sticky and there was a yellow baby throw up looking stain on the windowsill. The property is beautiful and relaxing especially if you have been working hard all day. The sign saying if you get caught with a pet and don't pay the fee they have the right to charge you a 125 dollar fee for dishonesty I think is ruder then someone sneaking a pet in. The holes in carpet are mended by duck tape. Also all the rooms are marked with a no smoking and no pet sign at the door of each room but they allow pets for 15 dollar fee and I've stayed in two rooms now and both had the signs ,you can see them at every door. They let my dog in so becareful if you have pet allergies ...buyer beware! So me giving them a 3 star is really good for them. Staff friendly. No A.D.A acess to the office sorry people in wheelchairs. I might check out the jackson best Western next time. read more

3.5! It was a clean, quiet hotel. That is 1/2 the battle right? Our room was large, how large was it? It was so large that the 20inch tv that was across the room was too small to really see and i have great vision. It was not the nicest place but we used it for what we needed to (get your mind out of the gutter people!) changing, sleep, relaxing. It was functional. Location was right as you enter town which was cool since the wedding was in Sutter Creek. Price was like 89 bucks including tax, king size bed. If i come up here again, I would have no problem staying here again. read more

My sister and her husband got evacuated during the caldor fire , in September 2021, I called this hotel, they were great at accommodating evacuees with animals, when my sister and her husband got there they needed a downstairs room and two beds ,the owner accommodated them in every way ,they went as far as letting them have a refrigerator that was by the pool, my sister and her husband were so appreciative and every time one of the staff or the owner saw my sister or husband they would stop and ask if they needed anything?or if they were OK ? they were genuinely concerned about them. My sister was at another hotel and left it to come to this one ,she said it was the best decision she had made considering when you're displaced out of your home and you're in stress mode to live somewhere else other than your home, she was so grateful for this place, And their two cars were parked right in front of their hotel room which makes it easy to come and go, the stores & restaurants were super close, that's a big deal when you don't have a home and you need some thing, you can just go five minutes either direction and get what you need, My sis her husband & I wanted to give them a five star Lol, I can keep going , one more thing ,My sister would text me that the pool was so nice & it was a salt water pool and lots of chairs everywhere, ashtrays for people who smoked she said it was just very well set up, So again THANK -YOU for being there and accommodating all their needs, read more

We booked through an online service that sang praises to the heavens about this hotel, and the pictures looked fantastic. When we got there the rooms were old, and the air conditioners were rusting in the windows. The yard was filthy, and the maid who was cleaning let us peek into the cabin we were supposed to have. Yuck. We left and went to the Holiday Inn down the street. The next day, I get a call at the Holiday Inn from the owner, who had called every other hotel in town to track me down and scream at me for not staying at his filthy hotel! I'm still disputing the charges. read more

This place did the trick, but after I read the review that said there were bed bugs I was terrified and searched my mattress up and down for the bugs. No bugs. The room was clean, but very out dated. I was happy to see they had cable tv and wifi which was nice, but a better tv would have been good too. The mattress was obviously old, and I felt like I could feel each one of the springs each time I rolled over. When I got checked in I took a dump - I had been driving all day - and the toilet clogged right away. I am very conscious about clogging toilets as I have a low flush toilet at home so I am convinced that I would have clogged it even if I had just peed. Overall I would say that the nightly rate is a little expensive for what you get. Oh, and don't be fooled by the picture that has hardwood floors. Mine had blue carpeting. read more

Won't be back. Made our reservation on the phone directly to them, specifically said we will be arriving with a boat. Will there be room to park it? We were told absolutely, no problem. We arrived and this parking lot is TINY. And packed. Where they wanted us to park was a loop that we couldn't pull around in because other trucks were parked along the side. The owner was irritated at US for the hassle and even said to me 3 times that this wouldn't be a problem if my boyfriend knew how to drive and that he needs to learn how to pull a trailer. (My boyfriend is a professional bass fisherman and has been for 20 years) So rude. He finally just said "well I'm busy, figure it out" and stormed off. The reason we asked when making the reservation was to AVOID this hassle. But they had no problem taking our money that's for sure. read more

I found The Jackson Lodge while I was an evacuee from the Caldor Fire of 2021. With 2 pets in my car, I originally headed for Tahoe and spent 6 miserable days in the overpriced dumps they call motels there. When the smoke got too bad and before the roads closed, I decided to drive west underneath the fire and back towards my home. This sweet spot turned out to be the saving grace of my time as an evacuee. I booked the room directly on their website (cheaper). I also called the manager just to make sure that there would be no problem with my pets. He was very nice and accommodating and I booked a five day stay. After just one night in the room, I went to the office and booked another 5 day stay (10 days total). The room was immaculate. It appears to have been newly renovated. The bathroom was spotless and also looked newly renovated. There was a couch (futon) and a desk in addition to my queen bed with side tables and lamps on each side. The bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows. Plugs everywhere which helped me charge my phone and computer. The room I stayed in had hardwood type flooring, polished to a sleek shine. A generous fridge and microwave helped keep my costs down while I stayed there. There were a lot of thoughtful touches outside as well. Chairs, benches and tables were placed directly outside the rooms. Ashtrays were distributed generously so smokers didn't have to huddle over a chimney receptacle in some far corner of the resort. I didn't think to pack a bathing suit when I evacuated, but I did wander over to the pool. The pool area was clean, had plenty of lounging chairs and tables and even towels. The water was very inviting. They also had a washer and dryer on the premises which helped me wash the wildfire smoke odor out of my clothes - quarters available at the office. Because I had pets in the room, I placed the "do not disturb" sign on my door. No matter, everytime the housekeepers saw me they asked me if I needed anything. Jeannie kept me well stocked in toilet paper, trash bags and other sundries. Everyone was so friendly there. If I ever find my way back in that direction as a tourist - this is where I will stay. Maybe I'll book one of their "Cottage" rooms which look really cute. Don't book on a website or app. Call the Lodge directly. They'll fix you up. Thanks to you all for making my very scary time away from home a little easier. read more

Stayed there last night. Do not recommend. Plugs wouldn't stay in sockets. Blankets thin as can be we were cold. Didn't realize air conditioner was also heater no instructions for anything. TV didn't work. Grout missing on bathroom floor with lots of crap in cracks. Coffee pot not even clean. read more

We stayed in one of the "king bed" rooms over new year's. It was spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable. The bedding and the towels were good. The innkeeper was a pleasant person and was attentive to what we asked for. The room had dual pane windows so it was not drafty, and looked out over a nice wooded area. For the low price, this place was a bargain. It had a microwave, a fridge and free continental breakfast and coffee. I would stay again. read more

Bottom line, you get what you pay for! I saw that the rooms were only $69 a night and my husband and I just wanted to go to the casino for one night, I went ahead and "splurged" and got their most expensive room "The Deluxe Cabin" for about $150 including tax. I wish I had just got a $69 room because it couldn't have been any worse than the deluxe cabin. Upon arrival the Owner was not polite, inviting, or welcoming at all. He acted almost as if I was a burden to him, just for trying to check in. I am a firm believer in customer service, and this man possesses none. The first thing I noticed upon entering the room was that it had a stale smell inside. The floors were grungy, there were some sort of white stains on the sofa couch. The kitchen sink did not drain. The shower had no water pressure at all. Everything seemed dingy and dirty and in need of updating. I did not visit the pool. If your going to stay here just get the $69 room, trust me! And also, they are not private cabins,it is a duplex that shares a wall with another cabin. The deluxe cabin does not have a nice view off the balcony. The plastic white chairs were really dirty as well. read more

I wish I had looked at reviews before our stay. I see that the same issues have persisted over the past several years with no apparent improvement, despite all the polite excuses from the "owner". This was the dirtiest room, most uncomfortable bed, and overall worst lodging experience we've ever had. I stay in hotels weekly for work, and we also travel a lot. We have stayed in a lot of quirky, dated places so we weren't expecting much more than clean and comfortable, which we definitely did not get. The bed was so hard, bouncy and uncomfortable. The bedding was thin and provided little warmth. The heater was super loud and screechy and woke us up every time it kicked on. There were chips, marks, and smudges of who knows what on practically every wall, especially in the bathroom. It was gross. We also found a half eaten cookie under the bed. This place could be really nice if some effort was put into refreshing it with new paint and furnishings, and doing a better job of cleaning. Other things to note: There was no security latch on the door so anyone with a master key could have entered at any time (literally EVERY hotel I have stayed in has a security latch). The lobby, with the nice cozy fireplace, was piled with boxes and old stacked chairs, and the fire wasn't lit on a cold night. They obviously don't want guests to hang out there. They need to stop making polite excuses and actually DO something about the issues that multiple guests have complained about. The website photos that make this look like a homey and inviting place are very misleading. I wouldn't come back unless they did a complete overhaul. Something is very wrong with the way this place is being run. read more

If you want drugs or a prostitute you've got the right place. If you want a clean motel at a fair price... go somewhere else. This is not the place for you. All night there was traffic in the unit above us. At one point someone was banging on the door. Seemed like over an hour. The sheets and towels had stains. The bathroom mirror was covered in toothpaste spit, which is a bio-hazard especially in this time of COVID-19. We stayed at this dump because we had a mandatory evacuation due to the Moccasin fire in Groveland CA. Most of the motel/hotels in the area were booked so this place was it. I would rather have slept in the truck. In the morning at check out my husband and I told the owner about our complaints. He was extremely rude and wanted to argue with us. He insulted us by handing us $5 bill. The total charge to us was $142.00 DO NOT STAY HERE. next we will contact credit card company read more

Nice big room, very friendly staff. We were pleasantly surprised at how spacious the room was. The bed was super comfy, a/c was nice and cool and pool was very refreshing. The place was quiet which was nice as it was a 'working' vacation. We saw that there were cabins as well and plan to try them in the future. The location was less than 5 minutes from old town Jackson and near many amenities. Felt safe, relaxing, and welcoming. Looking forward to going back soon. read more

We have never slept so well in any hotel. If you are looking for a quiet, and peaceful surroundings this is the place for you. Our room looked out onto a wooded area with trees and wild flowers. The room was large. We had a King bed, table chairs, mini refrigerator and microwave, and a desk. We could have used another light for the desk area. Impressed there were 3 pillows on the bed and 2 extra in the closet. The bathroom is small. We are seniors and it was fine for our needs. We will stay here again because it was so quiet. read more

We booked two nights here, but then we had to cancel our second night, and the owner help us with our cancellation. So we would not be changed for that next day . This is an okay place. The room was large, but very poorly lit. The room was somewhat clean, we opted not to use the uncleaned microwave. The bathroom could have used more cleaning...drip stains on the walls, faucet missing the plunger, etc. There is no smoking in the rooms, but each room has a table with an ashtray outside the room door. We had to close the window any time someone was outside smoking. The ashtrays weren't emptied...there were cigarettes and pepperoni slices left in the ashtray outside our room for 3 days. The area is very quiet, but the walls are thin. Once the neighbors finally turned off the television and finished their bathroom routines, it was very quiet. The back of the hotel faces a nice wooded area. Breakfast was bagels, cereal, packaged oatmeal and cut up pre-packaged pastries. The juice machine was not on for one of the mornings. Coffee was basic. The pool is not heated. read more

Stayed in a King Room... the bed was uncomfortable, the sheets pilled, the carpet was gross. Garbage. I have no idea how this hotel got good reviews. Here is the best way to put it. Ever had a hotel party in high school in one of those fleabag hotels? Yeah... My girlfriend was so grossed out when she dropped her sweater on the floor she wouldn't wear it after that. Just put it in a plastic bag. Slept in our clothes. I think that is a enough said. We stayed here last weekend for the jazz festival. We payed around $80 for hotel room (K) & put parents up in a cabin for $138. The place is very rustic & older but clean. The cabins are HUGE & have nice patios & kitchenette. Pool area is very nice. Continental breakfast-nothing special but nice to have. Owner very nice & e-mailed beforehand to welcome & after to ask for feedback. So I think they are trying very hard to update the place & have good customer service. I'd definitely stay here again. read more

The place looks ok the pool is clean and sparkling but it stopped there the carpet in the room was old and dirty. The A\C noisy and inadaquate. When we pulled back for bed the sheets had not been changed. They were wrinkled and blond and black short hairs were present. When we informed the front desk the guy cane and acted like it was a burden. He apologized but we felt like he was put out. Auto club needs to go back and pull their 2 A rating read more

DO NOT FALL FOR THEIR PICS! VERY INACCURATE! Old dirty furniture and rooms! Surprised the bathroom was clean. Free Wifi not available in rooms. Only near the pool area. Pool was Clean. Staff was very rude! They most definitely need to learn how to be more professional. Musty air and smell, they had to come spray the room with a can of air freshener. Windows did not lock. Felt very unsafe. WILL NOT STAY AGAIN! Strongly recommend that you look else where for a room. read more

This hotel will not get one star from me. I have a couple of close friends that called and asked for a room. Stayed here unexpectedly July 28, 2016 (main water pipe broke in Pioneer). I did not expect a fancy motel, but I did expect a bit of respect! The owner yelled at me in front of my two children... when I asked why he said he thought I was the lady who asked to have her room changed because her beds were too hard. He also mentioned that she was "drunk or something". He is very short tempered and rude, even to his wife when she was getting some pool towels for us. I have read the other reviews and agree that the place is in need of an update. Beds are broken down, old linen, and, cracks all over the walls. Their is one yelper, who says she hates YELP, has resorted to name calling for people voicing their opinion on this site. Just to be clear, the owner needs to learn to respect people and his business will prosper. read more

We've stayed here twice in the the last 2 months. First time we stayed here we were driving through town and came as a nice surprise. Quiet, clean, decent price. AAA discount. We were off the next day well rested. We reserved the same room for two nights the second time we stayed here to actually visit the town of Jackson and check out the history and old buildings. We like that the room was clean and roomy with frdige and microwave as well as a little coffee maker and couch. I believe this one was the Queen deluxe room. The outdoor swimming pool was well maintained and clean. I had lots of fun practicing my strokes and enjoying the sun. Pool goes from 3 ft, 5 ft and then 7 ft. and has a small really shallow pool area connected to the pool for little ones or if you just want to sit in it. Great Wi-fi too. Would stay here again when visiting Jackson. read more

We stayed here for 3 nights w/our children in a cabin. The place was older, but the owners took great pride in ownership to maintain the place. The pool was crystal clear. Our cabin was really spacious for the 4 of us plus there was a front & side sitting area. It was really nice having a full kitchen to eat as well.
