A very comfortable and quiet little cottage. Although, the bathroom was huge with a walk-in shower. There are no tvs in the cottages and the WiFi is a little dodgy. Cell phone reception isn't the best either. I think what I am getting at is that you can really disconnect when you say at La Honda Park. You are forced to communicate with your loved ones. The cottages are only equipped with a microwave. If you want to cook something more robust, there is a communal kitchen in the pool house. Believe me, it has everything you need. Also, there are bbqs in just about every common area. Aside from the beautiful grounds and comfortable accommodations, there is the barn. The barn is probably the best part about this place. It has a foosball table, a pool table, poker table, dart board, and a tv. The back doors slide open to a small seating area overlooking Angel Creek. I can't describe it. You just need to experience. The owner are Jenn and Barr. They were so nice. Once we checked in, they left us alone. In fact, they left the property. Besides my family, there was another family staying in the Main House. They were very nice and welcoming. I can't wait to go back and sit next to the creek and drink my morning coffee.

A gaggle of girlfriends rented three cottages here, as three of us were celebrating our 40th/41st birthdays. The perfect "home base" for staging an attack upon Murphys downtown shopping, dining and wine tasting establishments, or as a leap-off point for local hikes and the gorgeous Moaning and Mercer Caverns. Each cottage is appointed with a gas-fueled faux wood-stove fireplace (easy operation via thermostat), fridge, micro, coffee maker, basic silverware/plates/cups, wonderful showers (great for power-washing off the mud and sweat after a day of rappelling and spelunking!) and extremely comfortable queen beds. Each cottage has its own character, giving the feel of the kind of decor a favorite aunt might select for your family's personal mountain cabin. Extremely clean and comfortable! Hang out by the fire, or chill out on your own front porch overlooking the lawn and creek. Or... ...head over to The Barn, a communal recreation room appointed with an air-hockey table, pool table, kitchen area (including a wine fridge!) and big-screen satellite TV/sat radio. The Barn was recently remodeled, using reclaimed barnwood, corrugated metal (for the ceiling sub-roof) and a pretty brilliant wallcovering that looks like warm old plaster, but is actually recycled craft paper and some sort of natural varnish. Cool! Also, a few relics from the region's mining days. There are board games, darts, books and other stuff to keep the individual, family or small group entertained. There's a large swimming pool (unheated in winter) and a small wading pool adjacent to another community kitchen and outdoor picnic area, and the only thing this area lacks is a hot tub. (Hint, hint!) Finally, there's Cosmo, the biggest, sweetest cat you'll ever want to kidnap. He's not allowed in the cabins, but he'll happily keep you company as you read a book on the porch, or wander up to the beautiful waterfalls behind the barn. He'll also keep score if you want to use the bocce court or horseshoe pits! Parking is limited, so don't expect to haul in ATV trailers or your RVs, but that's about the only con to this wonderful little family-run resort!

Comfortable enough bed / pillow although would appreciate 1 more pillow per bed. Weekend / holiday small town so not many staying on a Mon night. So our donuts were cold and not fresh like other reviews stated. Possibly leftovers? No hot tub due to maintenance. Husband was really looking forward to it and would have been amazing after our hike. They did warn us though before we arrived. I would have loved a freshly baked one over the half a dozen provided. Oh yes, you have to make your own bed !

We stayed in a large room with updated interiors, modern electronics and great bathroom. The hotel had an updated exterior and lobby area with plenty of parking. This place is perfect for large groups or semi-medium events. Standout: Downstairs Finch Bar Breakfast We recommend and will be back.

We have seen this place get renovated a couple times now and the management is getting better and better with giving the people what they want. Although I do miss the pool towels being freely available by the pool area, there are plenty of better benefits added to compensate for that. Watching a movie while in the jacuzzi, the fun games around the office, and the cold snacks on some days are a nice touch. The renovated rooms are definitely the best part of coming to this place, the golf course nearby and the deer make it feel peaceful and quiet. We will continue to come to this place couple of times a year as long as it's maintained and keeps on improving.

It was just in me to write a review before leaving today From day one, we found ourselves having to ask for basic items that we normally expect to already be provided. There was no dish soap or hand soap when we arrived. On day two, we had to ask for coffee creamers, and we also had to request laundry detergent and no extra trash bags. It became a recurring theme throughout our stay -- constantly having to ask for things that we felt should have been available from the beginning. There was also a frustrating miscommunication with the sales/marketing team. The presentation was supposed to be for my folks, but there seemed to be a lack of verification regarding the names and who was actually supposed to participate. The sales approach was quite aggressive, and it could have been an embarrassing situation if we had shown up without realizing we didn't qualify. Fortunately, I double-checked with the concierge beforehand and was able to clear things up. The give aways are definitely eye catching but family time and peace of mind is priceless to me and my family. We are one of those that prefers quality time over business time As for the room, flies were definitely an issue. We expected to see some given the location, but there were quite a few around our room. And while eating at the patio, no courtesy to checking on 1st floor residence, there was a guy vacuuming above us with all the mess and leaves and dirt hitting our breakfast foods and us. I had to yell out to stop it. That said, there are definitely positives. The view is amazing. We had deer hanging out practically right on our patio, which was such a cool experience and probably one of the highlights of the stay. The resort also has a lot of amenities -- basketball, movies, pool tables, games, a coffee shop, swimming pools, and plenty for families to do. We were especially looking forward to the kids' pool because our 20-month-old daughter has recently become obsessed with swimming. The pool was warm and heated, which she absolutely loved. So, while there are some great things about WorldMark Angels Camp -- especially the beautiful surroundings, wildlife, and variety of amenities -- the service and the repeated need to request basic supplies really took away from the experience for us. I can't say enough wonderful things about the house, it is set up and decorated with such love and charm! We felt right at home; the kitchen was fully stocked, with lots of games, puzzles, movies to keep us entertained. Our two kids loved having their own bathroom and beds, which helped to keep sibling fighting to a minimum. The resort neighborhood is so beautiful, quiet, and peaceful, and each of the homes are so beautiful and well-maintained! We spent every day at the pool, which was 3 minutes away on foot. My husband and I also loved having access to the fitness center. The location also made it easy to take fun day trips to Yosemite, Murphys, Senora, and Arnold. We can't wait to go back to the Bret Harte Cottage, we've already recommended it to all of our friends!

What an amazing resort tucked up away in the mountains within Tuolumne County…read more I've lived up here most my life , my entire childhood , I never knew this place was here, lol. (they need someone on social media, i would think) But this resort is a gem away from daily routine of the normal daily life and great relax at the pool, nice swim , quick dip, or maybe a little relaxation in the hot tub. from the world as we know it. lol. The pool is the heart of this resort , it really is , but sooo worth it. A nice beautiful waterfall on one side , with a cascading waterfall on the other side. looks all Natural, including the ground, looks like sand, and rock. Its beautiful... The pool has a shallow end but gets deeper fast. Pool has a nice lip that goes to the deep end from the shallow, it's roughly 2-3 feet deep for this ledge / lip. Middle of the pool is roughly 5 foot. Deep end is 8 feet deep. The main building is cool , nice hang out for kids or teenagers. lol. The cabin we were at, evergreen 1a was inside the pool area. Nice if you want to be close to the pool, but I can imagine it being noisy in peak season, just FYI. The cabin was nice, a little smaller than I thought but not bad. Totally worth the stay , 1 king size bed, bathroom / shower, small kitchen / Sink, mini fridge, cabinets / already has a few plates as well drink ware... maybe next time I will upgrade to the next cabin? Who knows, nice to have extra space if staying a few days or more. This place is worth the stay, if you like pools / spas , nice views, staying within the mountains and wilderness, but not camping, away from the crowds and lots of people ( that being said I have no idea how full this place gets in peek season. ) You are also within driving distance to Pinecrest, SOnora, and Columbia State Park. The resort is on side of the mountains if im remember right, so you have a small glimpse of whats through the trees, so if you are looking for a view of a lake, or mountain side / Canyon view, you wont find it here, that being said the view is still nice, specially in spring. But I do have to say the stars are amazing at night... Nature is flat out amazing , It was nice to sit out front of our cabin, drinking coffee, and watching the sun come up through the trees, little light rays dancing through the trees... I really liked Our stay here, the pool IS AMAZING, Seemed well kept up, clear water/ no junk in the water or leaves... The cabin was decent, little Rustic feel, which is pretty cool. But did have its issues. SOME OF THE ISSUES I HAD ----- Few things that needed to be fixed in the cabin, bathroom door wouldnt shut, stays open 2 to 3 inchs... lol Tv had issues connecting, or some error with the box, idk, and remote had dead batteries, tv wouldnt turn on, then replaced the batteries = tv turned on, but cable box or something had issues so couldnt really watch much, just a few channels, ( took batteries out of a gaming controller i had packed away in my bag, thus the batteries, lol ) I do feel like its Lacking something, and could have ALOT MORE potential. -- I think it would also have been nice to have some of the following, -- * Place seems a little dead, where are the staff? the office was evenm unstaffed , just had a sign list of names, and cabins, and a Map. Yoiu look for your name, and theres your cabin and your all set for your stay! ;-) The bar at the pool was unstaffed as well. * Maybe towels by the pool, not sure if its a resort, make it feel like a 5 star resort, in the mountains , so how cool is that, but again kinda lacking... * Maybe some social media, I feel like thats lacking as well... discounts in off season?? would be nice, ;-) * Staff the office on weekends? Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. We stayed in Room 14, which was advertised as having a queen bed, but it was actually a full-size bed. The room itself was very small, and while it contained beautiful antique furnishings, it felt neglected rather than charming. The window air conditioner was outdated and awkwardly installed, the shower barely drained, the toilet paper holder had been poorly glued back onto the wall, and the towel bar repeatedly fell off. The old wall heater also appeared outdated enough to raise safety concerns. Outside, the disappointment continued. The swimming pool was green, the grounds felt unkempt, and the property overall looked dirty and cluttered. Instead of feeling like a treasured historic inn, it felt like a place that has been left to slowly deteriorate. What makes this especially sad is the incredible potential this property still has. After returning to our room, I looked into the history of the Gunn House and found photos and information from the previous owners. It was evident they had intentionally preserved the hotel's historic character and created a warm, inviting atmosphere. Since the ownership changed around 2017, it appears that only the bare minimum has been done to maintain the property. Many of the photos currently used online seem to reflect the inn during its better years rather than its present condition. The Gunn House deserves better. It is a historic treasure with rich Gold Rush heritage, and it should be restored by owners who are passionate about preserving its legacy. With proper investment, thoughtful restoration, and professionals experienced in historic properties, this inn could once again become one of Sonora's crown jewels. Instead, it currently feels like a neglected landmark waiting for someone to bring it back to life. I genuinely hope that happens one day, because beneath the grime and deferred maintenance, you can still see glimpses of the beautiful hotel the Gunn House once was.

Motel is within walking distance to a market and close to the cute local park with a stream for the kiddos to play in, but it's on a busy street so I didn't feel comfortable making the trek on foot.

The floor was nasty with stains, and one of the beds had some red stuff on the skirt that appeared to be blood. I was told this was oil. Hmmm, why?! Everything in the room was similar and could use a refresh. The bed was decently comfortable and the pillows were middle of the road, being firm and thin. Would I stay here again...probably not. I think I'd look for other options in Angels Camp or beyond.
