Locally owned and manged by kind professionals. Stay a couple times and they remember you - in the good way. We've stayed quite a few times in different cabins. The Aspen is our favorite - this week. There is a sense of friendly community and warmth on the property. Cozy cabin decor. Each cabin is unique; no cookie cutter here. These are mountain cabins you wished were your own. PS - Santa himself lives in the propwr

Birch room. First time here.

I really loved this place. Love the old charm. We stayed in Feb in the Birch for a few days. Off season so it was quiet during the week, we were the only ones there on Sun/mon, except sat nite. No snow on ground as February was very warm. We did go up to Dodge Ridge and XC ski/snowshoe. Only 10 min from Sonora, where we have friends, and 30min from skiing. Our rental looked recently remodeled, although the couch was pretty bad. I believe they took some of the furnishings out a few weeks ago and redid the yard around it since we stayed there, according to their fb page. So maybe next time it will be nicer. I'm sure newer reviewers will post something. I think we would like a cabin not connected to another, as on saturday night, banging and pipes(water) made noise all night long from the ppl next to us. Plus people that stayed there before us had a dog, and didn't clean up poop in front of our cabin/tree near driveway, almost stepped in it. Or it could of been a neighbor dog. Idk Owner of property didn't pick it up for over a day after we mentioned it. These are why the deduction of stars. I'm sure we'll come back again. These were just minor things. The prices are excellent too and they do NOT fluctuate from weekend- weekday always the same $99- $130 a night depending on which cabin you want. Close to everything. Check out the cute, mtn town coffee shop in town too. Caffè Blossom. Reminds me of where we lived in the SC mtns. We loved it.

Went to The Gables Cedar Creek Inn last weekend. I called them up around 10pm on a Friday night and spoke with Cameron. He picked up the phone right away...booked us super awesome night at "The hideaway." Loved the cabin, love Cameron and Kasey! Can't wait to go back.

Such a pretty setting for a wedding!

It's obvious to me that they take it seriously too! The room had a pod coffee maker, mini fridge, microwave, and free bottles of water. Comfortable beds and cotton (breathable) sheets. Breakfast had cheese omelettes, French toast-sticks, cereal, juice & fresh fruit. All tasty! The location is close to the freeway, but tucked away on a side street that is private. Because of that, it's much more quiet than the hotels along the Main Street in Sonora (15 minutes away). It is an hour and a half to Hetch Hetchy Dam, 15 minutes to Culver's Apple Farm in Tuolumne City, 8 minutes to Columbia and 3 miles from the BESTsourdough bread you EVER ate, from Two Acre Farms! Fantastic location. If I had 10 thumbs, I would hold them ALL up for this hotel! Truly a great stay!

It is up in the mountains which is a nice and relaxing drive. While I can't comment on the actual lodge since we did not stay, I can comment on how awesome the skating rink is. The owner has been working the skating rink for 45 years! The skating rink is indoors and massive! The have a small office inside where you sign waivers, pay and get your skates. They offer what I like to call "walkers" for the less experienced skaters for an additional $5. The skating fee is $15 plus $5 for skates per person, but there is no time limit on how long you can stay. There is also an indoor seating area that is warmer where you can people watch, but they also have another big area with tables and chairs. We were very impressed with this place and the staff! We'll be back during New Years and plan to visit again! Dress warm if you visit - it is very cold indoors!

It is a smaller rink, but perfect for beginners, or spending the afternoon with the kids. This was the first time I been on the ice since I was 10 and it is much harder than I remembered. It was my boyfriends first time ice skating and he got the hang of it pretty quickly. The kids enjoyed it - the youngest in our party had just turned 3 and he was killing it - doing better than most of us. The cost is minimal $20/person and that includes skate rentals. You can also rent the skate helpers for the kids or the adults who are learning. I ended up using one for a while as it was much more difficult to glide on the ice than I remembered. The kids had so much fun, even asking when we could come back or if they can take ice skating classes. We plan on returning before they close for the season.

Special callout to Micaela and the events team, who are very experienced in executing weddings and made us feel welcome and supported throughout. The whole weekend felt like an elevated summer camp with all our best friends and family. Overall, Evergreen is a historic, gorgeous place to throw a wedding and we wholeheartedly recommend it!

That being said, the food was ok. The Burger at lunch was GREAT, the fries that came with it, absolutely STELLAR after a day of hiking. Breakfast was fine, average. No issues there. Dinner sucked. Our food came out cold multiple times and we were there for over 2 hours. We watched a couple arrive 15 min after us, get their food and leave well before us. We ordered the smoked salmon dip, it came out with a hot-ish edge and cold center- yuck. Had to send it back to be properly heated. Then our main dishes arrived cold. The mash potatoes with my braised short rib were room temp. The pasta was obviously sitting based on the dried up sauce. The pasta was also cold. We waitress tried to reassure (gaslight) that the food had just come out. We sent the food back to be properly heated. After being reheated, the food was fine. They did gave us the meal for free b/c of all the issues we experienced that night- which was kind. I have never experienced so many issues while at a restaurant or felt the need to send food back. I should have gotten another burger.

From the check in to the restaurant staff, all of it 1st rate! Opted for suite this time and it was so worth it! Super comfortable, the bed was cozy and perfect. Slept like a cat (cat ppl know what I mean). Rush Creek is especially great if you have small children. Lots of activities on the property plus there's a massive pool to cool off in or heck...do some zip lining. What kid doesn't like that? The restaurant on the property is still great! Plenty of options and the beer and wine selection (or boozier cocktails) are still a win. I recommend the bowl of chili! Overall, yeah it's a bit of a drive from the Yosemite valley if that's what you want to do...BUT... there is tons of stuff to explore on this side of the park as well. Staying at Rush Creek has allowed our family to visit new sites and trails that we'd probably not be motivated to see if staying in the valley. I can't recommend Rush Creek Lodge and spa enough!
