I arrived a bit earlier than check in time and they quickly checked to see if my room was ready and passed their COVID safety checks. They graciously allowed me to check in early so I could take a conference call. The room was very clean and in much better condition than I expected. It was comfortable and the heater worked great which was well needed in the middle of February. There was plenty of parking and it is super quiet in Twain Harte. They do have the vending and ice machines closed due to COVID so hit up the local convenience store if you need ice.

It is up in the mountains which is a nice and relaxing drive. While I can't comment on the actual lodge since we did not stay, I can comment on how awesome the skating rink is. The owner has been working the skating rink for 45 years! The skating rink is indoors and massive! The have a small office inside where you sign waivers, pay and get your skates. They offer what I like to call "walkers" for the less experienced skaters for an additional $5. The skating fee is $15 plus $5 for skates per person, but there is no time limit on how long you can stay. There is also an indoor seating area that is warmer where you can people watch, but they also have another big area with tables and chairs. We were very impressed with this place and the staff! We'll be back during New Years and plan to visit again! Dress warm if you visit - it is very cold indoors!

It is a smaller rink, but perfect for beginners, or spending the afternoon with the kids. This was the first time I been on the ice since I was 10 and it is much harder than I remembered. It was my boyfriends first time ice skating and he got the hang of it pretty quickly. The kids enjoyed it - the youngest in our party had just turned 3 and he was killing it - doing better than most of us. The cost is minimal $20/person and that includes skate rentals. You can also rent the skate helpers for the kids or the adults who are learning. I ended up using one for a while as it was much more difficult to glide on the ice than I remembered. The kids had so much fun, even asking when we could come back or if they can take ice skating classes. We plan on returning before they close for the season.

We pushed…read moreEvergreen outside their comfort zone, hosting 175 people for 4 days, leveraging multiple locations and all of their infrastructure to make something special, and they delivered excellently. - The kitchen was phenomenal, delivering multiple meals across various cuisines at exceptional quality and handling multiple dietary restrictions. - They have a great library of activities and materials, including yoga mats, disc golf, and even s'mores, to help round out the weekend with fun activities for guests. - We did notice that the front desk can struggle with more complicated room block logistics, so set aside some additional time to work with them on that. Special callout to Micaela and the events team, who are very experienced in executing weddings and made us feel welcome and supported throughout. The whole weekend felt like an elevated summer camp with all our best friends and family. Overall, Evergreen is a historic, gorgeous place to throw a wedding and we wholeheartedly recommend it!

We ordered the smoked salmon dip, it came out with a hot-ish edge and cold center- yuck. Had to send it back to be properly heated. Then our main dishes arrived cold. The mash potatoes with my braised short rib were room temp. The pasta was obviously sitting based on the dried up sauce. The pasta was also cold. We waitress tried to reassure (gaslight) that the food had just come out. We sent the food back to be properly heated. After being reheated, the food was fine. They did gave us the meal for free b/c of all the issues we experienced that night- which was kind. I have never experienced so many issues while at a restaurant or felt the need to send food back. I should have gotten another burger.

Slept like a cat (cat ppl know what I mean). Rush Creek is especially great if you have small children. Lots of activities on the property plus there's a massive pool to cool off in or heck...do some zip lining. What kid doesn't like that? The restaurant on the property is still great! Plenty of options and the beer and wine selection (or boozier cocktails) are still a win. I recommend the bowl of chili! Overall, yeah it's a bit of a drive from the Yosemite valley if that's what you want to do...BUT... there is tons of stuff to explore on this side of the park as well. Staying at Rush Creek has allowed our family to visit new sites and trails that we'd probably not be motivated to see if staying in the valley. I can't recommend Rush Creek Lodge and spa enough! We also had a board of Californua Cheese, the Smoked Wings, and the Crispy Cauliflower, which appears just like Firecracker Shrimp. I loved the Bison Chilli, but I got so stuffed afterward and had to oack my Fish n Chip to go. King Salson with bok chop and mushroom was great. Cicopini, which has several seafood with garlic bread sticks in tomato sauce was impressive. Mushroom Regu and Beet Sakad were delicioysly perfect for vegans Our servers were super friendly on a busy night. We were so glad to find this place on our trip to Yosemite.
