Came here with friends. It was a bit chilly since it's an open air eatery so we sat in back in a booth. (In spring/summer you would get warm sunshine sitting next to sidewalk near passersby). The food and tropical drinks are awesome. The drinks are served in tiki mugs - so adorable just like the islands! The decor is tropical & for a moment you would think you were in Oahu or Maui! read more

Service is excellent, food is fantastic! Playlist is perfect for feeling those Island vibes. Highly recommend the Mai Tai! read more

The brunch was absolutely the most delicious I've ever had in years! The combination of burger, sauce, mushrooms, perfectly cooked sunny side up egg and accompanying dinky donuts and coffee was unreal. Totally surprised me and made my day! read more

The food and ambiance were great but it took the server a long time just to bring us waters. We got our appetizers and it was hard to get her attention to remind her we asked for water. The restaurant wasn't very busy so there was no excuse. Other than that, the live music was great and I would definitely eat here again. read more

The day I visited was a slow day, and there were only 5 customers in the whole restaurant, yet my order was never taken. While, on the other hand, a group of 3 who were sat before us not only got their order taken but were served their food and drinks. We were given a menu and a cup of water, but the waitress never returned. We waited for 30 minutes before we decided to leave. A woman who was also the bartender was hanging out with a friend as if she wasn't on the clock and left the bar unattended. The staff there is not professional and lousy at their job. The restaurant needs employees who care to be there and take the job seriously. It's a shame this place is poorly run since I was originally excited to visit since the place seemed to have a laid-back environment with beachy vibes. Don't waste your time coming here. I'm never coming back to this place. read more

Decided to try it based on Yelp reviews. Seated right away at bar since I was by myself. Service was fast and attentive. Bartender rec Spam Misu to start (see photo). Surprisingly good even though sounded weird. Had garlic shrimp tacos also good. Shrimp not overdone and nice sauce. Has nice laid back vibe. Prices a little lower than neighboring restaurants. Would definitely return if I'm in the area again. read more

This is a hidden gem in Coronado! I found it by accident, and ended up going back, it was that good. Taylor is a treasure behind the bar, and makes a great mai tai! The poke tacos are perfect, and the pork sliders were some of the best I've ever had. All in all, this is a very refreshing take on an "island" bar as opposed to a tiki bar (and I love tiki bars). The music was perfect, and not so loud as to make it impossible to have a conversation. Their signature mai tai is delicious, and they've got a great selection of draught beer if you're just going in for lunch and a pint. If you're anywhere near Coronado, this is definitely a place to go! read more

Server- polite Manager- needs refresher on customer service - disrespectful and rude. Upper management needs to take a hard look at this. Great way to lose customers at more than one location Would have been 4 stars for food but zero on a single employee Drinks over priced read more

The wait was almost an hour. I don't know of they were short staffed in the back but alot of the waiters were in the backroom. We got our appetizers and drinks. The appetizer was ok. More wonton than poké. read more

What a great hangout in Coronado! Great looking bar restaurant with open windows. Beautiful place. We didn't get food only drinks which reasonably priced for the area. Both bartenders were super nice. Can't wait to go back! read more

Very bad service. Glasses dirty, girl waitress no knowledge about service. Took too long to ask for our orden.

Hostess was rude. Some lady cut us and then got taken in. Hostess saw and then told us 45 minute wait but took the next walk in party of 4... before she told us about the wait she ignored us everytime she came to the host stand and didn't reply for about 15 minutes when we had to approach first Only put a 1 bc it had to be atleast 1 star read more

The food was fantastic ! A shout out to the chef and the crispy chili tacos - so good !! The atmosphere of the restaurant was truly a vibe from the islands - loved it. Highly recommend read more

If I could give less than one star I would. Bad service horrible food why would advertise $5 breakfast sandwich at the to go but not let you order it in the restaurant. Won't be back ever. read more

Chill place to eat and hangout. Very affordable. Food is tasty . Ambiance is perfect to chill. Service is great.

Sara and Kirsten were absolutely amazing servers! We came in tonight and had Kirsten as our server and she was amazing but we honestly only came back because Sara was so nice to us the night before! The burgers are amazing and our entire party loved them! read more

First time eating here and we had a really nice lunch! We wanted to eat near the theater and this was perfect. Walked up with no reservation and were seated within 2 minutes. Their outdoor seating is well set up (really appreciated the umbrellas on a sunny day) and you can people and dog-watch. Our server was very friendly, attentive, and helped with some recommendations. I got the pineapple fried rice with Portuguese sausage (delicious and nicely presented) and hubby had the Kalua pork sandwich, which he liked. There were a lot of interesting things on the menu - would definitely come back! read more

Awesome place all around, amazing food and great cocktails. Great service too, and amazing views

WOW! Sat at the bar and enjoyed the bartender Taylor's company as she whipped me up a tasty cocktail! Ordered the poke bowl and it was SO GOOD! Tuna was fresh and tender. Amazing service with cool reggae vibes! LOVED! read more

Yum !!!!!! This new place is grrrrrreat , with an awesome happy hour ! I got the Kalua Pork Sliders which were very flavorful and also tried the volcano fries and and chili crunch chicken which comes with a very good chili sauce (get extra!) . The drinks are stiff and very delicious is fun shaped cups . Wish they played surf videos on the tvs instead of sports but it's got a nice friendly ambience . I'm going back to try more menu items . Bon Appetit or do I say Mahalo ! read more

Food- great! Wait time with hostess- terrible. On her phone, then a couple walked behind her and said "we're just gonna grab a seat" and she walks them to a table! I said hello, we've been standing here waiting our turn I asked for a table for 4 way before them at least 5 minutes ago! Then she takes us to our table, waitress instantly acts annoyed that we don't want drinks or appetizers at 9pm and are ready to order. We order 2 entrees and a kids meal. She never came back for new waters or to ask us anything and then when we caught her to give us some water, to go boxes & the check, you could tell she just wanted to hover over with checking the tip. Tipped, paid, got up to leave and she came back, set the receipt down and just stood there!! I made eye contact with her and said "thanks" she just looked at me and left! What in the world....never again. Who wants to pay $77 + for 2 meals, a kids meal and get treated like garbage?? The two stars are for the kitchen staff. Management, please read this. Waitress was taller, dark brown hair in long braids, sat down at 8:35pm Saturday July 6th at the back of the restaurant under 2 tvs. read more

Great place for a fair price! We came as a party of 6 with 2 children. They seated us quickly & the place was not too loud or too crowded. We ordered the kalua plate, the poki bowl, the pretzel & a burger plate. It was all great! I hate to compare, but I couldn't help thinking their poki bowl had alot more to it than the one at True Food Kitchen. More of everything & delicious too! This place is far more than the happy hour food that is advertised! Check it out! read more

The tacos here are beyond bland. We tried the beef, chili crunch chicken & garlic shrimp. I'm leaving here hungry thinking about the amount of calories we wasted. However, their drinks are great! read more

We arrived on Coronado Island on a Friday night and wandered down Orange St. We saw this cute place with tiki-like umbrellas and a surf-vibe. We figured, "why not"? I'm so glad we stopped in. It was early enough that not a lot of people were there and we picked a great seat under the umbrella outside and I asked for the heating element to be turned on. I had the Pineapple Fried Rice and it was delicious! Served on a scooped out pineapple half, it looked as appetizing as it tasted! Our server was patient and kind. As an added bonus there was some live music and this sweet little duo definitely had people listening! By the time we left, the place was packed. read more

We had a wonderful experience at The Islander. The host greeted us and made sure we were all seated comfortably. The food was delicious and our server was great too. It was like a visit to the tropics! read more

The decor felt like I was in a surfing club. The music is spot on with the vibe. The food, oh man I devoured my breakfast burrito like it was nothing. And the fries, oh they are as crisp and addictive as the McDonald's fries but like 1000000 times better. Our waitress was nice and she was always up beat. Service is just incredible here. So come down here whenever your on north island. read more

The atmosphere is great, but wow... the food is pretty overpriced. Don't order the PuPu Platter if you have any kind of an appetite. It's a two person minimum and they charge each person $14 ($28 total). But the kicker is, that gets you two rib sticks, two chicken wings, two egg rolls and two pork sliders. I could've eaten all of it myself with room to spare. But they require you to share this? Most of our party left the restaurant hungry. read more

Place is cute. Food was mediocre - service was way worse. Came out for my best friends birthday and the server seemed like she didn't know how to serve tables.. she just kept forgetting everything. If it was busy it would make sense. Do not order anything with rice here - they don't know how to make rice. It's very mushy. Service was so slow - we received our food and my best friend literally waited for almost an hour for her food (single appetizer) after we received all of our stuff.. read more

Solid new spot! I was a HUGE leroy's fan, so to see the burger on the menu was exciting. Saw many people ordering it! Burger was just as good as I remember. Fries do need a lot of work... Were very basic and not the same. Also, adding some sort of aoli on the side would be appreciated. Restaurant is sti going thru growing pains with product knowledge ect but as to be expected in a new restaurant. Overall, my party and I were happy! Advice: serve better french fries and add better side sauces (garlic aoli). Otherwise, 8/10! read more

Aaaamazing!! I can't even begin to tell you how happy my taste buds are right now. We had the cream cheese rangoon, and the ahi poke appetizers, beyond yum. Good food great service. Nice location. Coronado is a nice always a nice place to visit.

My husband and I have been here a couple times now and we love it! Came in to celebrate my sons birthday and everyone was extremely satisfied with their food and the ambiance. They were able to accommodate our big group in no time and our sever Carolina was attentive and very friendly, we have picky eaters and our server very kindly made note of everything. Drinks are delicious and came out fast as well as the food for such a big group. 10/10 would recommend, absolutely great service, amazing food and ambiance. read more

The food was very good, however the service was -1 star. We had reservations for our anniversary , they sat us at a table and we sat there watching waitstaff walk by us like we didn't exist, finally a guy named Dallas walked by and said " how is everything " well you could imagine we weren't happy. Well after getting the food which was good we thought because it was our anniversary we would have been comp'd desert like any other restaurant, well nope that didn't happen!! The ambience was nice and to top it off they weren't even busy so there's no excuse for poor service. We spend a lot of time in Coronado and this is not a place I will visit knowing I'm not important enough. read more

I was excited to try a new restaurant on the island. I wanted to really like this place but I can't. The service is terrible, the drinks tasted bad. I had a pina colada and it had a terrible chemical/fake taste to it. The food was so greasy ( don't get the chicken or the pork). I'd probably get better food at a bar than here sadly. The flavors are off way off to be claimed as Hawaiian. I won't be coming back here again. Save your money and go somewhere different read more
