Nice quaint atmosphere. Would make a great venue for a small wedding.

A beautiful hotel, with an even more beautiful garden. We had a king suite, which had a view of the…read moregarden. The room was very well appointed, nice features like a wet bar area, seating, separate TVs if one desired. Super comfy bed, great environmental controls (heat and a/c) were very quiet also. The bathroom was exceptional, most wonderful shower in North America. The breakfast was also darn good, lots of choices and very friendly service. In fact all the employees were very cheerful and welcoming, darn pleasant. But above all, and far so, is the Japanese garden attached to the hotel. It is worth the trip all on it's own. Spectacular for it's size, only an acre- centered around a gorgeous water feature of a huge koi pond, with many lovely spaces to just chill and appreciate the beauty of the garden.

Well it wasn't an expected stay here. It was an emergency since my front passenger tire blew on I-5…read moreon the way to California last night. And it happened just past Keizer. I was playing no games with the way the universe was talking to me yesterday. No thank you sir. We won't be driving anymore. Not going 50 on I5 for 7 hours. I pulled up hotels on Yelp, and this was the first choice. I thought OMG this has got to be expensive. Nope. Affordable. And VERY VERY nice. I'm INCREDIBLY picky and to say that this was super clean is a lot for me. It's so clean. Modern. Nice. The carpet was so clean that my socks didn't even get dirty walking around without shoes on. The service was great. When we checked in, the woman at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The staff at the free breakfast were nicer too. I'm vegan and got an English muffin with peanut butter and jelly and coffee with Silk vanilla almond milk. Yay breakfast!! It was quiet, clean, a great price and just what we needed for an overnight stop before we figured out new tires and the long drive to N. California. Thank you Best Western for the overnight respite that was much needed.

If I could give this location lower than a 1 star I would. The location is unsanitary and unsafe…read more do not be fooled by the pictures. Our room smelled like multiple types of smoke, upon arrival I had to kill a very large spider. There were large blood stains on the floor and curtains. We stay for 10 minutes and left without a reservation elsewhere it was that bad. And when we requested a refund the hotel said they wont because of the cancellation policy. Do Not think that this is a quick stay where you can just sleep and continue on your trip, avoid at all cost especially if travelling with a family.

I mention this as there was a small crowd of people outside, but as I waited for my wife to check in, it was clear they were not really leaving, more like returning to their cars. I was pulling a boat on a trailer, so my only option was to park under a light, but already I was feeling uneasy. Took as much as I could carry to the room as I figured anything left behind was a target. Entering the room....was overwhelming. The carpet was like a crime scene. The room was disgusting and had the feeling of a no-tell motel. I put my luggage into the bathtub, not wanting to risk it on any of the furniture. The fact was, I was so tired I could not make it another mile without at least some sleep. I told my wife I was uncomfortable with the scene outside and taking one look around I told her I was not getting into that bed and would just leave my clothes on and sleep on top of the covers, which I did. My wife now concerned with the car getting broken into, headed back outside. Already, one of the other cars had pulled close to our vehicle and was checking it out. Apparently, the people outside were living in their cars and as a community were now taking turns casing our vehicle and boat. So while I slept in my clothes on top of the bed, my wife stayed in our vehicle and watched the car community as they periodically would again check out our vehicle and she would turn on the dome light to let them know she was still watching. After a few hours, I had gotten enough rest to continue driving and we gathered our things from the relative safety of the bathtub and left. I only learned tonight that my wife had paid $170 for this room!! Trust me, this was the kind of room that would typically get marketed by the hour and more around the $49/ night level of value. Do NOT stay here. This facility should be bulldozed and the debris incinerated at extreme temperatures in an effort to sanitize the very ground it sits on. I'm not sure if the bigger thieves live in their parking lot, or sit behind the desk at the counter. I suspect they may have a connection.
