I was playing no games with the way the universe was talking to me yesterday. No thank you sir. We won't be driving anymore. Not going 50 on I5 for 7 hours. I pulled up hotels on Yelp, and this was the first choice. I thought OMG this has got to be expensive. Nope. Affordable. And VERY VERY nice. I'm INCREDIBLY picky and to say that this was super clean is a lot for me. It's so clean. Modern. Nice. The carpet was so clean that my socks didn't even get dirty walking around without shoes on. The service was great. When we checked in, the woman at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The staff at the free breakfast were nicer too. I'm vegan and got an English muffin with peanut butter and jelly and coffee with Silk vanilla almond milk. Yay breakfast!! It was quiet, clean, a great price and just what we needed for an overnight stop before we figured out new tires and the long drive to N. California. Thank you Best Western for the overnight respite that was much needed.

The bathroom was exceptional, most wonderful shower in North America. The breakfast was also darn good, lots of choices and very friendly service. In fact all the employees were very cheerful and welcoming, darn pleasant. But above all, and far so, is the Japanese garden attached to the hotel. It is worth the trip all on it's own. Spectacular for it's size, only an acre- centered around a gorgeous water feature of a huge koi pond, with many lovely spaces to just chill and appreciate the beauty of the garden.

But I think the most disappointing part was having to share my room with a ton of bugs. See a picture of a few different ones on my review. Also, the coffee bar was not well staffed and there was a giant group of college students ordering food and there were two of us not with the group who wanted something and it would've been nice if they prioritized our order instead of having us wait until after the entire group was served. It felt like the epitome of an average hotel at the Holiday Inn Express level. It wasn't super fancy or nice or new or fresh, and the person at the front desk wasn't that friendly, but it was fine. The room was clean; the beds were comfy; the front-desk person was efficient and thorough. The parking lot didn't feel sketchy, but since this particular visit, I have learned that almost all hotel parking lots are sketchy. As in don't leave anything in your car--not that I would ever do that. I live in San Francisco! We checked in late at night, slept, and checked out in the morning on our way to Corvallis; so we never really saw the place during the day.

On the website this hotel said it is got Disability access nowhere did it indicate that they had no…read moreelevator and you had to go 15 stairs to get into a room but to room for my sister-in-law she's in a wheelchair they got there she had been put on the 2nd floor absolutely no way to get in we asked for a refund and the front desk person claimed that they had successfully checked in and had gone and checked the room they never successfully checked in they never accepted a key to the room he tried to claim that they went into the room and therefore he could not rent it out We tried getting a refund through where we booked it they were denied also the guy at the front desk is a liar and then try to put it back on us saying if we wanted we'll chair accessible room we should have called them 1st I will never recommend this to anybody we ask for copies of the hotel security footage and the card access to the room as proof because he stated they've gone into the room instead he just denied the refund to the booking company I will never deal with somebody who is a liar and I will never recommend this hotel to anybody we found a much better hotel With truly wheelchair accessible rooms.

With no cell service we walked up the road to the nearest house which happened to be the Ocean Haven Inn. The couple that owns this place are some of the most generous people we ever could've come across. They allowed us to use they're wifi in order to call Triple A for a tow truck and on top of that, allowed us to sit on their wonderful deck that overlooks the Pacific Ocean while we waited. They constantly checked on us to make sure everything was ok and they offered us everything from water, to these delicious little chocolate bars. We didn't get to sample the rooms, but the owners were so kind hearted that I'm sure staying here would've been very lovely. Thanks again for all of the hospitality! Next time we drive through we'll have to make it a point to stay here!
