After waiting an hour for our brunch to come out we were informed, by the most inattentive uninterestsd waitress, there was only one cook. 20 minutes later our food came, ice cold. I have been to the Indo multiple times now, and it gets better every time. The menu items are very reasonably priced and delicious. I have ordered the Indo burger multiple times, the fried pickles, and the truffle french fries. All were incredibly delicious. The beer list is a fantastic mix of local and imported beers, with many on tap. However, do not stop at the beer menu. Their bartenders are extremely skilled, accommodating, and friendly. My last visit at the Indo was simply to grab a late-night drink and snack with a visiting friend. The Indo has recently begun serving a $5 late-night food menu full of delicious appetizers and various bar food. When I went to order the Diabla--a spicy and smokey mezcal cocktail--they regretfully informed me that they recently ran out of a required ingredient. However, the bartender asked if this is a typical drink that I like--a smokey, spicy, bitter drink-- and if I trusted him to make me something off the menu. Of course, I said yes. He returns with a cocktail made up of mezcal, jalapeno tequila, st. germain, orange bitters, floral bitters, and lemon juice served in a glass that was rimmed with smoked salt. This drink was amazing and just what I wanted! Because of my last experience, the Indo has quickly turned into one of my favorite spots on the North Shore for a drink! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a good drink, great atmosphere for conversation, good food, and friendly service! read more

Stopped in for "brunch" on Sunday with a buddy after a morning on the boat. Brunch here means the best selection of beers on the North Shore, a mind-blowing burger and great service. Seriously, this was among the best burgers I've ever had. Perfectly grilled, farm egg, bacon and everything you want on a burger. Great crowd, too. It's a pub, sort of, but special in its own right. My friend and I stopped in here before a concert at the Cabot. I'd never been but he is a big fan so we figured why not. The menu looks good. I really just wanted the poutine (which had excellent duck gravy). Drinks were good. I started with a cider made with chai. I wasn't a fan of it. I ended up having a warm and cozy which had a potpourri of booze and was very warm and cozy. The service was super slow. I wouldn't go here if I were in a hurry. I wasn't a fan of the seating as you had a wooden back that was a bit uncomfortable. The noise level was off the charts loud. I'm sure it didn't help that we were sitting by two very drunk girls who were obnoxiously loud. The music selection was all 80s and fantastic. I'll likely return and try some more of their drinks and perhaps see what trivia night is all about. read more

Bob and I were looking for a relaxing place to eat before attending a concert at The Cabot. This cozy place is in the next block and is happily loud and with background music at the right volume. (Violent Femmes with my Guiness? Yes!). They know their beer here, and Bob was thrilled with the advice about his hoppy selection. He is picky, so I am impressed. Our server, Justin, was able to speaker to the nuances of the menu and gave good recommendations. We started with poutine, which I have never had (fries with duck gravy and cheese curds). It was savory and delicious! Bob says it is better than poutine he had in Canada. The menu is small but eclectic. We tried udon soup and chimmichurri steak and both were delicious. Bob's comment: the steak was a little rarer than medium. The soup was full of mushrooms and shrimp, as well as an entire egg. The broth was a bit salty but that made all the contents very tasty. After living in Beverly for 1.5 years, we finally got around to trying the Indo. I am sure glad we did! So much so that we wound up there twice in one week! Loved the casual atmosphere, including the playlist, cozy lighting, and friendly service. We visited with our 3 year old both times and felt very welcomed, but could also see this as a great low key date spot or a fun place to come with a friends for dinner and drinks. Justin took the time to introduce us to the menu and help my husband decide on a great cocktail. He even made a yummy mocktail for me, the boring pregnant lady :) Poutine was divinely gluttonous, as all poutines should be. I've been here four times in the last two weeks and have enjoyed it every time. I love the renovation. The interior is just as cozy as it was, but the new bar is a great improvement. Many great craft brews on tap, and a good selection of whiskey,etc. For food I highly recommend the Indo Burger (a juicy burger paired with pastrami - who knew?) and the hog wings (tender bar-b-que pork on a small bone). The bartenders have been very sociable and attentive. I like that they left in the small fireplace, and that the music has been well selected. read more

I must say I am very disappointed with the food menu. First time in and I got a veggie burger which was HORRIFYING. It was like black muck. Would not recommend anyone to get that. The Indo has one of the best thought out beer selections in the North Shore. I was a regular and really love their other establishment in the city but this one is top notch and especially for the city of Beverly. Service is great and I've had some really spotty service since relocating to the area at other spots I've tried out. The burgers are unreal and I love a place that doesn't use frozen fries. The Guinness stewed potatoes at brunch make me want to be a better person. If you like beer, drink here. There are many great places in Beverly/Salem, but none that I really feel I can be a regular and get a good variety of craft beer. I was looking for a place with great craft beer, a laid back atmosphere, cool music, and some great food. I get all of that at The Indo. The bartenders, waitstaff, and even the owners have been so friendly and accommodating the 15-20 times I have been there. I'm kind of obsessed with the Hog Wings appetizers, the veggie burger, and the Indo Salad. Trivia night has been a blast. This is my go-to bar on the North Shore. They are all about the satisfaction of the customer, however, they don't treat us like customers...they treat us like a friend. My GF and I went early Sunday. Been watching Indo online for a while. I thought they had brunch. But checked when we were going and the website was blank. Walked into a completely empty place at 12:15. Kinda got scared. We sat down and the bartender was our server. She was very nice and took our drink orders. Just not sure how that would work if we weren't the only ones there. Drinks were just Ok. I got the Bloody Mary. It's mostly a craft beer place. Fine with me.I ordered the burger. I'm a burger guy who's been on a quest for the best burger in the area. My GF got the bistro sandwich. The person in the kitchen knows what they're doing. The burger was very good. Cooked perfectly and very flavorful. In my top 10 of burgers. The fries were way above average fries. My GF loved her sandwich and the fries. Not sure what's going on with this place. The Indo is a great new spot - a nice transition from the old Kitty O'Shea's. Totally different from Kitty's - the interior and bar area has been re-done. The place feels brighter and more welcoming and the clientele is less drunken. The Indo offers a really good tap selection, similar to Gulu Gulu in Salem. The staff is very friendly, especially the bartenders Emer and Jackie. Jackie makes a drink called the Hello Guvnah, which is incredibly good - Pimm's and Rye with simple syrup and lemon. I usually don't like Pimm's but not overpowering in this drink. Truffle fries and Steak and Cheese rolls are great. All in all, just a great neighborhood pub. I love the Indo! Been twice since it opened. The menu has been re-done recently. I LOVE the vegan "ground beet burger". I've never had anything like it and it knocked my socks off.
