The eggnog latte and regular latte were perfect. They were so friendly and efficient. We'll definitely be back next time we are in town.

Usually love this place, but was met with bad customer service, and wrong coffees. Just overall disappointed.

It's welcoming, cozy and well maintained. They have cute decorations, plenty of seating and the staff is always friendly. They have a broad menu of drinks and food options. I ordered the Italian panini and a cup of broccoli cheddar soup for my daughter and I to share. The sandwiches come with chips and the most heavenly pickle. The sandwich was delicious with sautéed mushrooms and onions in the mix. The soup was nice and creamy and loaded with fresh broccoli chunks. The most perfect, craveable kind of lunch. They do have a rewards program, so be sure to sign up to save because I promise you'll want to add Gwynn's to your rotation.

Does it taste over extracted? Etc.) and I can say that today's doppio was perfect to my tastes. The only thing that could have made it better would have been to have had it served in a small ceramic cup or a shot glass instead of an 8-ounce paper cup. The cashier was friendly and pleasant, letting me take the extra time to register as a loyalty member, and the barista even called my double-shot a doppio. Good on ya! It's a nice quiet location with background music as well as lots of tables and some comfy overstuffed chairs and sofa; it's very clean and bright inside. There are also some tables & chairs outside on the sidewalk area for sitting outside on a beautiful PNW fall day like today. Free WiFi is an added bonus!

This place is so awesome, I almost don't want to tell you about it…read more Came here are 9:30am on a Tuesday and the place was packed. Just an FYI, because this place gets busy they request you limit your visit to 1.5 hours. Now the menu. It is vast and everything sounded so good. Between the pastries, the yummy drinks, and the menu items, I had a hard time picking. I went with a muffin and a latte. The blueberry lemon muffin was large and so tasty. I ordered a plain latte to get a baseline on the coffee making skills. It was pretty good. I'll have to try one of the seasonal drinks next time I go. This place is small. Tables are close together. I could hear everyone's business. So keep that in mind. I am going to return when I have a bit more time. Probably a bit earlier in the morning to make sure I can get a table.

Employees are pleasant, and gave excellent recommendations. You order at the counter and they give you a number. You find yourself a table. They have mugs if you consume your coffee in their premises. They also offer to go cups if that is what you want. I ordered the European fried rice. The Portuguese sausage, and avocado complimented it well. They don't skimp on their portions. I also had the mocha which was perfect. Their dessert case looked delightful. Looking forward to returning, and trying other items on their menu, and of course some pastries. Make sure to give Elka Bee's a try.

Fernie's Coffee & ZigZag 4 Stars…read more Headed up toward Mt. Hood, I swung into Fernie's Coffee & ZigZag on a cold mountain morning, chasing a memory more than a meal. Back in the day when this place went by a different name and the vibe was more Hoppin' they made some of the greatest biscuits and gravy around. Legendary stuff. So naturally, I had to try it again. Good news: it didn't disappoint. I won't swear it's as good as the original incarnation (time has a way of polishing memories), but it's a solid second-best, and that's saying something. The biscuits were hearty, the gravy did its job, and I left full and ready for the road. The coffee? Decent. It'll wake you up, won't change your life, but it'll get you to Timberline without falling asleep at the wheel. That said, the place feels like a ghost of its former self. Sad to see the market closed that part stings a little. The building still holds the echoes of what it used to be, and you can almost feel the history lingering in the corners. Service-wise, there was a moment. The lady at the counter was BS-ing with some guy at the window for a solid five minutes or maybe he was just standing there, staring into the void but either way, I was ready to order. That little pause cost them a star. Still, for the price, the convenience, and the fact that I was in and out with no line while heading up the mountain, it earns four stars. It's good, it's familiar, it's just missing something. If they ever find it again, this place could really shine.
