    Fernie!

Best coffee on the mountain!!! And hands down the best biscuits and gravy you'll ever stick in your face. This ain't fast food and that's why they've got covered seating aplenty. If there's a wait, just know there's a good reason for it. The food is all top notch and the coffee beats anything you'll find anywhere on the mountain. Bring your dog, or your cat, or your mini horse.... Whatever! They'll take your pet's pic and hang it up around the shop with hundreds of others. The staff and owner are always friendly and excited to catch up. And my dogs get homemade treats every time we visit. Love you guys!!!

Best Coffee on Hwy 26!! The food here is great and incredibly cheap, I love the fernies breakfast sammys and Sandy's biscuits and gravy are next level yum. My favorite barista is Stephanie she has never made me a bad coffee once and she is so lovely to chat with. I always stop by Fernie's on the way to the hill (and the way back down) I love the vibes the food the drinks the employees the owner I love it all.

My husband and in stopped here on the way out. Want an absolutely delicious b-fast sandwich?! COME HERE. We got the sausage and bacon.. I think it's vegan sausage? Idk it was BOMB. Their bagels are perfection. I think the best crunchiest bagel I've ever had? Try it and you'll understand. The owner(I think) is absolutely charming too! Spunky fresh attitude makes it all the more pleasant

Cute lil walk-up coffee shack in Rhododendron. We didn't realize when we stopped by today that it was a couple minutes past closing, but she happily offered to feed our coffee need. Verrrry happy to see that they serve Stumptown, a favorite of mine, making for a great plain black cup of Joe and a tasty latte. Reasonable prices, the right beans, and friendly service = our new go-to coffee stop heading down the mountain henceforth.

Wow. Was my "second choice" and I think fate did this one for me. Best breakfast sandwich I've ever had, biscuits and gravy were amazing, coffee was perfect (not too sweet like some places). The ambiance is fun as well! Absolutely will now be stopping anytime I pass through, not just for the weekend trips.

Very sweet spot! This is a covered coffee/food stand with some covered bench seating. I got an oat milk latte and it was okay, but I will admit I'm a coffee snob. The sandwiches, however, were excellent! So tasty and all the ingredients were very fresh. I got a Mountian Box which is half a turkey sandwich on some truly amazing bread, plus pretzels, hummus, and carrots (and they threw in a free cookie!) I had my dog with me and the very friendly barrista gave her a homemade dog treat which my pup enjoyed. There was only one person working the day we stopped so it was a little slow but it was worth the wait. I think this is a great addition to the Hoodland area.

What an adorable little coffee shack in Rhody, OR on Route 26. The breve was smooth and perfect and this cinnamon roll was absolute heaven!! Soft and light with the perfect amount of icing to cinnamon ratio! So YUM!! They take a photo of your pup if you have and bring it too! Highly recommended!

Fernies coffee is a cute little coffee shack(?) off of hwy 26 in Rhododendron in the Mt. Hood Food store parking lot, about a quarter mile before the Dairy Queen and where you start to enter the Mt. Hood Forest. No drive thru, but the order / wait area is all covered which is nice. They serve local Stumptown Coffee, along with other faves like Jazzy Bagels! Their menu was pleasant and they had their own special drinks which was good to see. I had the 'Snowfall' where she uses both powder and syrup white chocolate. Pretty good with a nice balance of sweet and espresso. Stop bye on your way to the mountain, it won't disappoint!

Best cup of coffee I had in Oregon. I wish I had ordered the larger cup. The coffee was almost as good as the person who served it.

We were quickly seated which is great with a party of 13. My husband and i shared the french dip and onion rings which were both SO good!! The onion ring order was so large we ended up sharing with everyone in our group. Our waiter was great and made sure that we all had what we needed. My only suggestion is to let a large group know ahead of time that a 20% gratuity is automatically added to the bill.

It was also in the middle of a heat wave in OR, so we asked to sit outside. After my husband snagged our table, I brought our well-trained and well-behaved Siberian with us to the patio. There was another poorly-behaved dog, but my dog could not have cared any less, and it was far enough away that it didn't bother me too much either. The outdoor seating was minimal and basic, but did the job. Thankfully there was shade from the umbrellas. I put my dog in his "tuck" command under me as he is trained to do at restaurants, and proceeded to look at the menu. To be honest, the food looked pretty good, and also smelled pretty good, as I watched other patrons get their meals. However, we were still pretty stuffed, so we settled with a beer flight. The beers were out to our table pretty quickly, but after trying them, my husband and I came to the consensus that we expected more from the only brewing company in town. As another Yelper put it, the beers fell flat for us too. I was hoping there would be more/different notes to each beer, which is the whole point of sampling multiple, but they all seemed quite monotone. It started getting pretty warm underneath our umbrella, so we quickly wrapped up our beer flight and left. The view was gorgeous, and the location splendid (hence the 4 stars), and perhaps next time I'd be down to try one of their dishes, specifically the elkburger, but I was a little disappointed in the beer. I've been to plenty of breweries to enjoy beers there and also bought craft beers/growlers for home, so I'd like to say I'm decently versed in beer, but this missed the mark.

This grocery store, and only this store, were convenient to the resort. My understanding is that Sandy, Oregon, 15 miles away, has a Safeway, a Fred Meyer, and other shopping options. Selection was quite good for a relatively small mountain store, and we found everything that was on our grocery list. However, we were shocked by the prices, which appeared to be significantly higher than we expected for almost every item that we looked at. Fresh fruits and vegetables were especially high. For example, a single yellow bell pepper was $3.29. Bananas were $1.19/pound. While in the store, my husband asked me whether we should get an apple cider for about $6. When we got home, we were shocked to see that we were charged $13.69 for the cider. It's possible that the $6 sign referred to a smaller size. Also of concern, we found that some items that were on sale through their weekly circular or Managers Specials did not go through at their sale prices -- specifically bread (overcharged $1) and potato chips (also $1 over). On the positive side, we did find a few well-priced items, including frozen pizza (sale), sausage links (sale), and goat cheese. The check-out cashier was efficient and friendly enough. Parking was plentiful and free. Note that we also didn't see a Customer Service counter. We wanted to ask whether we needed to get a customer loyalty card to get sale prices. The cashier confirmed that they would be automatic. We would still probably return if we needed only a few items, but we'll be going to Sandy for larger shopping trips.
