Prices are a bit high, ~$25 for most breakfasts, $8 for 2 eggs, but I'd imagine it's expensive to get ingredients out here, Staff was friendly, it took less than 20 mins from walking in the door to having food in front of me, super speedy! Food was good too I had the chocolate chip pancakes. Two huge pancakes for $18, I couldn't even finish the plate. Wood tables and chairs with a gorgeous view of the forest.

Boxes stored everywhere, dirty glass, chitchat in the kitchen.

The place is filthy and disorganized. The air and walls are greasy and gross. Seriously overpriced. Food okay. Service mediocre. Four employees standing around chatting instead of cleaning or filling coffee. Avoid this cafe at all costs.

We stopped here on our way home out of Government Camp (less than 15 mins drive) for breakfast. It was pretty empty for a Monday morning so we had our pick of the seats and decided to sit right by the window. I would describe the style as cabin getaway vibes. They have the main restaurant part and a deli section for grab and go things. There was also an upstairs area where the restroom was but I wasn't sure if it was actually open for dining (my toddler loved the wooden bear statue toilet holder! How cute!) There was a corner area by the fireplace mantle with board games that seemed very family friendly. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and were told we can sit wherever. And water and drink orders were taken right away. I got the Lumberjack Breakfast special with the sourdough pancake option (available when they have them) and the sausage was super flavorful! My husband got the classic eggs Benedict. We got enjoyed our breakfast potatoes and I'm glad his came with fresh fruit! I haven't made up my mind about the sourdough pancake yet but I would recommend coming for breakfast here in our out of your way from your Government Camp trip!

Unfortunately this was a less than pleasant experience and it seems that it is quite common for ZigZag customers to be left waiting for over an hour without acknowledgment and apologies. We should have known that this was par for the course. Initially we were very excited to stop by the Cafe after a long hike in the Mt. Hood area. We went inside and asked if we could sit outside on the patio. After 15 minutes had gone by, I went in and had to ask if a server would come by with waters and take our order... it took probably another 10 minutes to get 3 waters and a Bloody Mary. We sat waiting and waiting for our food. An hour and 15 mins went by... we contemplated getting up and leaving as that type of service is inexcusable. Reluctantly we waited and finally the food came. The only reason I've given them two stars is because the food was pretty good. I hate to write a review like this but the lack of customer service or acknowledgment is disappointing. They could have preemptively shared that there is a longer wait time or apologized but there was none of that. Very very disappointing experience. They need to get their service sorted out in a major way!!

Firstly the atmosphere is so adorable you really Feel like you're in a little mountain cabin. It was the perfect little brunch spot on our way to Mt. Hood. Can't go wrong with chicken and waffles!! There was a nice outdoor seating area. The country fried steak wasn't our favorite. The meat was sort of tough and thick, but I'd definitely stop here again when traveling through. It was an overall good experience.

Expensive food. Uninviting and rude staff. Looks run down from the inside and not really much of a store at al. Outside is pretty though! ;)

Our food was ready in no time and we found a little table outside to eat. The lights were glowing and the sun was just setting which made the ambiance perfect. I highly recommend the Ramen. The flavor was insane. I also enjoyed the mushroom sushi. This place is absolutely worth the hype and wait.

If you want to get something to eat otherwise you have to go several miles down the road. I get it, but at least make the food a little bit better... It is a nice place, it's down some steps, a little hole in the wall. . It is small. The regular slices of pizza were eight bucks, they wanted 12 bucks for a slice of their "special" pizza. I chose the barbecue chicken, pizza, chicken, Walla Walla, onions, garlic, and the base of the pizza is barbecue sauce instead of tomato sauce.. The crust was just OK. It was kind of chewy. It tasted a little bit flat. I could definitely smell the garlic and taste the garlic, and the onions were OK. I did like the barbecue sauce. It had a nice flavor to it. The chicken? Not much of it, and what there was was tiny little pieces. I could hardly taste it at all. Look, if you're gonna charge that much for a simple slice of pizza and call it a barbecue chicken pizza, at least put a fair amount of chicken on it. I was disappointed. I wouldn't eat here again.

Hood…read more As we had already had brunch a few hours earlier, we weren't exactly hungry, but wanted some beers. Mt. Hood Brewing looked promising, so we decided to stop by. It was also in the middle of a heat wave in OR, so we asked to sit outside. After my husband snagged our table, I brought our well-trained and well-behaved Siberian with us to the patio. There was another poorly-behaved dog, but my dog could not have cared any less, and it was far enough away that it didn't bother me too much either. The outdoor seating was minimal and basic, but did the job. Thankfully there was shade from the umbrellas. I put my dog in his "tuck" command under me as he is trained to do at restaurants, and proceeded to look at the menu. To be honest, the food looked pretty good, and also smelled pretty good, as I watched other patrons get their meals. However, we were still pretty stuffed, so we settled with a beer flight. The beers were out to our table pretty quickly, but after trying them, my husband and I came to the consensus that we expected more from the only brewing company in town. As another Yelper put it, the beers fell flat for us too. I was hoping there would be more/different notes to each beer, which is the whole point of sampling multiple, but they all seemed quite monotone. It started getting pretty warm underneath our umbrella, so we quickly wrapped up our beer flight and left. The view was gorgeous, and the location splendid (hence the 4 stars), and perhaps next time I'd be down to try one of their dishes, specifically the elkburger, but I was a little disappointed in the beer. I've been to plenty of breweries to enjoy beers there and also bought craft beers/growlers for home, so I'd like to say I'm decently versed in beer, but this missed the mark.
