So happy they are open again!!!

So happy they are back! I love they have a nice, dry cider on tap now. It is just the coziest bar at Timberline. I got the All The Cheese Pizza today which was super delicious. The crust was perfect, and the sauce and cheese ratio were sumptuous. Now that they are back open, they will definitely be my go-to place for food and drink. Alas, they are closing soon for the season, but I will be back in summer!

We went there last week, it's a small restaurant inside timberline lodge, you can see chefs making pizza. They don't have much options, We ordered cheese pizza, pesto based pizza, beer and Affogato. Cheese pizza was yummy yummy, pesto pizza was good too And Affogato was yumm. Definitely recommend this place.

    Such a neat place!

We came to Timberline Lodge twice on our Oregon trip and we loved visiting this historic hotel. We had dinner at the Blue Ox Bar and we had some drinks, salad, and pizza. We loved our food and we loved the atmosphere of this little hole in the wall restaurant. The decor is fun and the whole experience was really quite fun. We would definitely come back here again!

We were eager to drink & dine in this iconic bar! We walked in just in the nick of time because it got extremely busy right after we arrived. We think the waiter was slightly overwhelmed (thus contributing to our 3-star rating). For beverages we ordered the Smoky Orchard (very stout but had a nice pear finish) & the rotating cider. For pizzas we ordered the (both 10"/personal sized) Cheese Pizza & Mushroom & Bacon Pizza. Both were decent pizzas but very overpriced ($14 & $20). The crust was crunchy on the edges but the rest of the pie was fairly soft. The cheese was underwhelming (we'd prefer more cheese & maybe stringier & maybe more flavor- like garlic). The mushroom & bacon definitely had more flavor but we would've liked more mushrooms & more bacon, but the arugula gave it a nice earthy spice. It was a fun experience (sitting in what was originally designate a wood storage space for the Timberline Lodge & later converted into a bar), but we'll try another eatery next time we visit.

This was my first time eating at the lodge here. I normally grab a warm drink and pack a lunch. This was summer so it was a different beast. Now, this place is a hole in the wall, quite luttereally size wise. I didn't expect much, but respected the minimalist Naples like pizza. When we ordered me assumed they were smaller than they were and the pizza ended up being not as pricey as we thought. We got the 2 vegetarian options as the friends we were with were vegetarian. I like a standard cheese and basil pizza to be honest though. They hand toss their dough, and they do it quite well. Ingredients were fresh and placed well. I would easily say, compared to alot of the fair food up there, this is a safe bet to enjoy.

Divine chicken, bacon, onion, creme fraiche pizza... perfectly cooked!

I'm not going to lie - this place probably had the best pizza I've had in Oregon in the two years I've been here. The next closest was in White Salmon, WA (and that's not even Oregon). The wait staff is nice as can be, and because it is pretty small, they are very attentive. The prices are a little higher, but well worth it for the taste. Smaller menu, so I hope you're not picky. Our 12" pizza was cooked perfectly- crunchy crust, chewy middle, melty cheese, and I didn't even want to pick off the chicken or dip it in ranch which is saying a lot for me. We also split the Caesar salad which was also amazing. Tossed in just the right amount of dressing with lots of parmesan and tasty croutons. Their drinks are also awesome- you really can't miss by going here. We might have to take more trips to Timberline just for the Blue Ox!

My heart beats Blonde, White, and Blue at historic Timberline Lodge thanks to tiny iconic Blue Ox Bar servin' blonde beer, white pizza, and you. Give me liberty or give me pizza! But first, give me a Highland Meadow Blonde Ale. This draft beer is a light starter brew to drink your way off the bunny slopes towards Mt. Hood Brewing Co.'s Ice Axe IPA. Then get a hand-tossed 12" White Rooster Pizza ($15) with Smoked Chicken, Applewood Bacon Bits, Red Onions, Asiago Cheese, and Crème Fraîche. Like Kate Upton, it's creamy white seduction that no man or woman should try to resist. Blue Ox Bar is a tiny hole-in-the-wall that proves you don't have to be big to be a larger-than-life folk hero. Both, Paul Bunyan and I are fans of the Blonde, White, and Blue.

Timberline is always fun and having never eaten here, thought it would be nice to take my dad here. We went to the Blue Ox thinking of just having coffee at first, but dad saw the onion soup on the menu. The place is small and we got lucky somebody had just gotten up. The decor is classic Timberline with big heavy wood furniture. Nice tile artwork on the wall and yes, it is a blue ox, imagine that. The service was quick and they were really nice. I had ordered a personal pizza, one of the best things I have eaten in a while. The pizza had fresh mozzarella, basil and melted mozzarella, but just enough to hold it one. The crust is super light with good flavor. I wasn't sure what to expect, since I know a lot of people that work at Timberline and had told me these were frozen pizzas, but they have since changed all that. These are handmade and the taste shows it. It was $10 and worth it. Now, my dad on the other hand was not impressed with the onion soup, which was white and creamy, not that traditional brown base. Overall, I would go back.

We went hiking and stop by to have a drink before we hit the road. I had a Bloody Mary with home made beef jerky. It was both good. Great service. I took a nap on the couch downstairs afterwards. Really cozy here.

Our service was incredibly slow and the pizza was burned. We were agitated, but then the manager came out and said the meal was on her.

It was also in the middle of a heat wave in OR, so we asked to sit outside. After my husband snagged our table, I brought our well-trained and well-behaved Siberian with us to the patio. There was another poorly-behaved dog, but my dog could not have cared any less, and it was far enough away that it didn't bother me too much either. The outdoor seating was minimal and basic, but did the job. Thankfully there was shade from the umbrellas. I put my dog in his "tuck" command under me as he is trained to do at restaurants, and proceeded to look at the menu. To be honest, the food looked pretty good, and also smelled pretty good, as I watched other patrons get their meals. However, we were still pretty stuffed, so we settled with a beer flight. The beers were out to our table pretty quickly, but after trying them, my husband and I came to the consensus that we expected more from the only brewing company in town. As another Yelper put it, the beers fell flat for us too. I was hoping there would be more/different notes to each beer, which is the whole point of sampling multiple, but they all seemed quite monotone. It started getting pretty warm underneath our umbrella, so we quickly wrapped up our beer flight and left. The view was gorgeous, and the location splendid (hence the 4 stars), and perhaps next time I'd be down to try one of their dishes, specifically the elkburger, but I was a little disappointed in the beer. I've been to plenty of breweries to enjoy beers there and also bought craft beers/growlers for home, so I'd like to say I'm decently versed in beer, but this missed the mark.

There were only a couple of other people in the restaurant, but yet it took forever for our server to come help us. I had tried to hand motion, the hostess, a couple of times when they walked by and either they did not see my hand motion or they ignored me. I was finally able to get noticed I was able to get a server to come over. When she got to our table, she seemed like she was rushed, but she was very polite. Not sure what she was rushed for because at that time, it was not very busy yet. Me and my two adult sons ordered the timber lined hash, and my wife ordered the Pucci sandwich. They were very tasty and they did look good upon presentation, but me and my son's thought that our hash did not contain enough steak in it to go with the potatoes and everything else. It did taste very good though however. My wife did enjoy her sandwich. The ambience is typical for a dining room in a mountain lodge at a ski resort and it felt very cozy.
