It honestly didn't really quite look like the advertised photo, that's what sold me as a visual eater. I was hoping for more caramelized sugar in the drink. The matcha was gritty. And it could have been a hair sweeter. The drink was good but it could have been better. I'm sure we will be back. My sister loves this place and with summer coming up, we gotta keep hydrated. They had some specialty donuts on display and man did they look killer! I didn't know what they were specifically but they looked delicious! All of them nicely decorated and garnished. But, with much restraint, I got a big apple fritter for my husband and some donut holes for the grandmas. My mom didn't let me grandma have any donut holes so I had to take one for the team and enjoy them for her. They were so good! They were soft and tasty. Every donut hole was nicely glazed. It's amazing you can polish off 7 donut holes and not realize that you had that many. They are so dainty that you don't realize how fast you're eating them. Each one was great! The gal that worked today was really sweet. I did take a bite of my husband's apple fritter and it was tasty as well! My husband also enjoyed it. My other grandma enjoyed her donut holes. She too didn't have a beard time eating 7 of them. I'm happy I stopped in today. Looking forward to coming back and grabbing more treats real soon.

The service (thanks to Riggen) was as sparkling as the donut case and interior of the shop is clean and although we planned to share a donut, we found much to our surprise that they make cinnamon rolls too. Have they always and we just didn't notice? Regardless, today one of those was our choice. My 100% Italian heritage husband who grew up in an Italian neighborhood in Brooklyn never has quite warmed up to cinnamon rolls, a staple of my WASP Portland-Seattle upbringing so it is usual that if we order one to share then I will get the lion's share. But as we sipped our Americano's and enjoyed this one, I nearly had to stab his hand with my plastic fork to keep him from eating some of my half. Another great surprise on this visit was their donut holes, offered in a bag and little clear container, made with their sour cream cake donut batter! Samples were offered on the counter and SO good that I thought about picking up a container before we left but a woman came in while we were eating and sipping, tasted the sample and bought the bag and every one of the six or seven containers of them to take away with her. Being curious since they opened this in Fall'ish 2024 and finding myself in the neighborhood, this was a destination stop for my husband and me when we went in about 11:30 on a weekday for coffee and a nosh. Pride of ownership shines in the clean and funky feeling interior and it is clearly popular because it was full, almost every seat, of people that seemed from the neighborhood, including a number of parents with young children. They advertise this as coffee and market, but I honestly didn't notice the market part, in that things for sale didn't jump out at me. That may have been because I was just trying to navigate to a seat in and out in the crowded space. THE MO: Coffee and the limited menu for food is ordered at the counter, carry to your seat and bus your own when finished. Although we were the only people at the counter and there were two people in the kitchen, it took quite some time for someone to come to take the order, although once someone finally saw us, they were pleasant, if not welcoming, in taking the coffee order and then again when my hubby went back to order pastries to go with it. MENU: Coffee, other beverages and a very small option of eats is listed behind the counter and on a paper menu there. Options included soup of the day and Gaston's bakery pastries. There were some breakfast sandwiches by local provider Poppyseed Bakery in the fridge section, we weren't told about them but seeing them when passing by the fridge on a trip to the loo, asked if they could be heated and were told they could be. We chose a couple of pastries ($5.50 each) and were reminded why we seldom buy Gaston's products for being too buttery and one note. The cortado ($4) were good. I noticed a woman at the table across from us who was sipping a beverage and eating what looked like a sandwich she had carried in. I don't know if that is part of allowable stuff or not. The pottery used for all of their coffee service, ours and the mugs at other tables, is great. AMBIANCE: They did an admirable job here of making this light and bright and just funky enough with pride of ownership and loving care in maintenance sparkling through. Seating includes a few level in, not step up, booths along one wall, a sofa and chairs near the front and many standard height tables and chairs (maybe too many when all full as getting to seat is tough) and a play area for kids in the corner. It had far less comfortable 'breathing room' space than I anticipated from photos. But I didn't take interior photos to post because I think it is rude to do that when lots of people are going to be in them who maybe don't want to be. ;-) LOO: There are two and both are uni and sparkling clean with great murals on the wall and good plumbing fixtures. My husband even pointed out the "cool" sink. Both are ADA compliant so kudos to them for that. (Yes, it is law and code but you'd be astounded by how many ignore both.) ACCESSIBILITY: One ADA parking spot right outside the door. (There are too few spots for the parking lot but that is not the coffee shop owners' failure. That is the lot owner's issue.) Level in the door. All on one floor. The tables would probably work for a wheelchair user to roll under. But it would be near impossible, based on my experience yesterday (I have had multiple sclerosis since age 20 and sometimes use a wheelchair) for a wheelchair user to get between tables and chairs for a clear path of travel to get to seating or the loo.

I walked up to the young man at the cashier and asked where were all the croissants, palmiers, and chocolate croissants. He tells me, matter of factly, that what they have is out on display. To be clear, what was out on display was two or three offerings of bakery goods that didn't look fresh or even appetizing. If you're going to be a French bakery and have trays with the words of Croissants, Palmiers, and others then stock it OR Remove them as it is false advertising. Matter of fact, take out the Eiffel Tower by the front door while you're at it. There's NOTHING FRENCH or PARIS related here. I will never come back. It was embarrassing experience.

The last time I went I tried the gingerbread latte - this was hands down THE BEST gingerbread latte I've ever had! I'm so bummed it's seasonal and that they aren't closer to me so I can enjoy it more before it's gone. I did enjoy their breakfast burrito, it is a smidge expensive, but it's solid. My partner is a black coffee drinker and he likes their Fruit Snacks brew for drip, says it's one of the best black coffees he's found in a while. The ambiance is very relaxed, the swing chairs are such a unique idea (at least in my experience) and they give the shop a fun vibe. I kind of wish they were in just a little bit bigger location, the last time I went it was fairly full inside and it would be great if they had a few more spots for comfy reading chairs - I would love to grab some snacks, a couple of drinks, and spend an hour or two reading there. It's definitely a warm environment and any time I'm in the area, I plan to head back.
