Drinks were good. Girls were friendly. It was pretty quick. Not as expensive as some other coffee shops.

Inside out: my husband and I come here one of the weekend days as part of our ritual, of the locations we like this one the best! It's easy in and out with multiple options to get out of the parking lot. They do get a little busy and that can be a bit interesting logistically with people trying to all get a place in line. Drinks and snacks: I always get an iced white maple and he enjoys their chai! Though he also said the smoothies with protein powder are fantastic. I've liked every snack I've had- the oatmeal is an option I enjoy for a warm breakfast. Staff: almost always friendly and they have never messed up an order after years of coming here! I might just be lucky - but it's always a pleasant exchange. Overall I highly recommend grabbing your beverage of choice here, and my personal favorite is they aren't high energy climbing into your car in the morning. The Human Bean is a great drive-thru coffee spot! The staff is friendly and they pump out drinks quick and efficiently! This location is really easy to get to-- right off of Broadway. I'd stop here on my way to Boise State on a regular basis; sometimes the only fuel I'd be running on for the whole school day would be a 20oz vanilla iced coffee and a chocolate covered espresso bean. The coffee here is what I like to categorized as "coffee milk". I'm a big fan of this more milky and sweet type of coffee- but on days when I really need the caffeine buzz- I add a shot of espresso! A dirty chai with 2 shots of espresso is one of my favorite "Treat yo self" / " Get shit done" drinks! This drinks is great either hot or cold. I love the selection of dairy alternatives they have here: soy, almond, coconut, and "milkadamia". They also have fruit smoothies and energy drinks that you can add flavor syrups to! Also, I couldn't write a review for this place without mentioning their banana nut bread! Visiting from out of town so this was my first Human Bean experience. I asked for a cold brew with mocha and almond milk, and when it was handed to me, the employee said, "We ran out of cold brew, so I used half iced coffee. If it's gross you can just come back around and I'll remake it for you." Like, what? Why would you say something like that and also expect me to waste even more of my morning waiting through the line again? I expected it to not be that bad but it was in fact pretty gross. But I didn't have time to go back through the line. I also got a sausage burrito, and when I got to work and unwrapped it, half of the tortilla peeled off with the paper so it became more of a soggy scramble at that point. Consistently great! Great service, great drinks, great little coffee bean on top. This little coffee joint has moved to the top of my coffee fixin' list. I am not too savvy on the coffee lingo, dingo but I do know a mocha might be my kryptonite. Made with chocolate milk (I never knew) and some peanut butter, who would have known, a candy bar whatchamacallit in a cup. I don't like things that are super sweet so the coffee slingers fixed it to my liking! My original go-to was iced coffee and will still be on my rotating list of caffeine must-haves. There smoothies are pretty delicious as well but I am not much of a fan of ice in my smoothie. I still managed to guzzle it so must not be too bad. The Human Bean on Broadway has gone down hill. The service is slow, orders are never repeated back, and the quality of the drinks is nonexistent. I never get the correct size of drink I ordered, the correct shot amount I ordered, or the correct milk alternative. As someone with an allergy, this is a big deal. I end up losing money every time I go to this location, because nobody bothers to make sure that the drink is what I even ordered. I've been going to this location for years, and I want to give them the benefit of the doubt, but I've been disappointed and made sick too many times to ever return. The Human Bean on Emerald has better service all around anyway. Broadway needs to be retrained and retested all around ASAP. read more

Human Bean is my #2 favorite coffee spot, coming in just shy of Boise's own Lucky Perk. I love the fast and accessible service of Human Bean and the nice variety of drinks on their menu. They definitely know what they're doing when it comes to coffee--and the sweet complimentary espresso bean they give with each order! Food: The chocolate covered espresso beans! Yum!! Drinks: Delicious coffee. I LOVE that Human Bean has such a huge variety of sugar free flavors. I almost always order a drip coffee with a sugar free syrup, and the fact that these guys have so many to pick from helps me give a big two thumbs up. I've been stopping by The Human Bean every here and there for the past few years for my on-the-go coffee fix. Their drinks are consistent across all of their locations, as is their friendly (and genuine) customer service. When you go to The Human Bean, you know exactly what you are in for - which I love! My favorite thing to order from The Human Bean is a [hot] honey and almond milk latte, second to that is a mocha with an extra shot! This past Sunday, it was a 90+ degree day, so I figured I'd mix it up and order something iced. I stopped by their location on Chinden and ordered an iced honey latte. I ordered, paid, and had my drink within 2-3 minutes, and as usual the service was friendly! But as I drove away and took a sip, I thought it tasted a bit watery and couldn't really taste the coffee. I put it in the coffee cup holder and didn't drink much more. Then as I got closer to my house, I passed this Human Bean location and thought to myself, "What the heck, maybe they can remake it for me, might as well ask!". I pulled up, asked if they would mind remaking it, and the girl who was helping me was so kind and remade it with no hesitation. I drove away with a new drink, and took another sip and it tasted like the first. Sigh. Not a complaint, just a realization that with their iced coffee drinks, you don't taste the coffee as potently as with the hot. Owner is more bitter than his Coffee over Donation Baristas were pretty cool but the coffee left a bitter taste in my mouth last week when a few volunteers came in to pick up coffee for other Komen Race for the Cure volunteers...and the owner or manager began complaining rather inappropriately about having to donate more coffee. I used to like this place, and I used to stop by almost every Wednesday for double punch day. But it seems like they raised their prices and lowered their standards lately. Sadly, the drink quality went downhill, and has been inconsistent and sloppy. Also, their punchcard system is bizarre: once, while redeeming my free punch card drink, the barista actually asked what size I normally get, because they "don't want to give a large free drink to customers who normally purchase small drinks." Man, I am a ditz, but I do love my coffee. At this point, I have been to this location twice. It is right down the road from Dutch Bros and also across from Sonic and a Hawaiian Shaved Ice place. I can see myself rotating around to all of those locations when I am in the mood for a specialty drink but as for coffee, it is hard to compare The Human Bean to Dutch Bros. They have similar menu options, perky baristas but the Human Bean is less cult-ish. Don't get me wrong, I love the feel and vibe of Dutch Bros but sometimes it is hard to handle pre-coffee. Anyways, me being a ditz...they have hydro flasks. I just got back from a vacation in Hawaii and they had Hydro Flasks all over, they were a real THING there. I never looked at prices but assumed they were super expensive...anyways, had to get a water before going to hot yoga and the barista said that would be one-fifty three. I almost peed myself because I thought she was making me purchase a hydro flask just to get the water. Long story short, the barista was super kind to explain I am just getting a water for $1.53 and though I am sure she was talking to a crazy person, she did not give that impression, and I am thankful. Ok, to keep this short, I wish they had breakfast sandwiches but they did have oatmeal and a few pastry options. Their selection of flavors is pretty mighty and they put up with crazy people like me! I was so happy they had one of these here in Idaho. I first had it in Rocklin, CA. It's good quality coffee for relatively cheap prices. For iced drinks I love the Irish Creme Breve (it almost tastes like an iced Annihilator from Dutch Bros). Hot drinks I've had the Chai Tea Latte with Almond Milk and it's delicious. Their signature is a coffee chocolate bean on every drink. Super fast service and good coffee. My go to place for quick coffee. read more

The barista was really nice! Even at 7am. She hooked me up with a Granita which I highly recommend if you like sweet cold coffee beverages. Their pumpkin bread was HUGE and to die for - so moist. If you want a 50/50: go to Starbucks. if you personally prioritize the coffee, for a 75/25 split: go to the Human Bean. They know how to make a beverage here, the coffee bean does not get lost in all the additives at this mini-chain. Their sizing and drink options are fair and their store personality is rather welcoming. I recommend them to everyone and have started including gift-cards in my mailings to friends and family. Been here twice now. Each time I have gone, my coffee drink has tasted very weak on the coffee. I have not asked how many espresso shots are put into their medium lattes, but it seemed to me like they may only put one shot in a medium instead of the usual two. This has happened both times I have been to this particular location. I do appreciate the chocolate covered coffee bean, however. The service here is very OK. I've only been here once but I won't be returning. Everything was great apart from the coffee. I would not recommend getting an iced latte here and that's all I can speak to in case you're on the hunt for a good iced latte.
